It was more of a hatchet job than a review but I think many might find it represents their experience.

I agree with the review 100% and have been saying since beta this game is an NGE or relaunch waiting to happen.

I'm still playing... barely, but have reached V1 so far.

I can't really argue any of their review points...It would probably mimick a review I would do if I had to.

Especially the part about the dungeons.... if you want to call them that.

Piss poor effort building dungeons...it's sad when you can get to a new dungeon and already know what you're gonna find before you enter it.

Maybe it really is like the single player game then!

ESO is flopping so hard it should knock some sense into the suits in this business. Unfortunately, it has happened many times before, and they dont seem to learn. It is probably because the people with the money have no clue about their product.

Dungeons really are my biggest gripe.

The way the did dungeons really reflects the outside dungeon world too...quest, quest, and quest.  I miss grinding camps.

People complaining about a game launching with 30 unique dungeons and 100 variations...

Well, can t argue here. Worst MMO (if you want to call it that) in years. It feels so amateur, I can t really call it anything other then that.

    Just like SWTOR?

Which after the switch to F2P, like so many others, now makes profits?

In the end many will look back and believe it was all planned out by ZOS.

(Don't play either. Do study economics.)

It is the most fun I've had at launch in years. Granted it is no DAoC but really with today's players it never had a chance to be. Though I do hope all the botters are found and publicly sterilized.

Dang. ESO can't get a break, can they?

Can you show me how one of those 30 look like. Are they simple affairs or actually complex like the ones in Everquest  or like Wailing Caverns or Maraudon in WoW. If they are rubbish small and very simple do not bother qouting that 30 figure to try and show that ESO has good dungeon design.

Lol I am surprised it's 30....I think I guessed 10 when someone brought it up weeks ago.  It's not like they are identical, but they tend to be circles so you can exit through the entrance.  It's also weird to focus on something that you run through in 5 minutes and you maybe spend 5% of your time in a zone in delves (unless you're a bot but they nerfed the drops so that doesn't really happen now).

I'm more curious about how many more accounts the OP is going to make before Wildstar  launches.

The dungeons were an afterthought, like most of the rest of the game. Honestly the vast majority of them are more like holes in the ground than dungeons anyway, only taking 5 minutes to run through and clear. They had so much to work with from the MASSIVE dungeons in other TES games but... laziness kicked in and here we are i guess.

I think it's pretty clear from the first paragraph that this guy didn't like (or perhaps didn't want to like) ESO. I'm not commenting one way or another about the game, but in order to take a review seriously, you have to believe that the guy writing it is being objective and honest. This guy is seething with hatred for this game, that's obvious pretty much from the outset, and as such, I think his so-called review is pointless.

Agreed should just pull it downn now and start over.  But since they took everyones money and then some,it might be hard to do. Patching is not going to fix this game. It might fix some bugs but the mechanics are just bad. Every review points to this.

Yes, we shall call every cave dungeon nowadays.

Even if its just copy/paste job.

Same thing as in SWTOR and DA2 (came to my mind immediately).

    This.

Oh, and I believe these are primarily copied to each of the 3 factions, correct? So it's not a duplicate within your own faction. Not making excuses, but just sort of a who cares topic. Will only affect people who roll a toon on each faction and those people probably don't generally care about any aspect of the game other than *slash**slash**slash* Next!

There is nothing complex about them.  Same design just replace bandits with spiders, change the boss's name, and put in theme appropriate clutter and structural textures.  Takes maybe 5 or 10 mins to get through one if you're alone which is rare.  Usually its just a matter of running to the end grabbing your skyshard, getting a hit in on the boss to get the achievement and you're on your way.

I think my basement is more complex and dangerous then ESO's dungeons.

Takes much longer to clear as well...

FFXIV was bashed to death for it's copy paste bits in the map so why shouldn't this game have complaints on copy/paste content in a MUCH larger value than ffxiv itself?

Lol. I didnt know those little caves were considered dungeons. Now I can see why people are complaining. I agree with the review. The biggest flaw with this game is that it is terminally boring. I felt like I was being punished for something running errand after errand for npcs.
  • ohioastroohioastro Member UncommonPosts: 534
Why don't the group dungeons count?  Why don't the places that you go for the faction quests, the mages guild, the fighters guild, or the main quest line count?  Why is it that only the places that you go to collect skyshards, usually without associated quests, count?
