Hi all, i am thinking of buying ESO but before i do i would like to know few things.
1.If you go with standard version of game, how hard is it to gather enough gold for a decent mount?
2.Is the endgame PvP only?
3.Are quests solo friendly or does it require to group up often?
Comments
1) depends how much you spend if your thrifty will take you about 1 - 2 weeks
2) no there are other things
3) solo friendly some zone bosses and a couple of dungoens each zone will require a group
1.If you go with standard version of game, how hard is it to gather enough gold for a decent mount?
Not hard. Probably level 20 or earlier, you will easily have enough gold. However, mounts aren't really that much of a benefit except for PVP. I usually walk so I can more easily find chests and crafting spawns.
2.Is the endgame PvP only?
No. There is an entire zone being put in, I think in the next week or so, that has 12 man raid content.
3.Are quests solo friendly or does it require to group up often?
Yes, quests are solo friendly for the most part. You will need to group for the instanced dungeons however.
Most quests are public, so there is are usually many players doing them along with you.
1. No its not hard to get enough gold as long as you dont want to have max bag and max bank space first, ... Espescially when you dont craft early on and sell all stuff you find, there is enough gold to be made....
2. No, there is multi player dungeons and multiplayer zones and even some raid stuff.. However it differs from other endgame content as they plan to raise max level with every big content patch... There is 50 normal level and 10 (soon 11) veteran levels, which are considerd the endgame...
3. Quests in general are solo friendly, however, the higher your level becomes the harder they are and you might want to friend-up with pkayers near you..
so far, the besta dvice i can give you, if you liked swtor, tsw and lotro questing, you will love the game..
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
I play from NL and do not have serious lag related issues.
Of course, it would be nice if they moved the server to this side of the Atlantic, which they did say that they were doing.
If you go into the game with normal expectations. You will most likely find a really good game. I was surprised how much I enjoy ESO.
I just bought the game and installing it, to be honest i am expecting to have fun in ESO, i was never a huge fan of Elder Scrolls but i did play Oblivion and Skyrim and i was impressed, and i hope this game is fun to quest and do stuff
If you go into TESO thinking it will change your life you will be disappointed . But it is a solid MMO.
Glad to hear it! I also was never a big elder scrolls fan. I have Morrowwind, Oblivion and Skyrim. I honestly could never get into them. I also felt (especially with Skyrim) they played like single player mmos. But, even when I didn't have a great opinion about the game in beta. I gave it a shot at launch. I am resubbing the next upcoming month and am having a really fun time. Bonus, my wife loves the game. So, we have a new mmo to play together again.
Nice to hear i am on disc 3 now lol and 1 more to go after + patches, i am glad i did not chose to download it....having boxed game is always better
Is vr10 stronger in pvp than a vr1?
Tips to get your mount as fast as posible.
No crafting untill you get mount.
Sell anything you find / weapons / gear / jewelry / trash
Dont ever repair your gear but replace broken gear with trash gear you find
After you get your mount and want to craft i advise you to find a crafting buddy as the most exp you can get is deconstructing other crafters items.
So trade your crafted items with him / her and then deconstruct it.
Start researching traits as soon as posible and /zone ask specific traits if you need one or ask this inside your guild.
You can join up to 5 player guilds so make sure you join 1 or 2 trade guilds.
If you have a solid pc download Radeonpro and Sweetfx 1.4 with a nice preset to get rid of the console look from ESO.
You can also download Sweetfx 1.5 and throw it into you client map where the eso.exe is located so you dont need Radeonpro.
Sweetfx presets found here: http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/game/467/
Be prepared to play trough 250+ hours of quests before reaching V10 and that is with alot of skipping dialogs.
Once you reach Veteran rank 1 do all Public Dungeons / Dolmans / World Bosses or you get into trouble and come short if massive chunks of exp.
Check what builds are solid and try figuring out what is bugged as alot of skills in ESO arent cutting it at Veteran ranks.
This means you might need a respec and that alone might cost you around 15k/20k gold or more.
Dont become a vampire early on as most Deadra and especialy the last fight before Veteran rank = 1 shotted by titans and the final boss.
This apply's also in veteran zones Dolmans / some public dungeons.
I did it the hard way and while it was doable it can frustrate your nuts off if you get a fireball on your ass and you get incinirated :P
PM me if you have anymore question m8 o/
Yes.
The way it currently works, you become eligible to go to the PVP zone @ level 10.
Level 10 to 49 players get bolstered to level 50 and all have the same stats. They differ only in which active and passive abilities they have unlocked and leveled. Some of the abilities take a while to unlock so a level 49 has some advantage over a level 10.
Once you level to 50 (referred to as Veteran Level 1 or VR1) you no longer get bolstered and your true stats are used in PVP. You will have an advantage over any bolstered player because of that.
The veteran ranks run from 1-10 and will soon go up to 12. Each VR rank is slightly better than the preceding one due to an automatic bump-up in stats each level and slightly better gear each level.
In the coming 1.1 patch (about a week away) they are bumping up the stats for bolstered players a bit more to make them more competitive but even now they can compete to some extent.
I have a VR5 sorcerer and also a level 25ish Nightblade Archer. I use them both in PVP and have fun with both. My lowbee archer has much better range, stamina and stealth than my sorcerer so he's actually a better scout and solo sniper.

I think ESO has the greatest potential for a long-term endgame.
Yes, there is PVP (not without faults) but it has a solid foundation for great things.
Yes, there are raids but the end-game doesn't seem to revolve around it.
Based on comments from devs, I believe we will eventually see an end-game with a variety of fun, engaging activities. Players will focus on one part of it or enjoy all of it.
Your run to 50 may feature quest that will benefit from the aid of another player of two (but usually this is a matter of you simply returning a few levels later and typically happens when your moving through a set of quests faster than probably intended).
1) I got the Imperial and having a mount was nice and all but found myself not using it allot of the times due to my love for this game, exploring and enjoying the scenery, by the time i actually started to use the horse a little more i had plenty to buy one.
2) No clue, homing in on nearly 200 hours and only have a level 22 and level 18, enjoying the journey far too much to worry about leveling or end game at this point in time, and at this rate wont be something i'll need to worry about for a long time coming.
3) Solo BUT... i really love how you can venture along side other players in dungeons and get credit for kills, ect. So no you are not in a group or need a group but having those other players there, allot of the time i appreciate the help, keeps my death ratio lower, lol.
^This is pretty accurate

1. To be fair the only way I used mount before I got the one for 40k was extra capacity (around 20-25 extra slots by then). If you don't intend to fix on PvP right from the beginning the you should not be really concerned with the lack of mount.
2. Cyrodiil is not really that much of an endgame unless you say that endgame starts shortly after character creation. After you hit level 50 you have 10 veteran ranks to get + first adventure zone is coming. Adventure zones are going to be probably only for veteran characters. Also rank 1-10 veteran content is simply leveling content for other factions than yours. Just scaled to level 50.
3. All fighter's guild, mages guild and main story quests are designed as solo quests. The only content you want a group for right now is: party dungeons, open dungeons, Cyrodiil (although here you may as well play solo too), dark anchors and open world bosses. Note that game is still facing problem of bad class, weapon skills and also mob balance. There are also some bugs that make some content harder than intended (but then Zenimax is actively working on it so that probably should not scare you).
Obviously because of gear and attributes. You can still gank a higher level though if your build is good enough as compared with the other party.

Hi Hi,
I play a vet 10 ranked NightBlade
A few thing to note If you love solo questing with a 5 skills max u will love this game.
This is really a consoule, solo quest game currently.
You will not reach a point where you are Powerfull per say like of the mmos. Example a lot of the classes can not take down 3 npcs easly which you will encounter even in the solo dungons.
For the public dungons u will deffinatly need a group.
IF you love a challenge you will love eso.
The game currently is very buggy and if you are standing where your quest show you need to be you may have to log out and back to see the npc you need to talk to.
The game world is kinda dab dull brown so its not as colerfull as say gw2 or wow at all.
The pvp 3 way fight is all on one map so it tends to turn into a huge zerg lag fest with a few stealh teams cutthing off reinforcemtnts for the main fight=zerg.
You will grow in power 1-50, then bamm when you hit the vet levels it will be changeling.
The 12 man raid and 4 man zone is not in the live game yet for vet 11 and 12.
Hope this helps.
I hope you have fun playing that way, but allot of it would pull the fun right from me.
You honostly play that way?, I don't want to insult you but when I read it I really was like "WOW do people play this game that way????"
But honostly if I would play that way I would be bored beyond believe. Definitly wouldn't be playing ESO.
But as said if you are having fun that way go for it ,don't mind my opinion. And I am sure my gamestyle would most likely bore you to death.....no worry's
