I've read that WS caters heavily to raiders. Is that all there is to do at endgame? Or is there plenty to do crafting, socializing, path-wise, housing, etc.?
Thanks!

Ok, so this will seem like a little snarky but you read about it catering to raiders but you didn't read anything else? cause there is everything you just asked about in hundreds of articles and videos all over the place.
Yes there is other things to do at endgame, including Pvp progression.
+1
A good article about WS with lots of info

Call me crazy, but I thought I might seek out advice from others on a gaming forum meant for discussion.
Very helpful, thanks for not being a dick.
You didn't ask for advice....you asked if there was anything else -
your quote -> "Is that all there is to do at endgame?"
that question is what I meant is answered on hundreds of articles.
- then you tell the other poster that he was "very helpful" just because he linked an article.
this very site has tons of Wildstar articles, no link required.
Yes thank you as well, I apprciate the link and not responding with the typical MMORPG D-Bag response. Tried out the Beta this weekend without alot of prior knowledge of the game and loved it, was curious as well what endgame had in store for a semi casual.
Aloha Mr Hand !
And I was provided a link to a very helpful one, with someone else's knowledge saving me the time of having to sort through "tons" of articles on my own. For this, I am thankful.
I did not watch EVERY stream or feature video, but what i saw so far was always PvP or raids featured, while PvE was always just talk.
"yes yes, as to PvE we will do this and we will have that... but now make sure to check out our new raid video and awesome PvP clip!"
So i guess that is their focus.
I started reading that article but was immediately put off by this comment "The starting experience is as polished as the end game experience."
Because if that's true...
The Enlightened take things Lightly
After reading that i felt just like after reading pamflet i got in a mail that said my undies will be so much whiter and have more "spark" if i use detergent x.
Instead of reading through that just go with "its best damn MMO EVAR!" as they advertising campaign, it will save you time and it is as legit as that link.
Yes, game is based on endgame raiding, with menial stuff to do when not raiding. If youre not into endgame dungeons/raiding it will be very bland experience unfortunately.
whoever wrote this article must have not played beta, the Beta is full of bugs that I hope get fixed before the game is released.

Ooohhh, I must have missed the memo on how awesome Soldiers are. I wasnt very happy with the explorer path but hadnt taken the time to look at the alternates. Thanks for the link!

Polished = bug free and complete. Thats no comment on the difficulty and fun factor of the endgame versus the simplicity of the tutorial beginning.
I believe you are combining the terms "casual" and "bad". Bad players will have GREAT difficulty in clearing content. I've played with plenty of highly skilled "casual" players to know that there is a very big difference.
I, for one, welcome the idea that bad players will not clear content.

Damn good writeup. Makes me want to play it more then I do. Thanks for posting.
I think the OP's question is very fair given that hardcore raiders have terrorized the forums and certain other social sites, with the message that, "this is our game." Carbine has done very little to put this in check, or to explain (adequately) what options there are outside of raiding.
To the OP's question-
Pvp
Crafting
Questing- they've confirmed additional solo style content, including storyline solo dungeons early on post launch
Playing with your house
Public quests
Or, getting to raids at a slower pace than the hardcore.
