you cant really call a game thats 2 years out an alpha...its just re localization
The game has not been released yet here in EU/US. It's in pre-release state. No matter what you have learned alpha MUST mean, there can be different kind of alphas. Everyone who can read and can be bothered to research for 10 min knows this is not your standard alpha and that it's for localisation purposes. But it's still alpha and we call it alpha and will call it alpha, than beta, than release.
I'm afraid you'll just have to deal with it.
p.s. If you wanna convince people about something, at least you should learn to properly do your research - game was released in Korea 1year and 3 months ago.
That is a blatant lie. There is next to zero discussing anything on those god forsaken forums. Perhaps one person tries to converse while the rest are asshats. terrible place.
That's a post from a player on the Russian servers? Where's an official forum post from a US server/Alpha/Founder player concerning hacks and bots?
i dont get why you people dont see that Trion is just a publisher who gets to translate it... besides hosting ingame events n doing increased exp weekends and things like that... all they can do with the game is translate it and translate patches to patch in after XLgames does it, they have no say over changing any core gameplay mechanics or anything like that.. they are just publishing, they are renting a license to provide service to the game. that is all.
The amount of "La la la cant hear you la la la theres nothing wrong" is amazing.
Trion would have to reprogram the game and make everything thats client side be server side instead.
That would not be easy nor done quickly. It would take months to reprogram the game then the changes would have to be extensively tested to make sure they didnt screw the game up more than what it already was.
Question: Did you read the thread OP linked?
Question: Did you do any research on this subject before making these assertions?
It seems that there are actually a lot of hack detection programs in place in the current live version of the game, and that perhaps a big reason for the Alpha / Beta phase of the US version is to custom tailor a patch for the NA version that includes all the quality of life changes and hack / bot fixes that are in the later patches of the Korean / Russian versions of the game, minus some of the progression so they can save that for progressing their game at a similar rate it was when it was released in Korea.
That is what one would have gathered if they had done the research and read the threads.
It seems you didn't, no offense.
after 20min in google and 15min in game, i'm here to tell you any "detection or fixes" they have are non exsistant on the russian servers... good times.

IT really depends on the agreement both sides reached. Trion may have stated that they will request to make certain changes to the game. Yhat tells me that part of the agreement between the two is that XL games is being paid by Trion not only for the rights to publish but also to make adjustments to the game. I don't think Trion could request to make any major adjustments but probably just minor adjustments.
LOL, the game is in alpha and we already have doom and gloom posts I mean COME ON........
Every game has bots it's all in how they handle them come release...... I see no sign of Trion just letting the bots run rampant, I mean why bother with the title just to let it go down the toilet with bots and hacks? As far as my knowledge Trion has always been one of the better MMO companies so why ruin it with this mess?
And the good news here is they still have time to deal with it the game probably wont be out at least for a couple months if not more....
The game is not in Alpha.. when are people going to realise that this game is already released in two other regions? It's the SAME game. The only thing they are doing in alpha is localization and optimizing the servers.. NOT patching the game independently.
Trion did say they were only taking the positively received parts of all the patches then went into the korean version though, not sure if that's what you were referring to.
No, Trion did not say that "they were only taking the positively received parts". What they said is that they "were working closely with XLGames regarding elements of the game that may not be well-suited to western audiences".
The ultimate decision of what is included and what is not rests with XLGames. Trion assure us that they have a "good relationship with XLGames" (whatever that means), and the implication is that XLGames will try their best to exclude or disable content/systems that Trion doesn't think will go down well with the NA/EU players.
Trion doesn't get to change game code. They translate text and audio and make suggestions regarding contents. XLGames does the actual coding.
So Trion has no influence on the type of botting or goldseller activity in the game. All they can do is use the tools provided by XLGames to find bots. Trion can ban accounts once the bots have been identified.

+1 otherwise all the people whining about cars being in the game would have got their way and wouldnt be in the US version, them saying that they can pick and choose what they want is marketing fluff, i'm here to tell you... being able to play on russian servers and as far as i know it's not far if at all behind korean servers, that for example, that clientside memory hack to spam the ability so it basically 1 shots everything... still works.
I'm level 40 now, and really enjoying the game. I have yet to see any of these things happen as of yet as the OP declares. To each his own I suppose, as you're missing out on something good in my opinion.
I have seen 0 bots and 0 hacks. I have heard of a couple of hacks and bots existing a few weeks back, but the hack-guard anti-cheat softwares seems to be doing its job with its own updates.
I nvr understood how people cheating could have any impact on my gameplay whatsoever, as we are not competing!
I play at my own pace, and I give a shit if someone else cheated to get a faster mount, more gold, whatever.
It's my feeling that cheating or a few bugs in a sandbox-style game aren't really important at all! A lot of the best times you can have in a sandbox are when things are unexpected and do not work as planned.
If you are talking about a themepark game like WS however, it's a different story; there is a rule set in place and it shouldn't be altered too much.
No clue what the OP is ranting about, we don't have any such issues in AA and I see no threads coming up about hacks or bots. Hell even the prison system would come back to haunt you if enough people think your hacking, But if writing threads like this makes those that don't have a job feel better, so be it.
Heck, from what I can tell, more Russian and other players are coming to the Trion version just because of the anti-hacking in the game, many have stated so.
"The monster created isn't by the company that makes the game, it's by the fans that make it something it never was"

But I give a shit about bots in a sandbox.
If you cheat and get enough money to unbalance the auction house it effects the economy.
If you cheat and get enough to make and keep 8 large homes or more.....it effects players who actually want to place a home but can't since 20 cheaters decided to buy up all the home spots and attempt to sell them for real money to highest bidder.
You see where I am going with this. I agree about the mount thing to a point. There is a strong pvp aspect to this game though and I would hate to see some full guilds in elite gear running around on epic mounts with full armor and the fastest gliders with pirate ships blowing everyone up since they all cheated to get the stuff within the first 2 weeks the game releases. That would be horrible and sink the game.....which is just stupid.
I have seen 0 bots and 0 hacks. I have heard of a couple of hacks and bots existing a few weeks back, but the hack-guard anti-cheat softwares seems to be doing its job with its own updates.
Well obviously, who's going to pay in $150 to bot and/or hack? Wait until it's released. (For the record I am also playing now and my only problem is all the land is gone.)

"good relationship with XL Games" simply means they have been paid. If Trion stops paying XL Games then it becomes a bad relationship. Simple as that.
"Trion can't fix it because they can't recode the game".
Thank god for the Internet, where else can the uniformed talk like they know what they're saying.
Obviously i nor anyone else know it to be 100% fact but i do know for FACT that this is how it USUALLY works.Publishers do NOT code the game and even bug information gets transferred to the developer to fix. That does not mean that in some cases the publisher is not allowed to make modifications but it would be on rare occasions like something already worded in the contract. For example Publishers are often allowed to hold events and set that up.
I highly doubt any contract would allow a publisher a free ride to change code whenever they want.
It doesn't matter anyhow,no matter what Publisher or developer you want to mention, they are ALL lazy, none of them take preventative measures but usually ONLY act when the players start to complain.
I quit my once favorite game because i could not stand all the bots ruining the economy and all the cheating as well.It took several years for that developer to finally make a move and only because of tons of player feedback. That developer was Square Enix and to this day i have not seen any dev take as many anti cheat and anti bot measures as Square, however i believe that effort has been totally forgotten, they are once again lazy like all the rest of them.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
I have been streaming and playing RU and NA. The past 5 months and posting on here. You guys all seen that. I have not seen one bot in NA. They do exist in RU but even as of the last month they have been dealt with.
Also as a programmer I can tell no game is safe. Every single game and I mean every single one has a trainer program that can hack it. The key is catching the hackers, which is a lot harder to do then you think. So to say ArcheAge is plague with hackers is a lie. Every mmo can be hacked ALL of them. The difference in each game is how well companies combat it.
Because you literally almost cannot ever stop it from happening. Also RU isn't over run with bots that's a plain lie. OP must of never played on it at all. It has gold spammers "what game doesn't these days?" But no one killing anything anywhere or abusing hacks. Because that is too easily spotted by admins. If they did that they not sticking around like active community people.
The only mainstream game right now. You can see active hacking in your face all the time is Age of Wushu. All the rest of the games are in the same boat. So stop being a drama momma OP stop lying. And the rest of you following him grow up. It's not cool to spread lies for no reason. Or atleast know the industry and hacking. Before you follow some noob whose link spamming.
Bots are inside each and every mmo. Dont like it ? dont play mmo's. This is not oging to change.
Studio's all do diffrent things to counter those bots, some more visible some more sneaky. Some studio's just keep a treshhold it seems as most of those bots generate income so banning all bots is a large chunk of money so they keep it minimal and under the radar.
There are mmo's where its out of control like ESO 100 bot trains....and gamemasters telling they are comming online in 15 minutes to band bots <------ye isnt that a bright move from Zenimax......
Thing is as long aspeople keep buying gold items materials from those site's they arent going away. Its lazy players who are supporting these gold sellers / bot army's. They should IP / perma ban both players and bots each day to keep this under control. But many studio's just doesnt want to give up on that $$$$ they bring in each month.

I say it was less then 10 in all that time. So G T F O lying and trolling.
