The problem is not knowing if we are wasting our time because the servers are not actually up, or because it just sheer volume and people are getting in a few at a time.
I can occasionally get passed the initial login and onto the authenticator input screen but then it times out. I would have tried disabling it but the account page is down
It looks like they underestimated the games popularity after all, sounds a lot like what happened in FF XIV'ARR when it relaunched, they didnt think as many people would return for it as they did, and had to put a halt on game sales for a while!
But the clock is ticking and they need to deal with it quickly, i find it hard to believe that NCSoft didnt have some kind of 'contingency' plans in place
Would it help if they gave an "Estimated Launch Time" instead? Or can you guys just accept that MMO launch times are like doctors appointments and you'll have to wait just a bit longer than you want to get in?

Unless they got an influx of 1000's of last minute sales I don't see how that's possible. This is Headstart after all, which comes with pre-orders.

In the end the first day, especially of headstart, is meaningless. It took SE several weeks until FFXIV could be logged into reliably and it hasnt hurt them at all.
Why don't developers just open the servers abit earlier then they announce? This happens every time.
ESO did this. The servers went up about 30 min early and the impatient people got in early and everyone else got in at the announced time. That was also early on a Sunday morning..... Really who didn't see this happening having early access on a Saturday?

Well it looks like the servers are experiencing a debloated DoS event. Will have to wait till they cool out, i guess that a couple hours more for sure.
A message from the developers to us all about the current situation, would be useful though.
Follow Wildstar on twitter for updates. Although there isnt much there right now except vine videos of them toasting with the champagne (said in my very best Continental voice).
Current: BDO Looking forward to: Crowfall & Chronicles of Elyria

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
It doesn't look like much is happening here does it. I've got a sense that it's going to be some time before people are in.
Taking the game forum down is usual for MMO releases because when they invariably don't go smoothly, people don't get to post their hate.

NP, I don't actually use Twitter - but Carbine seem to update there most often and the forums are hard to get working atm, lol.
