I am a 39 year old married man with 2 daughters younger than 10. I've been playing my imperial sorcerer for 2 months very casually due to other commitments. My sorcerer is only level 25.
This is how I view the game so far.
Art
The world looks pretty nicely put together and overall quality of art is high. Higher resolution textures would make it look even better for those with a high-end graphics card.
Audio
Nice music, sound effects and very nice voice overs. More voice actors needed as I can detect reuse of one voice actor/actress for multiple characters.
Animation
The animation in the characters is a bit unnatural however I read that it is going to be improved in a future version.
Quests
Although the quest NPCs are fully voiced, which is nice, it seems like the game makes me out to be some kind of super hero. I seem to save every town I come across, usually single-handedly. I know its just a game but I think a bit more "realism" in this area would help stop the older players from rejecting this game due to this being a form of "childish or immature fantasy". I prefer "realistic fantasy" which is not an oxymoron if you think about it. Perhaps asking me to play a lesser role in some quests, making some quests more challenging and others of a greater duration would reduce the feeling of a "quest treadmill".
World Size
A greater distance between towns would be more interesting and allow there to be more public dungeons and ruins to explore, both of which I think more are needed. Perhaps a time to run between towns of 1 hour (or 15 minutes by horse) would be more akin to "realistic fantasy".
Explorer Leveling
More experience points for exploring and clearing out public dungeons/places of interest and killing named creatures. Make it possible to level up without doing quests.
More public dungeons, ruins, towers, castles, etc. that exist only for getting new items and experience points. This is feature from the single player Elder Scrolls games which I enjoyed.
Spells
More spells like levitate, dimension door, fly, telekinesis, arrow shield, far scrying etc. Perhaps a high magicka cost or higher vulnerability to arrows and melee weapons would ensure that this is balanced.
I haven't gotten to end game so I cannot comment on other features such as PVP and high end equipment.
I wonder if anyone else is similarly minded regarding the above features.
Peace,
James

Some good ideas there. I would like to see more content where you need a small group or at least two of you. Not dungeons but just some of the outdoor stuff beefed up. Giants would be good; maybe carrying a decent amount of gold. I stopped playing because there was no real need to group with wifey, as we normally play together. All of the quests dropped pretty much the same junk and the mobs always drop a couple of gold only. Beautiful world, but boring gameplay with too many re-used assets put me off in the end. Vanguard had the lonely towers and a huge sense of adventure... just too many bugs although it was a flawed gem and I enjoyed my time there.
I really hope the devs can fix ESO as it could be a decent game; however, they may have missed the boat as not too many return after a game starts so roughly. Some of the basic design features just do not work. I would give it another shot but wifey has given up on it.
