Sony Online Entertainment has announced that a new continent has been added to PlanetSide 2. Hossin is now available for players to explore and will present a challenge to players due to the unforgiving nature of the environment.
"Hossin is a massive new continent that will introduce an entirely new type of battle experience to PlanetSide 2. With its swamp-like terrain and natural barriers, players combat skills will be challenged like never before. Facilities and bases are scattered throughout, making infantry combat the most important it's ever been," said Matt Higby, Creative Director, PlanetSide 2. "Hossin adds an insane element to PlanetSide 2's ground / air combat strategy. We are eager to hear community feedback, particularly since Hossin will be continuously updated and enhanced for a long time to come."

Thats because Indar is a well designed continent.
Depending on where youre fighting it favors air attacks, heavy armor assaults, infantry assaults, mixed forces, fast ground assaults, or air assaults, at the same time while limiting one or two of the other combat styles.
It also has open terrain, open terrain with cover, and bottled-necked terrain for focused assaults and/or defenses. None of the other continents has all that, and being as well balanced as Indar.

They're testing a mechanic which prevents re-spawn to a dominated map. Which is supposed to counter the Indar only problem... not sure how it actually works in practice as keep getting patch after patch when I try to play

Nice....
Battle islands are next and then Searhus, the tropical hell... Tho considering SOE's speed with introducing new content, I suppose we have years to wait yet.
