It will take time to restore the credibility and faith to MMORPG after this scenario. Sorry Bill, but I think you should accept the blame and take the credit yourself as the "man" of the website.

They really need to prevent "duplicate/fabricated/fake" accounts from participating somehow or its going to be 1000x times worse.

Issue is given how easy it is to inject scripts into Chrome you can basically botnet multiple accounts spamming out everyone else so that they have a better chance of getting keys, This happened today.

It's sad knowing that 80% of the keys will be on ebay as we speak.

Even though they are partner with the MMORPG, I think they should take the rest of the keys and distribute them through Battlenet instead. At least the contest would've been manged correctly that way...

for the ppl saying stuff happens, yes it does but when it comes down to a wana-be proffesional site. you dont fuck up and say o lets continue screwing up and do it the wrong way. and then at the end say we fucked up and then we knew it and fucked up on purpose. thx for coming see u again next week.

it would have been better and less reason to be pissed if they did what they said and did updates, post pone, or even make up for there mistake. hell even stating the post location b4 hand would have made all the ppl here happier

They sure do mouth off a lot for people that will never use the site nor contribute to the site.

Why these give away's are such a PITA to the regulars of sites like this. You get these types, and do your regular contributors such a disservice into the bargain.

You definitely set yourself up for a lose lose situation but after you realised you did you would have been better off and saving face by just postponing the give-a-way till the next day with no time frame but just POSTING it on your MAIN page instead! But then again, what the hell do I know.

As a long term follower of this website, I am very disappointed in this matter. The writing staff is very unprofessional, the website admin is a joke and over all quality of the site has gone down hill so much since I first joined. I don't post a lot but I did enjoy the beta key giveaways and even won some physical items back when they actually gave away hard copies of games. I will no longer support this site and I think it would be smart for other community members and game corporations to withdraw their mutual support as well. I know you can care less about me as a single member of the mmorpg.com community and will most likely not even read this at all but I had to put my anger into a constructive post vs. a blunt anger flame post.

I was actually 1 of the lucky few to get a key I sat here since 1 hr before the contest started and had 4 different pages finaly found the right page took ages for the site to load tho man kept getting the message

I've been on this site for a long time, and usually mmorpg.com handles key give-aways really well, this was uh, the opposite, i cant really sympathize with the people who made accounts here just today to try and get one, but i can sympathize with anyone whos upset over how this was handled(IE, it -wasn't- handled). To post them under the old link with no word, then knowing your site is getting crushed by people who don't know they're all gone to just let them keep wasting their time, well thats just shitty. And also, all the people commenting on how they said they didn't see this coming, again, yea right mmorpg.com, you didn't see a WoW beta key giveaway causing high demand coming, sorry, but this isn't the beta for wow classic release when that excuse could have flown, you knew damn well so that is a croc of shit. I give not 1 shit if i get banned for this post, i only come here for the news anyway and i can get that other places now.
