Without PvEers the PvPers have no victims to grind success and as soon they find out the crowd left will bite back the PvP Death Spiral beginns and another mmo is destroyed bcs Wolves do not want eat Wolves in the long run.
Agree. As soon as it is realized this is another ganking game, you will see players leaving.
What do you mean another ganking game? There hasn't been an open pvp game like this for years.
Take a wild guess why.
Because people think an mmorpg should be a single player rpg experience with instanced endgame repetitive content. These are not the features that made me go "wow" when i first played an mmorpg.
When "gankers" start finding choke points on trade routes in game, noone will be safe to pass thru with any wares.
It will become well known and PvPers will flock to them sitting in wait to gank you and take your wares.
Best bring friends to protect you while you travel with a pack full of goodies...Just like the Old UO days.
Seen it happen and it WILL happen!
I'm sure there will be APKer's (Anti-Player Killer) guilds ingame also to help those in need or to pursue a known PK.
For the record: I am an APKer but if it all works as intended, I sure will watch my back (or hire players from an APK guild) while traveling down the road with freshly baked Apple Pies for the mayor of the adjacent town.
Just have to be smart, travel light if you know you will be going thru dangerous territory. Always have backup weapons, gear, tools in your bank/house in case you DO meet your demise.
You can make this game fun if you just get away from the "hand holding" mentality. Do things, learn from them, get better.
In a PvP centric game you will not "level" to max fast, you will die...ALOT.
Have fun, learn and move on. You will enjoy it.
So what if you get ganked, keep getting back up.

If you are that out of touch with what the criticisms are for the game, you probably would be making a better use of your time going off and reading about the game instead of posting some uninformed commentary.
Posts like the OP are an indication as to why it's not a good idea to be jumping into Early Access games. There's no guarantee the final product is going to be the same as the one being played and the role of early access players in shaping the game is very muddy. I read through the patch notes for 1.2 and it sounds generally positive, with the only down side being they removed guildastar traders in what I'm assuming are PvE zones.
Given the early state of the game, it's likely a test to see how the community reacts to the change. If it doesn't effect the community too much they will probably leave the change implemented.
I think I was A/A's biggest fan boy........The game was gonna be tough for us PVE'ers.....but still fun!
With the new patch they have effectively destroyed the game for the PVE crowd.......No reason for us to stay here....
Why would any PVE'er hang around with the current scheme?
And who will the wolves now have to gank?
Grats to the PVP crowd.....You now have YOUR game.......
Enjoy!
You believe they destroyed PvE by boosting exp for crafting and PvE mob kills....go figure. And PvP players bitch becasue it is not open worl PvP everywhere and they can do full loot PvP. In fact pvP death is just more of a small nuisance than anything. Castle sieges will be a blast though. Oh well this is MMORPG.com forums so I guess this thread makes as much sense as most of the troll threads
I suck at PVP and would be happy to oblige another sheep passing by. I am interested in trying the PVE/crafting in this game and if I happen to get good I would venture to Piracy. If I don't become good (which is the more likely scenario) I will buy mats that I cannot find depending on my virtual wallet of course.
Well after reading through the main forums and looking at the mechanics I think I see why people are angry about the currency changes. Basically, they got rid of intercontinental trading for a necessary currency. This forces players to cross into an enemy factions territory in order to trade for said necessary currency, only there is a problem: The PvP flag system makes it so that players can not defend themselves unless they are attacked first, and even then only that particular person may defend himself: no allies can assist the player.
This presents a pretty nasty problem. Lets say you have a guild of 100 people doing a zerg run for currency and they enter the enemy territory. All that it takes to wipe out that entire 100 man team is a pair of players, who can methodically pick off the 100 man group one member at a time (remember, only the person attacked may defend himself, everyone else is locked out from pvp).
This sounds like a deeper problem than simply losing PvE content. This is more like people are losing their only avenue to avoid griefing by design.

Wait. Do I understand correctly? When you are on enemy territory you are not allowed to attack the enemy, but have to wait till the enemy attacks you first?

What kind of PvP system is that? That sucks.
Only in safe zones (1-30), 30+ zones you can attack anyone. For safe zones you can't attack enemies but they can attack you at any time. However after they attack you you can attack them. That is if the ones that attacked you weren't all lvl 50s else you are dead.
Also to the one you quoted. If you actually red something you'd have also red that you can get gilda stars with daily quests. Too temepark? Get a guild and do trade runs, they are not solo content..The flagging system sucks? Go to a lvl 30+ zone.
the bad thing about chasing pvers off is you will lose a large percentage of your sales. PVE players are more likely to buy from the cashshop then PVPers, not to mention PVP games tend to have a toxic community.

and the claims that people thought they were gonna add pve server for the pve'rs was just silly..they are not gonna change much in this game..it fell flat in 2 other countrys why do soo many think it will be SOO different here? cuz its MERICA?
The game would do better here if they had some sort of PVE that wont get you killed by other players. Normally i would love to play this game, sadly i have to avoid pvp at all cost even FPS due to my heart. It limits my experience with pvp. But if its anything like some of the other pvp games then it will flop within a year or two.

yah cuz clearly the real legit players that sit in most pve groups that complain every 20 seconds about how bad the healer is..or OMFG THIS GUY TANKING GAAWD!
you cant seriously sit there and say ya..pvp communitys are toxic because pve communtiys are just as bad or far worse..maybe you have just been playing the wrong games or not enuff or possibly not playing with a community of people in the first place
and pve players are more likely to buy more from cash shops? geesh from what i hear anything with a cash shop for pvpers drool over just to roll faces of people that wont buy
Ive been playing for a while now and im fine with the changes and you dont have to do trade runs to get gilda stars theres dailys and such might take you longer but you can do it and farming exp it uped so lv with that this game is alot of fun and the changes isnt as bad as some says yes it takes a little longer to get items you want but with a good guild and some balls you oh my go to the other land and face some scary reds you can do everything you were doing befor .
If you took a few moments to READ, something you seem incapable of doing. I said they TEND to be toxic. From what i have seen from other pvp games are three things. Players develop and ego, They tend to troll or harass new players, and lastly they seem to be more self centered then those who. Now do not get me wrong i know a lot of PVErs who act this way. but when it comes down to playing their class....they suck. PVPers tend to act like jerks because well....they can especially to lower levels who cant fight back.

look ar the garbage games that are released for the last few years, how they cattered to the PvE crowd, how failed they all were.
Gimme the good old days PvE PvP games where you lost XP when you died, when you had to fight other players to get to kill a boss for an epic loot. Gimme the DAOC, Warhammer online RvR when you had to group up with friends to stomp a zerg with a small man (and nope, ESO, GW2 both failed HARD in that dpt).

Why not pay someone to get the mats for you?
mmo's used to be about player interaction. Not logging in and only having to play by yourself.
You want mats? pay someone handsomely for it. Or offer them a trade.
