SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

The Neverwinter site has been updated with welcome news for players. The team has announced that the Scourge Warlock will be accompanying Module 4: Tyranny of Dragons!

Scourge Warlocks are powerful magic users, channeling shadowy benefactors to destroy any enemy who dares stand in their way. Scourge Warlocks focus on dealing heavy damage to isolated or grouped foes by utilizing dark magical abilities.

We can’t wait to tell you more about the newest class, so be sure to check back often for more updates as we work towards the launch of Module 4.

Read more about the Scourge Warlock and other events planned for Module 4 on the Neverwinter site.

i started playing again and saw new class symbol in there with axes and stuff. So this is it. Looking forward to it. However, since you do exactly the same content with every character ill take a break until the new class arrives. Not fond of repeating the same content too many times and i got like 3 low lvl classes to level up. Not gonna happen. This warlock will be the one.

Actually, with the foundry Neverwinter is one MMORPG where you NEVER have to do the same content twice. You can very much level up entirely doing user created content.

Same, in the last couple months I've neglected the game (was too busy in other games...), but this warlock sounds interesting for a new playthrough.

(on a sidenote, D is great, both the movies and the manga, cool name :) )

And some of it is actually quite good. Rivaling the studio created content I'd say.

Well I'll definitely be going back to Neverwinter after this announcement.  Scourge Warlock is going to be hella fun to play.

Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!

Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!

Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!

Great news. I'd like to see them speed up the release of new classes, though. Maybe another healing class next?

Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?

Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.

This game has great UCG. I do think it can keep the game from feeling the same. With that said you still kind of "need" or will want to run at least the story campaign to unlock areas and such. Also the reward system for foundry quests needs to be improved. Foundry quests shouldn't be all about rewards, but they need something to make the looting more fun.

This was my biggest issue with the Foundry, my 2nd biggest issue was you couldn't design boss fights.

it would be nice if the main storyline had different paths based on race and perhaps class. Thats what i mean by repeating content. I totally forgot about the foundry so yeah that will give some variety to the leveling, but the main storyline is still the same with every character.

There are class and race quests. They don't change the main storyline, but they do offer minor story differences if you're leveling characters of another class or race. I don't think they added class quests for the hunter ranger for some odd reason...

Could we please get a melee cleric now? Bad enough that alignment and deity choice have been reduced to fluff, us cleric lovers (because DnD is the only game which does healers right, IMO) would like to be able to play one which doesn't rely on HOLY LAZORZ. Hell, at least give us an alternative ranged option which can rebuke (control) undead as opposed to turning (destroying) dead, and / or focus on damage instead of healing. Clerics could be really badass damage dealers in 3.5 (I wouldn't touch 4.0 with a ten foot pole).

AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!

We are born of the blood. Made men by the blood. Undone by the blood. Our eyes are yet to open. FEAR THE OLD BLOOD.

This is one of those games I usually take a look at when the new content comes along. It's a fun little secondary game for me and have been waiting on this whole warlock thing forever. Hoping the class is fun enough for another play quick play through.

I second that bards and raise you a scald! And maybe a little depth to the game would be nice too. It is waaaay too shallow and arcadey to deserve the D&D name.

They are a real damage dealer, really start to shine around level 20.

That "new class" symbol you saw has been their since beta.  I wouldn't take that as a sure know that a new class is around the corner.  After the warlock launches, that symbol will still be there.

Other classes - GW, GWF, CW are getting various adjustments (nerfs/boosts) call them what you will in line for the next Module 4, due for release 14th August.

The CW is being revised to accommodate the SW, making this more about control rather than out and out dps.

The GWF was considered to be OP in various aspects and has been hit.

Consequently the respective class feedback forums are.............."lively" to say the least.
