Just got a beta invite, is it worth downloading?
Just curious if anyone has found the beta / game to be enjoyable.

it greatly depends on your gaming background and what you have experienced.
On average I would say yes because the game shows features that many 'mainstream' MMO players are unfamilar with.

My two favorite MMORPGs of all time are RuneScape, and FFXI.
Both were very Western in art-style. It's something I miss in most MMORPG these days. You'd think, with all the MMORPGs coming out of the West, we'd have Western RPGS...but we don't, just copies of WoWs cartoon armors. Or some psuedo asian design to appeal to hardcore anime lovers..
Sadly, FFXIV, XI's sequel, is far more Asian heavy. I know it's an asian game, but I liked that XI was unique that in coming from Asia, and Western armor looks way cooler on Tanks than the Asian half-tank top armor :P

I am not a fan of the asain style either and speaking of western. I am still waiting for an old west mmo. I think that would rock (if done right_)

If you don't mind the download, just do it.
Something that surprised me about the game was how good the combat felt, even though its just tab-targeting like WoW or anything else, it felt much more satisfying.
I appreciate some people can't get past the art style, but if you're the type of person to put up with one bad thing for a bunch of good things.. then its always worth playing a new MMO, because you never really know until you try it for yourself.

Glyph is Trions new multi game updater. You need to download and install glyph and then from there you can install ArcheAge.
I think AA is worth it. I have been playing it every day for the last two months and I am still having a blast. There are a lot of non-mmo standard activities you can do like treasure hunting, farming, trade pack running. There is a completely standard quest line you can do if you prefer and there are several ways you can enjoy pvp. Not to mention sailing ships. very fun stuff.

The game will be completely free 2 play with a cosmetic cash shop and gliders/boats to buy.
then i might aswell save myself the trouble of going through beta testing and just check it out once released then.. thanks!

No, the store will be P2W with Labor Potions and other gear, maybe not op gear but it is by far not only cosmetic or conveniance store. Think something between Rift store and the current total P2W store that is in its original country.
Been playing since Alpha founders packs launched and my opinion is that it is definitely worth at least trying the game! The necessity for teamwork is refreshing, haven't had this much fun in an MMO for awhile. The guild I'm in put together a fun video, check it out. Why would you even bother posting about an invite if you had no interest in the game ? f2p or not
i had some interest in it at some point obviously.. but seeing as it's a f2p game i might aswell just hold out and wait for the finished product..
and i've ventured into trying out other games since i signed up for the beta.

That might be a mistake.
It's not really "F2P". You can't own land without patron status, and that is massive.
Closed Beta is a way to get the full subscription experience without having to pay $15 a month until you know it's worth it to you.
I think you should take advantage of that if you think you might end up spending a lot of time on this game.
i've got nothing against sub's so if the f2p version hooks me in i'd probably pay for it anyway
