Trion Worlds has announced the commencement of the first closed beta event for ArcheAge. The CBT will run from today through Monday, July 21st. In addition to the news of the closed beta start, Trion also announced that over a million players have signed up for the opportunity to test out the highly-anticipated title.
With this version, we bring you updated combat balance, improvements to the economic game of ArcheAge, and a host of great new features. In ArcheAge you can create a farm and breed native animals for unique mounts, build a ship and travel the high seas to trade in your goods for coin, make a name for yourself crafting the best gear in the game, stalk and slaughter your fellow players, or build your own castle on Auroria!
Our first Closed Beta Event, “A Brighter Age,” starts today, and continues on through Monday, July 21st. This is just the first of our Closed Beta Events! We’ll have events during the week as well as overlapping weekends. We’ll have specifics closer to each event, as the results of a given event will affect the schedule.

Except it is, since this is a beta after all.
Since when is Tuesday a direction?
I miss DAoC
Someone ate their Lucky Charms this morning...lol Most players can't even log in.
I call BS, in no way you could have a house that fast. Takes 9 hours for just one Aspen tree to grow. Then you have to mine all the ore and make lumber from the trees. Nice try though...
I said I had a house and the farm was set. Not enough tax credits to even set the house let alone enough labor points to mine the stone, grow the wood etc and build it
But I got the location I want and soon as I can get the tax credits will set the house in place right on beachfront property
I miss DAoC

maybe the servers being down IS the event.
I should be fair, granted I am not overly impressed with the game but for a AAA MMO its actually pretty good
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
Please do not respond to me
I got to enjoy seeing a WvW amount of people all around me, most of which were just heads and weapons floating through space killing mobs before 90% of the rest of us could even target them.
They're making a new server so that's good. It isn't working for me yet. As betas go it could be better, but it could also be unplayable so there's that...
EDIT: If you're going to list a server as up, it shouldn't throw you out of the game when you try to log into it. It's not up, it's down.
To the MMO community....
What worked for me was right near the top of the suggestion list, I just went into the folder and made the client Admin-approved and ka-ching.
It's more a stress-test than 'play' beta. But yeah, 40K+ keys indeed is quite a lot for only 2 servers... Good thing I'll stay on the alpha server ;-)
But arn't some of the people playing the beta those that paid for it ?

got a spare one Hurry!
Call me picky... but how can a game that has been out in Korea not have the ability to invert the mouse?
The thing that confuses me is: what's the delay with this game?
With each passing month it gets older and older (and already looks just about OK).
Dunno why it's taking so long, but apparently they've not finished all the translations yet, because 2 of the NPC's I clicked on in the first 15 minutes of game play spoke some language that I couldn't understand.
Or perhaps they were part of some foreign faction and my character still has to "learn their language" ?
There's definitely a lot of Korean still floating about in the quest text and some voice overs, aye. Some of the server announcements go out in Korean too lol.
Surely that isn't the end of the world though - it seems bizarre that translations are the core reason for delay.
Yeah there is a bit of Korea still in game. I clicked the stable master before I actually had the quest and he was speaking a very fluent Korean. Plus some of the text symbols after doing a quest popped up in Korean.
Its a bit slow at first with the questing but I did get to level 9 in a few hours of playing Beta. I really enjoy it. Seems pretty open and lots to explore. Though in my faction chat all they were talking about was "wow clone" i doubt it is once your past 30. That row boat was pretty fun. I like the houses you walk in and play with stupid things such as the light or the fire. I have a feeling there will be a lot to do in this game. So far I think its pretty positive!
Did I miss it or is there no paper doll avatar? I feel silly to ask this but i didn't see one last night when I played for a short time.
