OP and the others who say you shouldn't need the 2 step authorization I will agree with. you shouldn't and in a perfect world you wouldn't but as everyone knows this isn't a perfect world so any extra security you can take is always good.
Also to answer, no the game companies do not have to include the 2-step with a purchase. They do offer security with allowing you to have passwords, now extra security, such as 2-step, anti-virus, root-kits, etc, etc, is purely up to you the player.
Now as others have said, somehow your account was hacked and the person who did it did something in-game to get caught so it is up to you to contact NcSoft in order to get this fixed.
Also the charging of another month, well if you signed up for auto-bill pay then it will auto charge you regardless of if you are playing or not. Now since the account is now suspended then come next month you should not be billed.
So if you want the account back, contact support, if not then don't worry about it, but coming to these forums will get you no help from NcSoft but will get you a lot of people pointing their fingers at you saying either you did something or you got hacked, either or both could be true.
Actually this isnt my first subscription based game I played. I havent read the EULA to its fullest but I know when something isnt right. I have however never played a sub based game that had such hacks run rampart such as flying thru shit before your bare eyes. This however goes without saying. I shouldnt be charged money for something then taken away for no reason of mine.
i have to disagree with this not being your first MMO.. honestly, every MMO has hacks running rampant, especially at launch.
Ok OP, I read your post twice and still don't really understand what we are suppose to be aware of. You don't want us to buy "Wilstar" or you are mad because somehow you think they scammed you? If it's the latter how did they scam you? Do you think companies like this take $14.99 from players and then suspend their accounts just for the $14.99? Wouldn't it be smarter to try and keep you around and get a few more $14.99s?
To me it sounds like you didn't use the 2 step system. You more than likely used the same email you used for WoW or some other mmorpg and password. You got hacked and someone was botting around on your account. Someone with botzapper or another addon caught the badguy and turned him in, thus your account was squished.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
Wildstar offers a free mount among other bonuses for getting an Authenticator. You can use Winauth for a desktop version. There is literally no reason for you to blame carbine or say you got scammed when they are going that far out of their way to ensure your account is safe.
Not to mention that all this time you put into this post you could have submitted a ticket and got your account fixed by now. They respond within 2 days or less usually, and for a new game with a considerable amount of bots and hackers, that is pretty note-worthy in itself.
To close, your entire post saddens me. I wish more gamers could be cool down to earth people with the ability to use common sense, reasoning, logic.. and several google searches.. to form opinions that makes sense based on a wide array of information rather then the type of opinions we see posted here these days.

Sadly no, developers are lazy as crap ,they couldn't care less about a few customers because it costs them more in man hours to keep track of IP's and logins. However imo if they have the notion to put effort into suspending accounts they can most certainly put a remoter effort into checking Ip logins but they don't and imo none of the developers do.
To prove how lazy developers are and why they do NOT put in a fair effort on their secure end,i recently had a problem with a login to my account from Japan.Well so happens Yahoo did put in the effort and warned me of a login to my email from Japan, yet the developer did not put in the same effort .I don't pay Yahoo a single penny yet developers who we do spend money on put out less effort.
Blizzard does not monitor Ip login and i doubt any of them do.

Well guildwars 2 do and havent you seen to posts about it whining.... omg i have to authenticate my ip again since it switched damn you anet.
So devs are sadly damned if they do damned if they dont, so im glad even 1 of them bother to do it.
Even if I have to authenticate my logins from time to time since im on a mobile connection and move around.
These days in MMORPG gaming if you aren't authenticating with the tools provided, it's basically your fault. Doesn't matter how clean you think your computer is or how safe you believe your info to be. Just do it.

It's not just on the customer though, there are steps companies can use and can be made mandatory (like what EA does with SWTOR) that add even extra levels of security, along side those 2 step methods. I don't know if WS uses those methods or not if they don't they should. It cuts down on this a lot.

Apparently, the OP is new to the internet. People like this should be forced to take rudimentary IT classes in order to play games. One of the FIRST things you learn is NO program is bug free and NOTHING connected to the internet is 100% safe. Hell, my son has his own laptop. He's 9. He somehow got the "FBI Cybercrime" trojan just looking up Yugi Oh stuff online. You should have used 2 stage authentication. They even gave you a costume helm AND mount to do so, and it was FREE.
It wasn't them that decided to ban your account for no reason, it was them banning your account because of 3rd party programs being in use on it. It isn't their fault your account got hacked, it's your fault for not getting every security available. There's a reason they provide 2 step authentication, because in MMORPG games accounts get stolen so frequently that it's become almost a necessity to have it. Just call them.

Yet ironically legitimate players have had their accounts suspended/banned in WoW while they have left their accounts open to attacks from hackers. Even WoW has an authenticator to prevent accounts being compromised.
I know it's a PITA to lose access to your account through no fault of your own, but these days it's better to use any extra protection being offered to help prevent situations like this happening, MMO's are still generating alot of money for goldsellers and any new MMO is going to have alot of hackers beating at it's door to gain access by whatever means to get a piece of the action, so do yourself a favour, if your going to play another new or very popular MMO again get yourself an extra layer of protection. Thinking your safe just because you haven't visited the "Wrong sites" is not the solution, no site we visit is ever going to be 100% safe.
Originally posted by Pezant1973 I purchased Wildstar at the beginning of early access. Im a very casual player with maybe a L24 engineer being my highest level character. I haven't played the game in over two weeks due to work and RL obligations and then today when I went to cancel my account I noticed that it was suspended. At first I thought my subscription ran out and checked my bank records and noticed I was charged $15 on 7/7/14. I then went into my email and noticed on 7/17 they suspended my account for use of a 3rd party program. Considering I have not logged in in over 2 weeks this is utter bullshit. I have zero virus's on this computer and theres no way I ever clicked on anything to get jacked. As for the password part I am convinced that the breach is on their end. I submitted a ticket asking for a refund as I dont plan to ever buy a game from a scamming company.
uh how unexpected, someone was hacked and banned.
welcome to the world of mmos.
and yea, breaches are ALWAYS on the game's end, users NEVER Get hacked. NEVER EVERRRRRR
my tipp: dont buy another mmo.

I had a similar situation happen to me as the OP. I hadn't logged in for a couple weeks. As my sub was about to run out, I got an e-mail saying my account my suspended for 3rd party software or something. I had no idea why this happened.
Unlike the OP, I didn't make a pointless thread here complaining about something I wouldn't even bother to try and remedy. Instead, I actually talked to support and they told me exactly this. They said, my account was hacked into and they suspended it before they could do anything to it. Within 24 hours, my account was back and anything that might of been taken was put back.
OP, stop arguing with every person here and just get a hold of support.

I don't know...I've got a good feeling about his solution. If enough people really believe good things can happen! The game lord will come down from his magic pink cloud touch his account on the head and it will be HEELED!
OP do not bother wildstar has rabid supporters atm.
I totally understand what you are saying.
Have had three suspensions and I do have google authenticator on my account.
I have a feeling not logging in for 2 weeks makes it auto suspend you for some reason.
Sadly it does not auto suspend billing renewal even if you are suspended.
Regardless until it happens to them they will continue to think NC poops rainbows and butterflies.
Just to clarify I like the game I just think they are having some serious account issues at the moment.
Im not playing but thanks. If you read anything the OP said you will see that he is at fault. Doesnt matter if he was playing, WoW, Eve, ESO, ArcheAge, etc.
The OP agreed to pay every month, that is why he was charged. He then got his account hacked and cant spend 5 minutes writing customer service but instead cries here...
Absolutely unfair statement NC/Wildstar CS is not the worst I have ever seen but it is pretty close.
They NEVER actually read what you are submitting on a ticket they just grab a keyword and respond with some canned response that has nothing to do with the original ticket.
Most times it takes them at least 2 weeks to get back with out on any reply you make.
My first suspension took them a week to actually lift it even after they themselves sent me an email telling me the suspension had been made in error.
I suspect a big part of the problem is a language barrier, have a feeling some if not all of the CS is either outsourced to somewhere in asia, or is handled by the asian NC soft team and not the US team.
I backup Pezant, the exact same shit happened to me. Wildstar's security is fcuked, they won't admit it.
And no you shouldn't have to use 2-step security. But with Wildstar you must, cause they are noob.
What I really find strange is that I have SOE account, Battlenet account, Trion account, Zenimax account, EA account, steam account, even a ton of asian sites like PW, R2, Suba the list goes on....
I even have a Guildwars, Guildwars 2, L2, and Aion accounts with NC.
NONE of them have EVER have any issues with security and none of them have secondary security.
Wildstar is the first and ONLY game I have ever used an authticator on, and the only game ever suspended even mistakenly.
To be fair and honest, I did have some issues with my Zenimax account before I tossed in the ESO rag, but that was more inexperience running I think.
Do you look at adult sites , download from torrents or look at site that stream movies illegally online ? Not saying that is wrong or anything because I'm betting 99 percent of internet users do that but its best not to do it on a computer you use for online gaming because it increases the risk of getting hacked .
But I wouldn't rule out that somethings going wrong with Wildstars banning because its not unheard of for a new game to mistakenly ban accounts . It happened to a friend of mine in TESO for simply falling through the world .
I absolutely LOVE when people say silly things like "the websites I go to are safe", or "I have antivirus software so I know I haven't been hacked", or "I definitely KNOW that the security breach is on their end, as there is ZERO chance it's on mine b/c I do a, b, and c".
What people don't realize is that the large majority of players accounts being compromised is simply b/c they are not safe w/ their passwords and
a) Use the same passwords across multiple sites
and/or
b) Use the simplest and most obvious passwords like.... God, Sex, Love, and Secret
Seriously, it is most often that simple. I had my WoW account hijacked twice, the first time I figured it was a one off occurrence, scanned my comp w/ my anti-virus and went about my business. Then it happened again and I went nuts thinking my system had been "hacked" or someone in Blizzard had to have sold my account to the Chinese gold farmers, or other such nonsense. But, I finally sat down and thought about it and realized that I used the same password for my WoW account as I did on some websites, but most egregiously, on WoW fan-sites like Curse, etc. So, I have never done that again, and I have never had any problems since.
All people need to do is be careful with their passwords, and not use the same ones for your "important" accounts (you know, bank accounts, MMO's, and such) , and simple websites accounts.

You have never had a battlenet account then. Ask anyone who has not had a authenticator on their account. They have been hacked before. WoW accounts get hacked all the time.
Scripts that run unchecked when you rsurh the internet is enough risk to get yourself a keylogger installed.
No idea if that happened to you but if someone logged into your account the risk came from somewhere ?
Account suspended can also mean sub not payed / hacked and account locked.
Contact support and ask them what happened instead of going rampage on other sites screaming waaaah waaaaah bad company ! they banned me for nothing !!!
Truth is they DONT ban people out of the blue.
I got hacked once in 15 years, and that was in WoW 2006 or something.
I let my son on my pc and he installed a game and was looking on the web for a crack, wel he got the crack + some fine specimen of virus / keyloggers / mallware.
