Destiny where is the co-op?

handlewithcarehandlewithcare Member Posts: 322

I played a bit of the beta on ps3 well the graffix is not good and you play single player the whole time.

looks like you have to invite people or be invited no group finder.

in the first place give me swords and spells any time above a shooter but if destiny is more like a single player and you have to go and find players then ill pass.

Technically, they talked about people dropping in and out of your game, so if he hasn't experienced this, then he has a legitimate complaint.

That's funny. Whenever I go do a mission (story or explore), there's othersthere, doing their missions and exploring. Every now and then something big and nasty drops from the sky and everyone scrambles to take it down (and die trying).

    So yeah. No.

I ran into people in the open world all the time during the "alpha". It kind of auto matches you.

It looks gorgeous on PS4 they probably shouldn't have bothered with the old consoles but I can understand the need to get that market still.

Did you expect the graphics to be the same on PS3 as it is on PS4?

I know right, plus people are running all over this place when I am playing. I have also made a few friends, also I join a pretty cool clan. This is just a troll post imo, I think Destiny is shaping up to be a good game.

I had a lot of fun trying to down that guy who has to go to the 5 check points, damn hard to kill him.

I've seen plenty of other people during missions. The only thing really missing is a constantly scrolling chat log of players comparing it to other games.

True, but they have a hub called the tower.. where you can invite ppl, if you wish, to join your fire team.. all he has to do is reach out and be friendly..

I'm sure he's experienced it and just not noticed. Every now and then you'll get a little notification that someone has entered your area. More often than not though I'm too busy shooting something in the head to notice the notification and will just see someone's name tag nearby.

In that sort of scenario you're not in a group like in a traditional MMO. It's more like playing solo in a traditional MMO where you're doing your thing and other people around you are doing their thing and if you want you can go find them and tag along. Plenty of times I come across a person or two in a firefight and I'll chip in for a bit and then we all sort of go our own way.

I haven't tried joining a Fireteam yet so I'm not sure if there's any UI change or how missions work, etc.

Does the game have a Looking For Group system or do you have to just randomly try to invite people you see?

Currently there is no LFG system that I know of. I would be a bit surprised if they didn't intend to add one. Seems like a no-brainer feature in a multi-player co-op game that has missions and stuff.

For one of the maps it does matchmaking. I hope that's not all they plan on using.

I don't think you played this one bit.

Graphics, fine...preference. One of the biggest achievements of destiny is how incredibly stunning the worlds are and the attention to detail from lighting to shadows etc...

You obviously didn't play devils lair...

Again, it looks like you didnt do any of the "group content" . There people all over the place in game.

I played abput 10 hours and i get 4 invites from people i dont knew, and had much fun and if you do a strike, ther is a "groupfinder" who searches other guardians for the stirke. In the free roam mode there are also other player you can group up with them or do Events together without a group it works also.

Play in an "Explore" mission which will have you roaming around the map doing random quests.  That's typically where you'll find the most players.  There are public events just like modern MMOs and the game doesn't penalize you for assisting (like modern MMOs),

From what I understand "Raids" also require grouping, which mostly comes into play later.

Im pretty sure there is an option in the "Roster" section in the options menu where you can change the fire team setting to open or all from the default which is set at friends only allowing people to auto join you for some action :)

For open world you need to invite or be invited. For the Strike (dungeon) it has a group finder if you arent already in a fireteam.

This. I prefer the system they are using. It encourages being social. Once you add a person as a friend, you can start a PS4 party and use the voice chat which works really well for this game. especially in the crucible, where coms are definitely a boon.

    This!

Also, I understand there are "World" Bosses that spawn randomly too. Never seen one myself, but it's just what I've heard from others.

Yes, there are many world bosses. And unless there are a lot of people around, prepare to hurt. They are not friendly to lone guardians.

Never been a shooter fan, but really liking this game, the options there to explore, PvP and do team missions is all there, it feels like a number of games and genres all in one.  Like many here before me have said, I don't believe the OP has fully explored the games mechanics and options available.
