Dude i have a 3k MMR, not spectacular, but im clearly not a n00b. I also only started playing the game 6 months ago so i dont have years of experience under my belt either.
When you get a couple of retards on your team that feed 5-10 kills in the first 5-10 minuted of the game, you get spawn camped, it just happens. So stop acting like a tryhard and post something useful to the discussion.
I'm sorry your friends are retarded, that's very nice of you to continue to play with them even if you are getting spawn camped. I understand now and am sorry for taking a jab at your spawn camp problem. You should have just said your friends are retarded though, it would have been less misleading. Good luck out there sorry bro.
Unfortunately i dont play with friends (They all dont like mobas, but looooove playing games like Dark Souls 2, etc), i have to queue solo, which blows goats, but it is what it is.

You see that almost 11 million dollar prize pool? Do you realize how freaking GIGANTIC Dota was in asian countries, and how every single computer at a lan had war 3 and dota installed there?
Mike, you really shouldn't try to keep preaching this..
I want to see more 3rd person MOBAs! MMOs should make MOBA versions of their games (using the same engine and graphics). Warhammer tried it with WoH (which was shut down because of a retarded cash shop) ~ overall it was a fun game.
Although some take MOBA's too seriously, you can play them casually. Pay to personalize is a great concept (if done correctly) and it allows players who have money to spend it. I know the market is getting kinda flooded but if MMOs could convert them cheaply then it may be a profitable option.
Only "MOBA" i can able to enjoy is AI dota map. Other than that i can't get any "MOBA".
I love dota but not "MOBA".
Why ? Because i only need warcraft III to play dota , tower defend , RTS , RPG ect ... custom maps.
I think MOBA's should do more PvE. It would be cool to fight against challenging minions, complete different objectives, fight bosses, etc. PvP is fun but the genre needs to grow!

That's really irrelevant. The genre didn't take off until League blew up. That's a fact. Like Wolfenstein, Dota certainly got things started, but it was League that achieved critical mass and changed everything. Every developer isn't coming out of the woodwork to make a MOBA because Dota was in LAN cafes across Asia. They're doing it because League of Legends exploded and made tons of money.
Dota being in LAN cafes in Asia did get small, smart studios like GPG, S2, and Riot to sit up and notice, but developers all across the industry didn't start tripping over themselves to make MOBAs until after Riot found wild levels of success in League.
This doesn't diminish Dota's contribution to the genre. It's just a matter of fact.

So many complaints about this genre's community and you couldn't even hold yourself back to prove them wrong. Shameful.
We have far too many MMOs than the genre needs, MOBA's are quicker to make and already that's being said about them. Think of the zillions of them that we will have in five years time.

Not sure what you mean, but for the jab at the genres community, it's not as bad as the complaining makes it out to be, you would see if you actually played. It's like any other game or social setting, just roll with the punches, embrace the people you enjoy being around and steer clear of those you don't. // Blizzard will make a clone - it will be more polished than league and dota - they will quietly enter the mix with hereos - there will be multiple clones after that but they will fall short of the glory, eventually hereos may overtake league. The mobas like smite will break off then and call themselves TPMOBA or Action Mobas or something else just like mmorpgs are doing now by calling themselves persistent online world to avoid being judged as an mmorpg and compared against other mmorpgs.
Don't kid yourselves. League of legends is an inferior game with a groundbreaking business model. That's it. It did nothing for the MOBA genre. Now that dota 2 has the same business model as league, (free to play, skins, etc...), league will start dying and will probably be irrelevant in 4-5 years.
They're doing it because League of Legends exploded and made tons of money.
Oh yeah, because asia's playerbase is small, and doesn't matter! I don't think you understand by just how ridiculous it was with LAN Cafe's ALL having it installed., and how much they use the places now and then..
But yeah, it's not like Dota has been the grand daddy of tournaments, features, and attention "at all" LoL does everything first!

Have you ever tried or heard about smite? I playes LoL for a while but got tired of clicking and scrolling. Then i came across the Smite and I am having a blast since open beta. 3rd person perspective gives you a different feeling about the game and makes you think more and feels more action packed.

These days ground breaking business models are more common than ground breaking games. You fill gaming companies with executives, most of whom have no experience of the gaming industry and that's what is going to happen.

You are certainly welcome to your opinion, but I will bet there are a lot of people who would beg to differ with that statement. I still have that game on a hard disk. I don't find any similarities to any MOBA's I have played.

He's talking about the fact that you felt it necessary to use an extremely offensive word to belittle another user. That word has very negative connotations, but I'm sure you knew that. I really wouldn't suggest using rude/mean words to get a point across. Try and talk like a civilized person instead; it'll probably get you farther.
Meh Don't really care for any of the current MOBA's as they are not very fun to play. Heroes of the Storm on the other hand looks to be shaping up to be a very good MOBA game that will evolve the formula and come on top of the rest.
See, every time I see a thread criticizing someone for making a new moba, I just sigh. The need for new mobas is questioned by idiots. And I'm glad that you're able to express the need for an open mind towards new titles.
MOBA's are one of the youngest and most unexplored genres out there.
There are 10-15 commercial (as in monetized games with their own client) mobas in the NA scene TOPS. Of these, only four (League, DotA2, Smite, Dawngate) really have their own niches and have claimed a sizable piece of the moba pie. That's four successful or promising titles in an entire genre.
Every other commercial title is dead, dying, or hasn't had an opportunity to come to life. Now, while it could be said that this is the result of low demand or overflow into the genre, think on that for a minute. Every title that has died or dwindled has done so because it was either a) mismanaged (see Realm of the Titans, BLC, Smashmuck, and SMNC), b) Uninteresting or redundant (see HoN and IC), or c) just a bad game in general (see Rise of Immortals or Prime World).
Now of the existing games, we've barely explored anything the genre has to offer. We've explored top-down and third-person views, but haven't really refined either, nor have we touched first-person. We've barely experimented with maps at all. In fact, Dawngate was the only commercial moba to significantly divert from the traditional trilane. We haven't seen experimental trilanes. We haven't seen quad-lane setups or oddball modes. We haven't seen Capture-the-Flag or other modes as a central game mode. We haven't seen a moba that FOCUSES on its control point map; Gigantic might become the exception. We haven't seen a moba with player-made characters. We haven't seen a moba with a central story mode or a more cooperative emphasis. THE. LIST. GOES. ON.
Now, actually THINK before you try to claim that the MOBA genre is bloated, redundant, or fully-explored. It's young. It has a LOT of potential. It has a thriving pool of players that are willing to experiment with other games in the genre - and perhaps even stay in them if they offer something good and unique. And we've done nothing with it.
