Hmm let's see... the game didn't do well in Korea and the population in the russian version has been declining. I expect more or less the same in the NA/EU version after a few months. Nothing will kill WoW. WoW will just die an old man's death.
"For the Angel of Death spread his wings on the blast, And breathed in the face of the foe as he passed: And the eyes of the sleepers waxed deadly and chill, And their hearts but once heaved, and for ever grew still!" ~Lord George Gordon Byron
Yes definitely a WoW killer, like we havent heard the self same thing a million times already... while its not impossible that a game might just achieve that dubious title, this game is not the one to do it, but i think the OP knew that already and this is just a joke thread anyway.
Originally posted by Foobarx Technically he never defined what wow was... we're all assuming he's referring to that MMO title often abbreviated to WoW... could be he's talking about Women on Writing or World of Wonder or WOW Hall... just google wow and see... it's unclear, he needs to edit his post and clearly state which wow he was referring to.
Also, the title of the discussion could be punctuated in a couple different ways.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
This game is nto a wow killer, it is simply a game that will fill a void in the market,

Its been said before, and it will be said again....The only thing that can kill WoW is WoW. People only joined this crappy length cbt to try it out. Its not even a true beta test. It'll be a good time killer for like 2-3 months and go back to forgotten land like Tera/Aion/etc. Okay, maybe it wont be forgotten but honestly I don't even think it'll end up doing as well as rift. The system of the game needs to be lengthened to create longevity. People will get bored of this game too fast.
It fulfills some game play desires from a group of people who are more interested in crafting and making their own way (quests aside) and an "end game" that is more than just lining up for raid after raid for gear after gear.
This is not a desire for the meat of WoW players.
Just because your group of similarly minded people decide to support the game early doesn't mean that the bulk of people trained on WoW and all that WoW offers will be interested in this game.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
not really , they test out the game and its looking real good.
so you think these 20 around people who wasted their 150 dollars are going to kill wow . it is same like hamas shitting stuff like we are going to kill israeli forces . be a bit more sound and logical
As much as I love this game I have to disagree with the title of the thread. Anyone who loves WoW style game play will hate this game. The quests are just a linear tutorial. There are a couple of novel ones but most are meh. Thats ok though becasue most of the quest chains are just designed to get you to the point of which way you want to go in the endgame. Pretty good idea too, there are crafting chains that will outfit you with a set of armor favorable to that craft. So far I have done most of the farming one and part of the smithing and alchemy crafting series
There are no long scripted dungeons they can learn bu rote. There are no raids nor any super ultimate swords of extreme kick ass to grind in those raids.
Here jump off the quest train or change to a different one anytime you want. best gear is crafted. No one can be a one man Army in crafting. Totally different playstyle which will confuse and overwhelm the follow the breadcrumbs to the raids crowd
Originally posted by Arthasm Seems like you were born yesterday... Let me tell you story about true and only one "wow killer". When it came out, it became number 1 game in Korea. No.1 by subscribers, No.1 by hours played, topped every other game. Even got some major rewards for best game, best MMO in the world. And people start talking it could be, no, it is really Wow killer this time. Then game came into West. 3 months and dream about Wow killer was broken. 1 or 2 years later it became F2P... And for the game that already failed in Asia, you think it will be Wow killer??? It's just another Korean garbage, hyped to the end of universe, which will die few months after delivery. Sorry.
Dude, you never said what game you are talking about in the first half of that post. I had to read it twice to make sure I didn't miss it...so, what game from Korea came here as the potential WoW-killer? Lineage 2 is the only game I know that really fit that bill, but that came out in NA before WoW, so that can't be it...

I don't think AA is a "WoW killer" as no game can do that. WoW is an anomaly due to it's timing and universally smooth gameplay. This quote above however is just as laughable. AA is a very detailed and polished MMO with a fine attention to detail. It has more gameplay options than any of the current titles and almost all of those previous. Will that make it universally popular? Who knows. Is it garbage... err, no.

wow killer? doubt tht but only time will tell unless yuve been to the future op?
Apparently by how it's faired in its home market, the only thing archeage can kill is itself..........
Definitely a troll thread.
I'm still waiting for an mmo that's literally named "wow killer". Imagine all the publicity it would generate. lol.
He met himself and said "Why don't you make like a tree... and get out of here?"

They are halfway done with that.
does it or not its better than wow that for sure

archeage is a direct descendant of lineage 2.

Jesus this again. AA is average at the very least. I know 10 people that beta tested it, not 1 will buy it. Definate WoW killer, lol.
me and all 5 of my friends who tried it will play it
as of now only 1 will be a patron (our king) and we will use our labor as a guild to build his land.
none of them are spending 150
Not it isn't.
Not even close.
