I only see one troll here^.  I assume you are labelling anyone who disagrees with your opinion a troll?

Wildstar's combat is amazing for dungeon's and raids. But I find it lacking for pvp. I don't really like wildstar pvp at all because of how the combat works. WoW's arena is more fun then wildstar's arena. However, because of the way combat works, the pve is by far superior in wildstar.

What an odd exchange to link that post to.

This is THE game I've been waiting for. Been disappointed with some recent MMOs over the past couple of years but now it finally seems like Wildstar can come take most of my time. You're gonna love the way it pulls you in level after level with so much to do, what with the crafting alone. It definitely reels you in with a good enough carrot that you cannot seem to stop following. GG

Switched from GW2 for this (Wildstar, I meant), didn't look back, it's quite a refreshing exp to be honest. Definitely recommend over SWTOR.

Booyah stopped playing D3 to get on here, didn't regret it.

Got nice content right off the bat, the guys who made look like they know what they're doing. Loving dat sci-fi-ish frontier feel to this game espceially the races.

It's comical in nature, but boy does Wildstar take this MMO thing seriously. Seriously, it's probably the most well-done MMO I've seen in quite some time. Not to mention awesome VFX

I would resubscribe to Swtor before resubbing to Wildstar, but thats just me. But if i can make a different suggestion i would say go for FFXIV:ARR

SWTOR or Wildstar. That is a very tough choice. Two very enjoyable MMOs with polarizing strengths and weaknesses.

If I chose SWTOR, I would miss Wildstar's combat, world design, crafting, paths, and warplots.

If I chose Wildstar, I would miss SWTOR's combat, class design, storyline, and space content.

Glad I dont have to choose haha.

Wildstar gets my vote, glad I chose this over SWTOR, loving the combat and crafting aspects!

Personally, I would choose SWTOR. The most obvious reason is because it's funkin' Star Wars, mang.

On the other hand, Wildstar felt like a browser based game to me. I get the F2P feelz from it.

What a refreshing thread , as someone else pointed out , people being positive about swtor ? Has the summer sun got to everyone ? Plus only one negative person who contradicted him/herself. Well i haven't played WS so I can't really comment. I can say I didn't get it and with my MMO style being  Sci-fi that probably tells you what I thought of WS sci-fi. Also the servers being separate from different regions didn't help at all. So my vote would be to try SWTOR , the 1 class from each faction recommendation seems like a good start too , I agree. Just don't get into any must make 16 characters , lol like me took ages to finish them all.

Oh one other recommendation would be PSO2.

    Good Luck!

    Cheers,

    BadOrb.

PSO 4 years , EQOA 4 months , PSU 7 years , SWTOR launch ongoing , PSO2 SEA launch ongoing , Destiny 360 launch ongoing.

    Wildstar:

    Don't like the art style.

    Don't like the story.

Combat is ok but not my cup of tea.

I hear this is a WoW clone...don't know as I never played Wow.

Crafting was ok but I could not find much to keep me engaged.

    SWTOR:

You get what you pay for (f2p is not free)

Art style is adequate but lacking in some regards.

Story is great but way too short...at least you can see 8 relatively unique stories (f2p excluded)

Combat is not bad but not perfect by any means.

Game gets really repetitive by the time you reach max level.

PvP does not really feel like SW but at least it is PvP...still gets repetitive.

Crafting was pretty simplistic. Not that meaningful nor engaging. Again, repetitive.

So I guess that would not be of much help. If I had to choose one I would choose SWTOR but only IF it were not a f2p game.

Let's party like it is 1863!

Tough choice and great you don't have to make it! I'm quite impressed Wildstar can butt heads with a starwars game given the veteran appeal of SWTOR. More people should try it out, it's not the worst MMO to come out as some haters would say, it's by far the most innovative combat i've seen in an MMO.

Tried both games recently, am suprised I'm choosing Wildstar over SWTOR, being a huge Star Wars fan myself (because lightsabers!). Something about the game just got me, maybe it's the really involved combat system, just feels totally immersive and action packed.

Sorry, but just watching the replies is rather amusing in a way.  It wasn't too long ago most people on this site would discourage anyone from playing TOR.  My how the pendulum has swung.

I have been running around in Wildstar for few days and have enjoyed it but Have an itch for Starwars but just can't stand the free version of Swtor so would have to re sub the game.Gw2 is fine but leaves me cold I don't know why it just does.

The only real problem I have with Wildstar is there seems to be a lack of players I maybe incorrect it just feels a little empty.

So just wanting to know how others view the state of each game good or bad. Cheers :)

I can tell you that WS population is healthy once you get to 50.  I think unlike many MMOs where people incessantly roll alts once they get to max level WS has more than enough to do and your character takes a time investment.  This is the reason that you have probably noticed the starter areas aren't bustling.

I haven't played SWToR in years but I hear that they have had some success since they went F2P, I really can't comment on the game.

I personally really enjoy WS and if I were you I would probably at least play for a few months get your toon to max level and then see how you like the game.

I'm not sure these games can be compared like that. I mean, SWTOR is made by BioWare, epic stories and you can feel it's quality.  Wildstar on the other hand.... nevermind lol.
