REDO : Pillars of Eternity / Camelot Unchained...but NOW?

haibeyhaibey Member Posts: 14

I got some flak earlier and that is not what I'm here for. I would appreciate some recommendations for games similar to PoE or Camelot Unchained but ones that I don't have to wait so long for? Is there anything new out there with an old school feel?

EDIT: I mean MMORPG's with similar graphics and gameplay styles.

Thank you!

Have you tried FFXIV ARR?  you can make the view overhead if you want ( I do it during dungeons).  It's just as RPG as it is MMO.

Massive Multiplayer Online Thats what MMO is. GW2 is a MMO cant even argue about that. Sorry if you didnt like the game but keep in mind what MMO means when you look for one.

Give Divinity: Original Sin a look. It's not an MMO but you can play co-op with a buddy which seems more what you're looking for anyway and it seems custom-made for you in the other criteria you gave. Path of exile is also fun if a little grindy (but to be expected in that type of game).

You should probably avoid most  MMOs from the last couple of years as they're mainly turning into action arcade games more than RPGs lately.

    Good god no.

If your looking for a healthy alternative go with Darkfall.

Seriously Im not a fanboy of DF, but a friend of mine saw me playing Darkfall a week or so back and then DLd Mortal to basically try and 1-up me. He even got a couple of our friends to DL it with him cause they also didnt like Darkfall.

In the end they all uninstalled in less than an hour, and thats not to say they didint give it a fair chance, the game itself is just so broken, buggy, and unpolished no one wanted to put up with it.

Basically Mortal Online is the CiCi's pizzza of Bad latency buffets.

Clearly they never gave it a chance.. an hour in that game does not even start to scratch the surface..

Its not broken thats for sure.. yeah there are still some bugs and yes a bit unpolished but SV are a pure indie company with not that much cash behind them. I would say in its current state MO is a lot better than the messed up DF:UW.

Saying that both Darkfall:UW and Mortal Online are hardcore PVP mmorpgs with full loot so you need to like that kind of thing to enjoy those games.

Also Pillars of Eternity is not an mmo.. you really want to check Our Divinity:Origional sin its one of the best games I have played in a very long time.

I know Poe isn't an mmo. I suppose I can wait for Camelot. Thanks guys.
