Well, I came back and....

I'm having a blast.

I admit that I quit in disgust when the game first came out as it was broken in lots of ways and I thought there were things that needed attention.  A friend suggested I poke my head back in now and I did and am pleasantly surprised at the difference.

The bugs and many other issues have received attention and there's been new content and it looks as though there will be new contant on a regular basis.  I think there's a megaserver now with lots of people on it and lots of activity.

I'm one who is happy to criticise a game when it doesn't deliver, and I did this when ESO came out, but now, I'm really enjoying it.  The game looks beautiful and I hope it continues to improve and get back those that quit as I did.

Oh yeah, it was like ground zero when the game came out. The bots, bugs, duplicating, etc.

Those are all gone now thank god. The game in my opinion is improving fast, and the future looks bright too!

Today is the 3rd update. Adding guild tabards and dyes unlocked through acheivements (sorry for grammer.) Also a guild public auction.

And we cant forget about the justice system, imperial city, and spellcrafting that will be released on a later updates.

As someone who was more than a bit worried when the game came was released, i can now say that im liking what zenimax is doing.

The game wasnt that broken. Other mmos were far more broken than this. You should be ashamed of yourself for being weak and quitting.

Any graphical, audio, or gameplay restrictions not seen in other mmos but found in FFXIV can be blamed on one thing.

Agreed, ZoS has turned around a bad launch into one of the best MMO's on the market. A very unqiue and entertaining experience, even at max level now.

    Currently Playing: ESO and FFXIV

my only grip with ESO since I been playing it since beta is the champion system cannot come fast enough. After getting one toon to max vet rank its a real chore on every alt you make. The new patch today added more experience to killing players in pvp and Im really hoping its enough to actually level through pvp now instead of having to do two entire factions zones to get 10 vet points on all my alts then craglorn.

that depends on what you consider broken. The game was technically playable(as in it didnt crash), but it was really badly put together when it launched (it had the same quality of all the betas). I just came back for a month and it feels much much better. There are still little annoyances in game that were present in beta, but the game is far from what it was at launch. Therre is still imput lag, but the game has improved a lot.

One of those little annoyances i meantioned from beta is the stutter that characters make when jumping. That is still there since the first beta. I almost thought it was my PC, but more people have the same issue. I guess ZoS is just ignoring that.

    ^ Please!

I hate the Craglorn grind. Ive almost finished my third alliance zone now and they really need to up the xp for quests as well.

I'm reluctant to try it now since Albion Online is around the corner.  :)

I find it somewhat amusing ... maybe even sad ... to see a "come back" thread for a game that's been out 4 months.  This is symbolic of the attention span of players the modern crappy MMORPGs are designed for, and how bad these designs are overall.

Premium MMORPGs do not feature built-in cheating via cash for gold pay 2 win. PLAY to win or don't play.

Agreed, having a blast as well, I'm glad I waited to pick it up as the game runs great with no real issues to speak of, no major complaints thus far.

SOmething about this game strikes the right chord with my inner explorer.

I just resubbed, last night.  Trying to decide if I want to upgrade to the Imerial package.  I like what they are doing with the game and providing they continue to move the game in a positive direction I will probably play for a while.

I always hope something new and different (or at least compared to traditional mmos of late ... and enough with mmos being called AO. It's getting confusing at this point) does well but Albion Online is close to being a totally different genre to an mmo like ESO. I highly doubt that the audiences will cross over much.

    You stay sassy!

I came back recently, rerolled and I'm enjoying it a lot more than the first time. The new European server (in Europe!) has now been launched although as expected there are still some server-side issues.

    It's like mass hysteria.

When enough people start going "OMG this game sucks because of this and this and that is wrong with it, and it's going to die horribly in a month!" many of the others start believing it too.

That and human nature; you don't really appreciate something until it's gone. Sometimes it takes a trip to another game to make people realize the grass only appeared greener on the other side. image

Wow what a shameless plug that is and you know it lol.

Sorry but that does not look that interesting really, fair play to create a game but comparing the thought of it to ESO? I would have to say picnic derp :)

Quitting a video game is weak, back in the day you were weak for quitting a physical training programme, today its quitting a video game. Man up! :)

Seriously, TESO only had minor issues at launch. Other MMOs were far worse, but polish is all now. Release a game that explodes after level 30 and you will still get an excellent review if the polish is good. When I say minor issues I am thinking back to around 2000, if you have only been playing MMOs for five years it was OMG, OMG, OMG. :D

If you've only got a compound fracture while a couple other people have been dismembered, you still have a serious problem with a broken leg.

Does gameplay not get stale with such a few abilities to use? I quit in the first month just couldn't get into it. But this thread is kinda hyping me up some to resub.
  • ScotScot Member LegendaryPosts: 24,273

I would take a serious look at any game I was going to rejoin, not just base it on a forum thread. I like ESO's 10 key arcade style, but its not for everyone. I like turn based too, you can do both well.

This was my biggest concern after my second (hated the game after my first) beta weekend.  I'm a chronic respec'r. I need options. I need to continue to challenge myself in finding something new and effective. 4 months in, I'm still able to come up with new builds.

I've played everything from a light armor shadowy type healer, to a medium armor rogue achetype to as of yesterday, a heavy armor duel wielding fury warrior. All of this on my Nightblade.
