Neverwinter Suffers Another Legendary Exploit

Neverwinter was just brought down for maintenance due to another Caturday like exploit.
Players were able to farm Astral Rifts unlimited amount of times infusing the economy with Hundreds upon Hundreds of millions of AD....
Unlikely the game can recover from this as they are once again not doing rollbacks... and players will avoid bans.

As far as I can tell from talking to a couple of friends there, it seems the exploit has been brought to light by a video showing how it's done.
As the norm with these things, word of this got around at internet speeds and people where quickly exploiting to ridiculous levels.
But at the time of writing it is not known just how long the exploit has been quietly farmed before the video exploded it to the general population.
sadly there were alot of players abusing this exploit. i just received the following screenshot (taken may '14) as a proof showing the owner of svetlana's account farming rifts on one of his alts.
also this guy got already banned once like 6 months ago.

Svetlana never farmed rifts...That screenshot is modified..that sentence said " Chest "...notice the slight change in font size and position between " Glitched " and " Rift "
And the Suspension screenshot is Months old from this supposed Chest but I challenged the suspension and got it overturned...

i don't know if that screenshot is modified or not. i just received it and when i check the metadata on the picture it says the following thing:
easily done on internet explorer (rightclick -> properties). why would someone modify a picture like 3 months ago?
To me it just sounds like you are trying to defend something very hard.

You can set your calender time to anything. I could make that picture say it was created 10 years ago. Doesnt mean it was.

Zoom in of said Image... Notice the Opening R's of each word. I think the modification is obvious.
Also run the Image through this Image Manipulation tool to see changes to images. You can clearly see the "Block" surrounding "rift"

Apparently the fall out from this has now hit the AH, with prices immediately tripling or quadrupling. There was a post giving some actual examples of these dramatic price rises, which I managed to read in full, but has now been hit with the pwe banhammer

It will be interesting to see how this exploit situation, with the resultant mass influx of AD in the game, is handled.
The last major exploit issue got a short rollback and some temporary & permanent bans. However this latest exploit has apparently been in the game for months, only erupting when a video was published showing how to do it - then it duly went into warp drive.
I have yet to log into game and see this..But I expected it
I just received a Screenshot of a conversation between some members of the PMvsPM community talking about how one player in particular made 70 Million AD on a character that got banned.
He also claims the exploit is still going on.
This really isn't a surprise to me. I quit the game shortly after caturday. They handled it so poorly. I really doubt this situation will be handled any better tbh.
