Seen lots of speculation about SOE Live.
We will *not* be announcing dates for either game. All other guesses might be legit.

Doesn't surprise me. They have no real incentive to get the game out with Landmark still making them money.
My guess is 2016 at the earliest and I wouldn't be surprised to see EQNext slide to 2017.
There was a follow up to the first tweet (in the OP):
One: Dates are evil. Percentage-wise in the industry, noone is ever right. Especially if they're working with the players to build their game.
Two: Don't worry. We're not wandering in the forest. We have a plan and a schedule. But we want leeway to change based on feedback. Important!

I followed every EQN LiveCast when they did their big reveal. When it turned out to just be a massive hype bomb that fizzled out, I just became disappointed. I hope this year at SOE Live when it gets to Q&A some people ask them some uncomfortable questions that get some real answers. Dave's slippery half-answers got tired a long time ago.
I would agree with your predictions based on available information regarding progress so far, but maybe after the event more will be clear.

True but they could give us a none official hint at least like which year they think they will get it ready...
Few MMOs ever holds their release date and the ones that do tends to be buggy messes released way too early so no protest against no official date but but "we might have it ready late 2015" or something would still be nice.
Never give predictions about unreleased MMOs. This site is full about them (like WAR is going to become the next Wow and similar).
Sure, 75% of all MMOs or so performs way under expectations but since SOE here is actually trying something really different it is almost impossible to be sure how things will go, and it doesn't help that we don't have a clue how the market looks at the release.
Look on EQ2, most people assumed it were going to be a huge success but the mix between a rather bad engine and Wows release a month after it came out made it into a pretty small MMO compared with the giants.
I still wouldn't bet any money that they can make this a success but anything can happen.
I think they've kind of squandered their 'lead' after the big announce. Maybe they will surprise us, maybe I'll win the lottery tonight.
I feel that with this year's showing of MMO's being the kind that don't project longevity (but then what game does?) they could have cleaned up and established a firm ground of subscribers that are loathe to change games.
With them still asking silly questions like "Do you like this art style for the Kerrans?" and "What color style works best for dark elves." makes me think that they don't have a good handle on how quickly they need to be working. With them announcing the failure-in-the-making of H1Z1 (Zombie games are so resident evil era) also makes me question their Vision for EQN as well. EQN should be ideally rounded enough, that it should be the spiritual successor to SWG as well as EQ.
That being said. If by some miracle they've finished their AI/script that is able to generate the entire world and have added integrated it with storybricks and are just establishing color and lore basepoints so they can flush out the story and related things. That's great.
However, after giving it some thought while writing this post. They can probably afford it take it slow. Realistically the only AAA game coming out in the near or distant future is Star Citizen which caters to a completely different crowd. The rest are going to be niche or indie type games that probably wouldn't directly compete with EQN.
I personally don't hold much hope for Titan. My impression is that blizzard has gotten too big to care/cater to the market of players that want something a little bit more complicated, and something that will provide a fast content cycle. It's difficult enough to keep interested in games longer than a month now, and blizzard's content cycle is far too slow for my tastes.
I think a few people are misunderstanding the comments made and what they actually mean.
No date* will be given. That doesn't mean that the game is 5 years away. They could have a closed alpha for EQN ready to go by Dec 2014 / Jan 2015 for all we know at this point. The comment about a date was just made so that they don't feel crunched to get it out before they're comfortable.
They clearly want to avoid giving false hope and avoid dealing with the outcry if they missed a target date. But that doesn't mean the game is years away from completion.
Landmark is great as a social building tool, but I can see why people are burned out on it. Right now it's just a building game. In time it will have combat, loot drops, dungeons, etc, akin to something like Terraria's game play. So if you're burned out of Landmark now, there will be plenty to get excited for in the future.

agree - I'm a SOE fan and did not intend for the twitter comment to be doom and gloom
my intent was to clarify to not get your hopes up
for a release date to be announced next week

troll..they ofc will give date for a date when they might give a release date - but EQ3 will never be vaporware untill SOE go bankrupt..
I don't care if it IS 5 years away, just make a solid, fun, well tested game. A whole game. No we'll patch in end game as it becomes available. No "we can fix these bugs later" nonsense. Complete the experience. Squash every confirmed bug. Then release.
I miss the days when you bought a game and you got a full game.

yeah, me too...
People that played Landmark, I'm sure have felt the potential for Everquest Next. The voxel engine to me really feels like it's bringing the genre into a new era. I see the possibilities.
On the other hand, I too lost interest when realising the actual landmark gameplay is still not here after more than 6 months of alpha and beta. Still no mobs in the game. Weekly updates are generally nothing more than a new costume in the marketplace, and when there is content, I've never seen it getting introduced without something else breaking.
The release of Everquest Next has to be flawless, and they can't be so lenient as they have been with Landmark updates. Criticism these days spreads like fire, on forums like MMORPG.com, and games can die from that alone. So I hope they do take their time.
You are grossly overestimating the amount of money they're making from people alpha testing their game and you're grossly overestimating the amount of players who are "getting their fill" from alphas/betas.
The population of people who won't even know about the game until launch, combined with the people who refuse to play alphas or betas, let alone the people who refuse to pay to get into an alpha or beta, is such a huge majority in comparison to the alpha/beta tester crowd.
I think a lot of this kind of resentment is stemming solely from selfish desire. Now now now me me me want want want. Players want it all, right meow..... but it better be bug free, feature rich and 100% complete. This mentality, though common, does not comform to the reality of any business, let alone games where you have to "find the fun" while developing them.
Game features that sound fun on paper may be terrible when you play test it.
Game features that sound easy to implement might cause a huge train-wreck of issues, or might end up being technically impossible or not practical once you start to code it.
Simply put, just be thankful SOE is taking their time with this game people. You'll get it when it's ready.

Funny, I don't recall posting any estimates.
As for the rest of your post........."Selfish desire"?
So you can make sweeping generalizations about the player base, but I can't say SOE has an incentive to continue making money?
Whatever.
