whats wrong with 2004 combat?
Dated. Tab targeting is lazy, removes a lot of skill from combat. No innovation. Press tab and tap 1 - 9 like nearly every other "mmo" made in the last 10 years. A feeling of "been there, done that." creeps up on you.
understandable that some people love it , some hate it. But c'mon people.. the same combat style for 10 years or more.. stagnates the evolution of gaming.
This kind of combat work best for Greifing, which seems is the only thing PVP'rs know how to do, cuz most usually lose in a fair fight. AS far as the rest of the game goes, as long as the LP system continues to give paying players an unfair advantage over free players, I dont see a whole lot of F2P players reaching the high levels and high-end crafted gear, they will go play other better games.
IMHO, the graphics so far are a big fail, EQ1 has better graphics than this game. (so far)
The graphics are amazing. Atleast on ultra settings. Maybe you should try playing it on those settings if you can?

THIS.
Not sure how he can see them as inferior to EQ1 graphics. Even EQ2 graphics don't come remotely close to being as visually appealing as ArcheAge. Granted...they don't seem completely state-of-the-art in some spots . Some of the textures are horrible....but to say EQ1 is better is both opinion and hyperbole.
Now..if you like the art style or general design concepts..then fine...but technically..I just can't agree. Which is fine for both of us I guess.
are they closed and haveing new areas released in closed state? whats the point? why dont they bring the game to release state first, then do new zones? lol just funny to me..
Yes the game is already released, in Korea. It's been close to 2 years now. So what you are saying is that XLG needs to stop developping stuff until the game is released in the west? That would be plainly retarded.

Gliders I accept and understand in the world .... it fits. Skateboards and cars do not!
Either way I have tested this game and just find nothing that pulls me in and keeps me there. It all has the been there done that feel. Now with Skateboards and cars it just breaks any feeling of immersion I could have had.

You might want to contact the writer of the Archeage Novels in Korea and let him know you don't agree with his vision of the world of Archeage cuz guess what.... this stuff is all in there!
While your at it, why don't contact the publishers too and have the books edited to have your personal immersion breakers written out.
Don't forget to leave your email address so he can contact you for immersion approval to avoid this travesty going forward.
I really really really really really am not sure about Hoodies and Skateboards. Quite a shock really...and the Hotrods and modern white lines on medieval cobbled roads ... hmmm
I have downloaded the game and will have a go in the Beta but I have to say my enthusiasm has taken a knock. I know they will be adding more races but now I'm worrying whether one of them will be Mario with a Kart you can buy from the Online Shop or worse still.... Sonic and Tails.
The ingredients in some parts of the game I think would be very ill advised for the West. I have no idea whats on the average South Korean menu but some of what I just watched is like having Custard on your Pizza.
Not too sure about the very Chinese Dragon-like, multi eyeballed flying carp serpent thingy either .... it's not very Peter Jackson is it.

The sloth glider is weirder, and I'm not sure Trion will keep it out. Probably just put it in the cash shop like it is in Korea. Everything's for sale in Korea.
Is Korea for sale too?
I'd grind coin if it meant I could buy an entire country!

Releasing it with a past version then promoting this update as something that's almost like an expansion or something further down the roads for "certain websites" to hype up works out so much better for them..

One guild or alliance will step up and recruiting half the players on the server putting a stranglehold on the rest of the players which will make lots quit.
Content updates like this are great but it's not going to stop that issue.
What will actually happen is that the smaller guilds/alliances will band together the more of a pain in the ass the larger guild becomes and then start ganging up on them.
That's what happened in Lineage 2 on Hindemith server. When the server got fed up with the larger aggressive alliance the server would rise up and kick them out of their castles.
I totally agree. At the beginning of Alpha, there was a large guild that PK'd a lot and pissed a lot of people off. Despite their numbers, being KoS with everyone else on the server forced them to disband. Being the biggest guild on a server just created animosity and makes you a target.
I suggest reading up on most full tilt PvP games, they were all ruined by massive guilds. Asherons Call, Eve, more than a few UO servers.

They are worse than useless because you want to believe them. They will defend you against critiques that are valid. They will seduce you into believing you are done learning, or into thinking that your work is better than it actually is." ~Raph Koster http://www.raphkoster.com/2013/10/14/on-getting-criticism/
Archeage has been optimized for right handed players only. apologies if you are left handed, Trion may enable left handed play at some stage though this cannot be confirmed at this stage. we suggest slapping you'r parents for selfishly making you incompatible with Archeage.

I suggest you don't talk when you have no clue what you are saying (EVE ruined? really? kinda funny considering it is the only 10 year old sub game still steadily growing).
Was invited to the most recent beta event; downloaded, installed, spent waaaaaay too much time in the character creation process, got in-game and started setting up my key binds...

... no mouse inversion in the control settings.
/uninstalled.
Good, one less potential QQer on the forums. If mouse inversion makes or breaks the game, I wouldn't want to know what other minuscule things you'd find to uninstall for (and would most likely go to forums and post about it, if you feel you need to share this here).
P.S. They're looking into it if XL can add it to the game. But I guess your extensive research into the game showed it won't ever be implemented or smthing. Who knows.

Game just getting better and better
That skateboard !!!
That Armor !!!
Those Ship modifications !!!
Great future ahead XLGames / Trion Worlds
Currently playing SWTOR and it's MUCH better than it was at launch.
And this is a negative? The MMO's pre-2004 were better IMO - games mostly suck now.
