thats sad but its not the games its that kid.

he probably has something wrong in his brain chemically and is mentally ill.

or he had some trauma in his childhood......

its not the games that do that.

but jack thompson and hilary will get so much ammo from this one....

In my opinion, a game with a powerful story has more influence in a person's personality than a game with just violence.

If instead of "Gamer", the word "Black", "Christian", "Republican" or anything identifying the person to a group of persons sharing 1 "positive" aspect together under such a bad label as a murder, it would have been flamed to death.

Gamers are passives and extremely nice, they bear that misstreatment.  Whoever write this using the term "gamer" deserve to be sued by a gamer organism, regroupment or a gaming company.  Microsoft would gain honor and loyalty from me if they would issued a legal warning that they intend to sue them should they not profess open apologies.  Microsoft could easily argue that they see to the best interest of their customers and will put the funds into "insert whatever charity organism" that provide passtime to ill children, like sending a kid to Disney World or something.

Those folks who like to label "Gamer" murder his sister should just say "Teen", "young adult", using "Gamer" is no more acceptable than using "Christian", it cause a prejudice to the group...and since this group won't defend itself, because gamers are way to nice to defend themselves, companies making profits with gaming should consider defending them.

You can say LATER in the article, that the teen happens to be a gamer, play hockey and have D results at school, exactly like you say LATER the same about just any other case.  But putting "Gamer" in  the headtitle is seriously starting to annoy me, folks who have no passtime and can't enjoy life themselves should stop repressing the groups who do.  If a no-life guy who is in pain in life and can't see anything nice about life is unhappy about his boring life, at least he can show the decency to not focusing his hatred on folks who are having a nice passtime!  Go get one.

Some people arn't meant to play video games, like kids with no friends who wear trench coats. . Also this isn't the game industries fault because this game was rated M for mature and he was only 16 meaning it was his families or whoever sold him the games fault. This is just what happens when you play console games, i'm a pc gamer for life !!! ::::28::

Hmm that same site has a link to casino type games... I find that to be funny. Don't play DMC type games but play games that might cause you to lose all your money.... nice. Is that a tablouid (spell?) type magainze/new site? Looks like it to me but since I don't live in the UK no clue.

Still, a couple of years in therapy must be cheaper then a 25 year prison stay?

In terms of tax dollars that is?

I did get you though Scara, but the sarcasm wasnt all that obvious, so I can understand some reactions..

If that kid had been one of the numerous psychos who kills people because of God or the Bible isntead I doubt that article would have refered to him as a Christian or shown pictures of Jesus getting crucified, etc. in place of the game's box art. I'd also be willing to bet that if that kid never touched a game he probably would have killed his family for another reason.

The self imposed ignorance and hypocrasy of the general public never ceases to amaze.

meh, he was a bad apple, video games are just the media favorite right now, 6 years back the fact that he played DnD would have been the reasons, 20 years back it would have been the rock and roll he listened too.

Its just media. Sad that sombody had to die, but yea.

hmm games and rock and roll, that's a good one

Generally when someone kills someone or commits suicide, it's because they are a horrible person or depressed or there is something wrong with them. When someone who plays video games kills someone or commits suicide, it's video games fault. It all makes sense now.

Make of it what you will.
