I am a founder, middle pack.  As far as I can tell it is just the steam sale you are talking about, the website is still showing the normal prices.

I do not feel ripped off, I got to play way before the steam people and still get the extra perks I got before.  Also as far as I know SOE opt into having a sale but valve choose the % so even if you blame them for something it isn't all their fault.  You should have just enjoyed the game as you thought you would when bought it.

It is a case of can't please all of the people all of the time and if I know the steam forums they are whinging about something else about the game!

Who says anyone isn't enjoying the game just as they thought they would when they bought it? That's not remotely what it's about. It's about lack of communication, devaluing items they said were going to be alpha founders exclusive, now selling a repaint of another exclusive, while ban hammering anyone on the forums who slightly disagrees with these things.

I never griped about anything with this game till now. I pretty much laughed at people who griped at things like 'omg copper 4 upkeep? only 5 days omg! so hard 2 login 2 get 6500 copper omg!' or stupid crap like that.

Or things falling behind schedule. That's part of alpha/beta. Those things I get and roll with. I'm just not keen on being dangled the carrot then getting the stick months later. Wouldn't have been hard at all to say 'hey founder's packs, they're gone now, here's the 2 you can get.'

Or 'hey alphas, here's a new flag only you will get!' I don't care if it's something cheesy and appearance item like that. Just a 'hey thanks' gesture. But knowing SOE for this long, that won't be happening.

    My god...

First world problems or what.  ROFL

To think a couple weeks ago where I live, they were whining and bitching about dog poop being dumped into the landfills and the resulting methane and greenhouse gases. Flush the Dog poop down the toilet they say.

To think that some actually have to worry about what they're are going to put in their belly.

Oh okay. Then unless you're living in squalor and a plague riddled desolate patch of death...you can't complain about anything. Thanks Gandhi.

The thread it was in is missing about 10 posts from it now, with three other people banned, who were even nicer than I was.

Or maybe you are just a big fan of Steven Segall hair and I offended you. :(

SOE is really touchy and their itchy ban finger is working against them. They banned me (4 day) as well that day for complaining. They would rather ban a customer than listen too them. That was the last straw for me. I won't do business with them again. So it is not even about the sale now it is about customer service issues and how they treat their customers. I did get a refund and that I am grateful for but SOE really needs to change their adversarial position with their customers. It will just weaken their reputation more and more.

Yeah I wonder if the same thread will pop up there. I wouldn't be surprised. It’s as if these types of people have been living under a rock for the past decade and are oblivious on how pricing trends have changed, or they are doing it for the sake of trolling and getting a kick out of some A-grade entertainment.

Hehe, the joys of being able to play a game in alpha months and years before it's official release, no better feeling right?

It's your own damn fault for those who got the founders pack in the first place. Things like this always happens and yes it will happen with ArcheAge when people realise how crappy the game will end up being and start putting founder packs at 50~75% off to attract the most people as possible.  It's all a gimmick people, the MMO industry for the most part, have become a bunch of crooks that only take advantage of the naive.

If a Pub / Dev is really serious about their work, example :  Blizzard, they won't ask for any cash up front because they know their product will deliver the goods that most people are looking for in a game.

Star Citizen was a project I had high hopes for, but lost complete interest in it, how many stretch goals before the stupid game goes live?  Most MMO's listed here have gone live for under 5% of what Star Citizen has grabbed up to now.

Early access, beta / alpha access are all gimmicks.   I hope most of you have learned from your mistakes, so from here on now we shouldn't have any other threads on how a Dev screwed / ripped off founders.  Just don't buy the stupid package in the first place, problem solved.

Yesterday I was invited to play the Archeage beta for free and I played it for all of 1 hour before I knew it was total excrement. The people who paid the money are going to be upset to say the least. The graphics were horrible and the whole system was the largest cash shop (money sink scam) I had seen in years. I do not like cash shops in general but these people took it to a whole new level of greed. It was so bad I actually laughed to myself and shook my head. You like mining or gathering stuff for crafting? Well you get 1 point every hour to gather materials. Did I mention it takes 10 points to harvest a node? So you need to wait 10 hours to regenerate enough points to harvest 1 node. Well you can just go to the cash shop and pay 15- USD and that problem is fixed for the time being lol. Oh and you also need those same points to identify every single item one finds in the game lol. I almost puked laughing so hard. Also the world is so big you have to have a horse or glider so you really need to buy one of those packages. SOE is starting to look better and better now.

Some people need to learn what the definition of a scam is. Unless they are some how forcing or tricking you into giving them money, it's not a scam. Just a monetization model you don't agree with.

If something's more expensive than you think it's worth, that's not a scam.

A lot of people just do not know what they are getting into until it is too late. There is a certain % of the population that falls for these marketing gimmicks almost every time. Technically it may not be a scam but they might as well be saying, "(All-Caps) Good Sir, I am told that you are a man of reputable trustworthiness, and I have a proposition from the office of the Prince of Nigeria...!"

If the initial charge was fine but became "unfine" when others could get it cheaper isn't falling for anything or being scammed by marketing gimmicks. It's being irritated that someone got I cheaper. Understandable but call it for what it is.
