Mine came and was perfect, no issues with the hardware, I just think it is a case of a few people uploading a video and people making a big deal out of nothing. The console feels and looks premium, I personally prefer the looks to the PS4 (which I will be getting when there are good games for it) and I have no quality issues with anything I have gotten, it even has a way more expensive looking box than the PS4.
I'm disappointed though, I haven't found a game I liked all that much that I cannot play on my PC or 360/PS3. I think Forza 5 is inferior to Forza 4 and the graphics aren't even that much of a leap forward, I compared them on two monitors side by side and they didn't look different apart from AA and some lighting. I also think Forza 5 had a graphical downgrade because the clouds are now 2D (not volumetric) and the crowds are 2D (not 3D) and... it isn't impressive. Aside from the graphics it's just lacking content and they've already locked all the good cars away behind paid DLC, every car I seem to want I have to pay extra for even though I've just bought the game. The tracks get boring quickly, there only seems a handful of them, it's pathetic and the Drivatars ruin the racing! I play SP to get away from dicks online, all this system does is brings them into the SP. Constantly I'm being crashed into by people who don't know how t use the brakes. It means I have to turn damage off as a result and I love having damage on in fair races.... the game is just crap, seriously stick to Forza 4, maybe even GT6 will be better.
The only other games that interest me are DR3 and Killer Instinct and it's sad that I said this is a better line up than the PS4, because really DR3 is the only thing worth playing on any of them that is an exclusive. Killer Instinct would be great but again there is very little content and what is there is locked behind paid DLC and buying the full game just isn't worth the price and the full game only comes like like 5 arenas and 6 characters or so any ways. Dead Rising 3 is ok but it isn't $500 worth of game.......
So you think the rest of the system can carry it? No..... there is no content on the system either, there are barely any apps, the 360 has more so why not just stick to that? Youtube doesn't even work well, it's missing anything that makes it personal to you, doesn't even have subscriptions. The TV functionality is crap, it like hears the first word you say and then ignores the rest, so all those channels that have lots of sub channels like +1 or HD or some other sub name like the Nat Geo channels........ you'll find it impossible to select them all.
Here is my problem with Kinect really, you cannot do a lot with it, you cannot easily scroll, you end up using the controller and you cannot easily search. Say for example I want to google something on IE....... well I have to type it with my controller. I cannot put a system in the living room for my family to use, that has no content and forces them to use a a remote control for the TV, an Xbox One controller and Kinect.... how is that more simple than just using a remote control for the TV and sitting down with their iPad?
Finally the controller is crap, the trigger rumble is crap, it doesn't even come out of the trigger, it you feel it on the plastic around the trigger. When playing Forza 5, people made a big deal over it but it just seems like it replaces the main rumble. Like if I'm drifting round a corner on the 360 controller, the normal rumble would rumble, on the Xbox One controller that doesn't rumble and just the plastic around the trigger does. I just see it as a pointless feature, I was hoping it would give me direct force feedback on the trigger, it doesn't, they still feel like before but the plastic around is rumbling..... it's a crap gimmick that doesn't work. The controller on the whole is crap, it's worse than the 360 one, it's too small, the bumpers are oddly placed that they aren't comfortable to use, the analog sticks are too small, the rims feel like sandpaper and they're too loose like the PS3 sticks.
On the whole Kinect doesn't work, not games are using it for anything that doesn't just break them, it's not good for the TV and there are no good apps to make the console worthwhile as a media hub, it doesn't even accept external HDDs or USB sticks. The games are crap, Forza 5 is a massive let down, the only thing worthwhile is if you're wanting third party titles and you don't own a PC, but at that point save your money and buy a PS4 instead and it'll be running them at a higher resolution.
I dunno what Microsoft are doing, but I'm selling mine, I have a PC for titanfall so I'm not excited about that. In fact I'm more excited for playing the new Mario game on the Wii U next month.

This mirrors most every Xbox One system review I've read. Sucks you didn't like it man. Maybe in a year or 2 they'll finally have the OS fully flushed out and finished.
On as side note, I've seen footage from the release version of Forza 5. It looks much worse than its debut and advertising material. Having said that, how's the actual driving? Every time I've saw the e3 footage, it always looked to me like the cars were sliding around a bit, and I know some of the reviews mentioned the cars sliding around too much.
Is that your experience as well, or does it still just drive like Forza 4?
My experience is a bit different. The Voice commands work but its something that does not really interest me so I don't use it. I did test out navigating with voice commands and if spoken correctly they will work most of the time. Sometimes I had to repeat some stuff but I plan to recalibrate the Kinect to see if that fixes it. The reason I don't use the Kinect is because using the controller is fast and fluid for me. There are only 3 blades so you its not hard to find what ever you are looking for. The app list is not as vast as the Xbox 360 but its not bad for a start. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/apps/xbox-one
Controller is sleek and feels more modern. It just fits better in your hand then the old one but it does not feel as solid. The new controller feels like if you drop it then it may just shatter in a million pieces. The rumble motors in the triggers are cool also but its not something that's a must have feature.
The TV aspect is interesting. Did not mess around with it a lot because I don't watch a lot of TV but what I found is that you can make your own custom channel. You can even add apps to this channel if you want. Say for instance you like Spike TV, AMC and Fox. You can add those 3 to a custom channel so you don't have to scroll down a list anymore to find them. You can also add apps like Netflix, Hulu and ESPN to that channel if you want. I have a custom channel so I don't have to scroll or look for anything. Even if you don't have cable you can make a TV channel of apps and use it the same way. That's what makes the TV feature cool to me.
The thing I like most about the console is that when you open something it does not close unless you actually close it. Once you open something once you can seamless switch between them instantly. Its good to be able to play a game and then do other things without having to close the game and load it back up again.
For me I like the Xbox One. I have Forza 5, Ryse and Killer Instinct. Enjoying them all and looking foward to what next.
If you want more info on Forza or the Xbox One.

You were warned. Xbox One is for social and media centre mainly. M$ want that territory and see this as a box way to get to it. That's why the hardware isn't as good as PS4 for games, the console is designed for social and media. Best to opt out of the M$ plan at the early stage. Ninetendo have better games.
Forgot about the Upload Studio. Being able to upload anything to Skydrive is cool.

The TV stuff is good if you're in the US, anywhere else and it is just a passthrough...
I don't like the bumpers on the controller, they feel like you have to stretch your finger more to use them. The controller almost forces you to use your fingers diagonally down so you can use both at one.... I just like the old way of doing it with the 360.
Forza 5 physics are good, the game however lacks content, there just is nothing to do on it. Career mode is basically going around the same 14 tracks again and again until you can unlock better cars to just do the same thing. All the categories are the same, there is no difference other than the car and you only ever do 2-4 laps, there is no qualifying, no practise, no pitting, no refueling, no weather, no day/night cycle and no dynamic damage. Each time you crash into something, you'll get the same faults pop up time after time... I just expected better damage these days.
Then apart from career you just have free race and the online, that is it! Like really? Seems so empty compared to the last Gran Turismo I played, in fact I'm going to pick up GT6 now (something I though I would never do) and just compare how much that has to Forza 5.
Yeah but again it's pointless because the quality is shit and if I go "xbox record that" it only does the last 30 seconds, it needs to be 5 mins at 1080p, that should only be 2gb according to my Nvidia Shadowplay.
At present time the TV side of X Box One is broken in come countries like the UK. Really bad from M$ to charge so much for a product that only works in the USA. Even worse parts strip-downs tell us that the parts of an Xbox One are only slightly more than a PS4, proving M$ are just interested in making hard cash profits out of gamers.
Its not pointless because it does not look as good as playing a game. We have a thread on another forum dedicated to sharing our game moments. Sure the quality is not the same as playing the real game but maybe that will get better later. Its good for what it is and that's sharing with other people. Never even tried the Xbox record that feature though. I have cable tv and use the TV function with my app channels only. When you plug in your HDMI from your cable box what do you get from it?
Nothing it's just a passthrough, no guide or anything and the Xbox One only has Youtube that always seems to go down and 4oD and that is it. The annoying thing is you need to pay for Xbox Gold Live thing to even use those apps which are free on any other platform.
It is shit, I sold it now anyways, I'll get a PS4 instead when it has good games, probably should have done it from the start, the Xbox One is a false promise, even the PS4 has BBCiPlayer, I mean come on Microsoft!
I wanted to do Xbox Fitness but it turns out that was false advertising too, there is only 1 Insanity workout and 2 P90X workouts.......... totally pointless then and not what was advertised at all, so misleading to make me believe I could do those on Xbox Fitness.
PS : is it possible for a user to use only GPU ram ? And not install ram stick?
I'm in uk and have a day one Xbox one, it runs fine, picks up voice commands ok, both mine and others. They have said they will work on uk tv but until then I have no trouble with it as I mostly listen to the same music channel or xbox music.
I can switch to titanfall easy and although I have to use the controller to choose the film I can get it running netflix which it does fine.
When the ps4 updates again I'll see if it has hopefully got quieter and then try that out again
Try campaign.... finding room for so many minutes. *sigh*
I havent seen any games that are interesting to me on the xbox but I have seen some on playstation.
All the games for Xbox seem to be for a Bro crowd which is my personal nickname of the xbox...the BroBox
