Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios have released a brand new trailer for the upcoming Star Trek Online expansion, Delta Rising. Delta Rising follows in the footsteps of the Voyager mission that returned thirty-two years earlier.

Set 32 years after the events of Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek Online: Delta Rising will bring players into the Delta Quadrant – a mysterious region of space recently made easily accessible through an ancient Iconian gateway. As players explore uncharted worlds and interact with alien species, they will partner with well-known crew members of U.S.S. Voyager to investigate an unknown enemy presence.

I guess this game is doing well financially then to be able to have major patch updates? I know Neverwinter is making a packet so maybe some of the money is going into STO. I tried it a few weeks back. I liked the new starter area but the combat put me off, plus when i ran into a wall i fell through and died a horrible death...in the starter area...such a shame, as I love ST:TNG and Voyager.

STO always financed themselves .. it was Cryptic who couldn't handle all the problems, so they sold it to PWE. since release STO had always a stable number of players and subscribers .. which allowed cryptic / pwe to expand the game.

I wanted to like the game, tried it as F2P and couldn't stand the character animations and combat.  the space combat seemed unintuitive as well.  I didn't last more than an hour or two

I imagine PWE is responsible because they actually want to do something with their property. Meanwhile, Champions Online rots in the gutter.

Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing.
