Just simply stated they have talked about it 10 years ago. A worthless news article.  WoD is set to launch 11/13 while Altar of Malice is set to launch 11/11. Do you think Blizzard is herding their children? Project Titan was setback and reiterated on to wait on better technology and is set to be ready hopefully after EQ Next. I also follow lots of Everquest Next devs and "blizzard careers" keeps popping up on my add friends list. All this clever marketing for the fact that every 6 months from now World of Warcraft will lose  a million people and  Draenor being the same game that lost 900,000 in three months it won't stop bleeding so they see Everquest as a potential foe by the time Next launches. Is WoW doomed for just item grinding while Next promises adventure gameplay and a storylines you create beyond a narrative?

Blizzard's only competition is itself. They have WoW, Hearthstone, Starcraft, Diablo, and Heroes of the Storm coming. "Titan" or whatever the new game will be could be a totally different genre and franchise. Much like Apple, some people simply love Blizzard's products and there is a variety to choose from. I wouldn't doubt if "Titan" comes out with similar FPS combat as EQN. FPS is the one area they don't have much going on, but I'd guess it will stay within the Warcraft franchise. I'm guessing the movie will bring a few people back to WoW as well.

Nothing lasts forever, WoW was a perfect storm and has done what most likely no other game will do in the genre. Millions still play and love it. The fact that it bleeds more players in a year then EQ or other "best games ever" managed to pull in at one time is pretty crazy.

WoW isn't "doomed" to anything. It is a simple game design and it obviously does well. As much as many of us dislike it (now), it was fun when I played it. Seems others have a much longer attention span.

EQN is a lot of "promises" currently. It could do amazing or not so much. It could be amazing and simply not bring in a lot of players for various reasons. Blizzard could announce news of their next game at Blizzcon this year, next, or whenever and suck all those on the fence back to their side. I hope EQN turns out as hyped and that I enjoy it, but if Blizzard's next project is just as good or better (subjective of course), I will be all over it. I enjoy good games, doesn't matter the company behind it or what universe it set in.

I went from EQ to DAoC to WoW as my main game progression. All three were totally different and all were fun. Has nothing to do with being a "kid" or any such thing. By the time WoW's 1st xpac game out, I realized I didn't want to do the same exact thing forever and moved on, no different then EQ/DAoC. EQN looks to be a great experience and the chance that the AI/world are actually more fitting of the term dynamic is what has me interested. If it can hold my attention by changing it up at least more than previous games, it should be good. Nothing stopping Blizzard from doing something similar if not more so now that EQN's cards are on the table. Blizzard has a lot of cash and fan base to do pretty much whatever they want and have a hit.

    Perhaps they will.

But if it is anything like WOW, dumbed down and made for the lowest common denominator, I will spend another 10 years playing better games.

Noone over 28 is going to play Project Titan. IMO Destiny will kill any of it. I heard its like TeamFortress 2 meets WoW. Same cartoony Game. Destiny's user interface reminds me of Arcade games in 2004, both are very similar. It took 10 years to get that graphics into a console. Though Destiny is still slightly dumbed down due to color coded equipment. We made better games with limited technology but Finally, Destiny is made by someone who is futuristic and smart and not some common man. EQ1 still remains the smartest game ive played and its time as a society to move on from a failed generation of games or at least teach them (though i don't want nothing to do with them, it's hard).

...That's essentially what being smug is. Acting like you're so blatantly right that even the thought of someone disagreeing with you is appallingly stupid and comical. you have a good chance of bullying them into believing you.

There is no information on what Titan is/was anywhere so I dont know how you can take anything you hear as truth. And many people who play WoW are over the age of 28 ( the average age is higher than that the last I saw ) so saying no one over the age of 28 will play Titan is also odd.

Looks like Blizzard's money grubbing tactics of dumbing the game and taking a great genre and making it accessible for people who play farmville will backfire on them.

Update us on this after the WoD expansion launches. It has taken a population hit in the past couple years, but this next expansion has big changes that should bring a lot of people back.

they said that ab out every expansion and it keeps dropping.

They've never introduced housing before. The only problem I ever had with WoW was boredom after I geared my character up after the newest expansion. With the new garrison system, I will now have something to do besides raid and explore.

WoW is far from being in trouble, but I think its glory days are behind it.

Gotta agree.  It'll never reach 12 million, but it's still the most played MMO.  I always have to laugh when people that say it's dead.  The most played MMO is dead...right...

Muh user base. Noone with a complex mind is enthralled by WoW. WoW, not Blizzard, ruined PC games by showing the industry that a dumbed down product is the only way to appeal to the masses. Now everyone that tries to be successful has to be accessible for everyone. Nevermind they nailed the Everquest formula. The bulk of the population is drawn by the"casual"(dont know any other word) features and they never did expand on the EQ formula or evolve which means Blizzard has no integrity to games in general. They don't make games in general better. They make games worse and should be dethroned. If everyone thought like me, Blizzard would have 70x12million (840 million) instead of 12 billion. Because once you try it. Its not a good game and you quit and don't look back because it was meh.

Could you give some examples of fantasy mmorpgs that complex minds would enjoy? EQN is trying to be the new WoW, simply in different ways. Which I have no problem with. I enjoyed WoW for a time and will hopefully enjoy EQN for a longer period. I've yet to play a game before/after WoW that is "better" beyond subjective likes/dislikes. Blizzard made the genre in to what it is for good or bad. Without them we wouldn't have the wide variety of games most likely, regardless if they are good/bad in our eyes.

More horror mythos then fantasy but The Secret world was a great game that didn't do well simply because it made too many people realise just how dumb they are.

The is laughable; suggesting that TSW players somehow "get-it", while bashers are just to dumb to comprehend the game. I play TSW, and I can attest that it's chock FULL of idiots.
