I dislike PvP, this the wrong game for me?

nucjimbonucjimbo Member Posts: 33

Hi fellow MMORPG players. I'm a big fan of PvE, exploring, making stuff, having fun with folks...but I detest PvP with a passion. People are rude enough in real life...I don't want to have that when I do a game too.

Is this the wrong game for me? The class system intrigued me. I miss being an EQ1 Enchanter.

I'm not that big into world pvp either, but I'm hoping I can get over that...

I figure the game is fun enough without the pvp, maybe something with the pvp will push the rest of the game.. dunno

    so...

I think unless you like "working" for your guild the game might become a bit pointless if you don't enjoy pvp. I guess it's a bit like soloing in eve. People do it and enjoy it...I have no idea why or how though :)

I also was never a big fan of PvP but in AA there are hardly any consequences for getting killed by other players. You lose no items or xp but you do suffer a little bit of equipment damage. Personally I find it more exciting knowing that I have nothing to lose, although I know a lot of hardcore PvPrs may get turned off by that.

What do you mean by "working"?

This game revolves around open world player versus player doesn't it?

It' s not true open world pvp though. there are peace periods in most of the pvp land when you can't attack nor be attacked. and in your own land thats not contested you have to physically attack an enemy player before they can attack you or you never have to fight them

I think arche age did a great job of blending forced and non forced pvp into one game.  If you want to fight go to a contested land, if not go to a peaceful one or wait for one to become peaceful after the war

Working as in gathering, farming and supplying your guild instead of participating in the PvP I would imagine.

I had a great time solo PVEing in Alpha.  But having a guild brings out of lot more from the game.

I avoided danger zones, and cross the ocean as quickly as possible when necessary.

If you want to do a lot of farming and crafting, a lot of guilds will be thrilled to have you.

Yup, Bores me to tears thinking of PvPing in this game. I'll be questing and exploring in Archeage (no crafting for me, had enough RNG crafting in D3 to last me a life time).
