There's this main storyline quest that requires you to solo kill a boss, raid doesn't work. If multiple people hit the boss, nobody gets the reward. The result? 30 people standing in line trying to finish this quest while a few trolls let nobody finish it

Game's a fukn joke. I've never seen such piss poor programming in 10 years gaming

One solution might be you leave the game and wait for a fix and let one of the 2000+ waiting in queue make the same experience. :)

Sadly this is the kind of thing that doesn't show up in Alpha.  No excuse, I'll grant you that.  In this day and age there's no reason for oversights in development like this.

However, let's be honest here.  If you're playing this game for the themepark / story, then you wouldn't have liked it anyway.  The real game is its sandbox elements, and THOSE are designed very well.

    Also, in before DMKano.

Alpha? This game is a year and a half old.

I'm surprised this crap still exists in games. Kill stealing was everywhere in old MMOs and only trolls liked it. You'd think they'd stop making OW bosses quests or go down the GW2 road and let people share kill credit.

And how is that going to help with griefers that keep hitting the boss the moment it spawns?

Youre correct.  I forgot the game was in retail in 2 other countries.  Even less of an excuse.  Shouldn't have this crap going on in new games with today's technology.

So, I logged into this to have a potter around - cause it's the greatest thing EVER and all. It's meh. Or I don't get the fuss. Average graphics, and it's so plastic and crass. It just looks really fake and cheap. The character animations are average too - although they look amazing in the character creator. That was the most fun I had actually playing as such. Giant stupid arrows, that awful narrator / help thing, and the character names everywhere. Yuck. Even in the starter area it was all low level creatures to play wackamole on - wow. Haven't we come along way. It was free though, so no loss. I guess it gets amazing later on? Like Destiny perhaps? First impressions are terrible.

Let's be honest here... You're making excuses for poorly designed content.

The "real game" is everything the game offers; all its content - not just the parts you happen to prefer, particularly for the purpose of replying to someone on a message forum. Attempting to dismiss valid complaints by suggesting someone "may not be playing the real game", is vacuous, apologist nonsense.

If the developers placed content in the game, it's with the intent that people will participate in it. If they've designed the content poorly, to the extent where it can be easily trolled, as described, then it's a problem with the game. It shows a lack of forethought on the developers/designers' part, and needs to be fixed. Broken content is broken content.

People need to stop making excuses for broken games and/or systems.

LOL the op is so right about this. The starter area is even worse. You get a quest to kill foxes and boars and it takes forever to do it. I sat there laughing at how dumb this is and logged out and never went back. There were so many players that you couldn't even make out the mobs your surpposed to kill.

Another Archeage sucks threads.  Add it to the others.  Wish they would just pile on one of them.

You are not the only one.  I think most of the people playing it are just desperate for a MMO it gets sort of a pass.  But with the P2W, poor game design, the way housing was handled and the prime spots gone in like 2 days, the list could go on and on and on.  It is an OK game but nothing too special at all.

So much this... a game is all of it's parts as that's what comes together to form a game...

Defending poorly designed features, systems, schemes ( like charging lp to report people) is just asinine.

I dont find weird at all someone make a threat with this title, personal opinions are personal.

But this title only because of this issue?  really?

Even me, a AA fan could make a bigger list of issues about AA.

I dont say if it is a good or bad design, but my experience is diferent from yours. Any place i go to do a quest and theres plenty of ppl, everyone get in a raid and do the quest at same time.

Players are still hable to solve certain things in game nowdays, isnt that great? Maybe theres still hope to humanity after all image

I dont know. I never had that issue. I just hopped into a raid with 20 other people around THAT same boss and we all got credit for it when it died.

Anytime there is a small group of mobs you need to kill and lots of people. All you have to do is group up and/or raid up and you will all get kills for the kills. I hae never had issues with being in a raid not counting for kills on quests.

Ok to be fair, this post was even more buggy than the game itself.

Archeage is, at lesst, so far NOT P2W. The housing problem isnt just poor design, it is extremely poor design. The prime spots were not gone in 2 days, they were gone in 4 hours.

Archecage is filled with bad game design. There are trolls on this forum that could have done it better.

But there are also good things:

Archeage presents some of the best graphics in modern MMOs (like ESO and TSW).

    Archeage landmass is fairly big.

Archeage has some very cool pirate fight options.

Archeage production quality is fairly good (in comparison with other MMOs).

Sadly, if you don't like the game immediately, why waste time leveling, if you want to poke your eyes out as it is so boring. Saying it is the Sandbox elements that are designed well. HOW DO YOU KNOW? have you played them? Full loot PvP - is a gankers dream and that is what this game will be. It will be EVE in Fantasy land.

I left this game in the dust long ago, like yesteryear.

    Which all begs the question:

Why did a subscription model game have to convert to F2P in 2 previous markets?

C'mmon Botrytis, i know you dont like the game and like to post about it, perfect fine, but dont lie about it plz.

AA is not full loot, not even close.

And put EVE and AA in same group? really?

  • ohioastroohioastro Member UncommonPosts: 534

From the outside it looks as if they designed a model that is sensible for a subscription game (e.g. labor points, etc.) and then grafted a microtransaction model on top of it.

If everyone has a sub, let everyone accumulate LPat the same rate on/offline.  This removes sever stress.  But this doesn't work with the "free" accounts - make as many as you want to flood the servers and the system breaks.  I don't think that they thought this through and I don't see an easy resolution.  A few people can hog a lot of resources, and if MMO diehards in AA are the way they are elsewhere this is someone setting up 20 free accounts to harvest all of the stuff on their 2 paid ones...

Except FFXIV had nearly this exact instance happen during their open beta with a non-instanced boss fight and only one person being able to do it a a time leading to a massive line including trolls and they had it fixed by time the game launched the next week.

So this type of thing should have showed up and they should have had it fixed before the game launched.

  • GeezerGamerGeezerGamer Member EpicPosts: 8,857

Even in old MMOs like Anarchy Online where KSing exists, credit always goes to someone. Who ever does the most damage. OFC it's easy for high level toons and/or Twinked out toons to grief, but Teams and groups could still compete. This sounds ridiculous where you have to deal 100% of the damage to get credit? Well, these same trolls will be crying on the forums about how quickly this game went down hill, in 2 months when they have no one left to grief.

You'd think developers would have learned by now.................
