[Column] Star Wars: The Old Republic: Forged Alliances Finale Spoilers and a Teaser for the Future

While it's been out on the Public Test Server for awhile and available in the live game since last week, the Rakata Prime Flashpoint teased at the PAX Prime Cantina Tour Stop does indeed complete the trilogy of Flashpoints that lead directly into the as-yet-unrevealed next expansion for Star Wars: the Old Republic.  This past Tuesday, Community Manager Eric Musco and Lead Writer Charles Boyd took to the game's official Twitch channel to run through the Flashpoint and revealed who the big bad of that expansion might very well be.  Please note that this will spoil the ending of the Rakata Flashpoint, so if you don't want to learn more, you might wish to wait to read this article until after you've played through it.

played the game when it first cmae out..thought to myself Meh...went back a few days ago and am having a blast..now this is personal preference and taste and many will argue with me but the game at its current state has much improved and is very fun

A lot of people have come back to the game recently (including myself).

There's plenty to see and do.  I've yet to be told to spacebar a FP.  Groups are common and I have no issues finding people to do datacrons/heroics.

I'm glad to see.  Yea the Cartel Market is in there.  Most of the stuff I've gotten from that I've immediately put into the GTN for other people to snatch up.  With a few exceptions, nothing is priced higher than premium players can afford (350K).

one of my pet peeves is people asking me to spacebar the fp...i haven't seen many of them and i think it kills the story if you sspacebar through them..but ya the game has come a long way

That is funny. . on launch everyone was demanding you spacebar through the group areas.  I have not seen that once since playing for the past 3 months.   I did see someone ask if everyone had played it and would mind SBing.  Someone said they hadn't and the person had encouraged them them watch the cut scenes etc.

I also found the game lacking when I played at launch and am enjoying it now.

Wa min God! Se æx on min heafod is!

I and 3-4 of my friends have come back to this in the last month or two as well. I've subbed again, I bashed this game after I quit a month or two after launch and it deserved it.  Well maybe the game has gotten better, or maybe my expectations have been altered, but I am thoroughly enjoying this game and w2ill be subbed to this for a long time to come. At least until I finish all classes stories. By that point, maybe they will expand the class stories and there will be bigger expansions to continue through. I will remain subbed to this, between this and my newfound gem Project Gorgon, I'm once again happy with MMORPG's.

I wonder if everybody who came back to SWTOR is playing on NA servers.

Because, whenever I log in on my EU server, there's like 20 people per planet. Is everybody max level? Also, I don't know anyone (either in person or over the forums) who is playing this game.

    I'm puzzled.

I'm hoping it's not realy Revan but someone using Revan's name to get control of the revanites.  Lots of people want Revan to come back,  but I'm with the OP. It's been done already.

I realy wish we could get an OP or just a FP where we get to fight our enemy faction.  Fill it up with generic jedi's and troopers and droids that easily switch out with sith and imperial soldiers and droids. Even if it was just the first couple of bosses in an OP and the last few was shared it would make a difference to me.  I'm getting tired of fighting imperial gone rogue as imperial aligned.

I recently returned after being thoroughly underwhelmed at launch. The game has improved a LOT. There is a healthy population, and I enjoy the PvP quite a bit. It's pretty casual, but that's perfect for me since I have little free time. Having a blast.

I have been playing this game now for 4 months, I love the game, I have one character at max level and working in 7 others, a little bit here, a little bit there, every day I play is different and every story is different, I am having a blast. Not rushing anything, each class plays so different from the other that when I have not played one class for a while I almost have to re-learn everything.

LOL I am such a duffus.  I think right now is the best MMO out there.

want 7 free days of playing? Try this

Granted, I don't play on all EU servers, just two - but both are very very active, with many of them having more than one instance (and generally an instance holds 100+ people).

So miles away from the "20 people per planet". Unless you go to the old level 50 dailies areas (hardly planets) where you will indeed find less people because few bother with it when they could be doing the 55 dailies instead (if you're going to run dailies anyway it makes sense to do the ones with the biggest rewards).

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

I have to agree with the simple point that to keep the game fresh and interesting Bioware needs to create new content. As a huge fan of both kotor games I don't mind the hint of Revan being involved in the upcoming expansion simply because at the end of the Republic flashpoint Revan walks off to do who knows what; so adding him in to another storyline does make sense I do understand about the flip flop back and forth from light to dark. I am looking forward to a new expansion with new quests possibly a new planet or maybe more than 1. I would like to see them expand Manaan and give players more to do there other than a FP. I hope they do raise the level cap. I would also like them to add storyline that is more focused on the individual classes like the storyline going from 1 - 50.
