There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein "Graphics are often supplied by Engines that (some) MMORPG's are built in" - Spuffyre

I could imagine... Someone posts in the hot-ticket thread of the day, and across the room you hear a "hmph!" when someone's thumbs start flying across their smartphone. Rinse and repeat until everyone's hands were cramped haha.

mate, drunk people say what sober people think. If you do not want to get drunk you must have some scary thoughts.
And that is why "lack of inhibitions" are bad
I am usually a "Happy Drunk", but with some topics, being drunk would end up being "pound first, think about it later", just for the sheer stupidity of some people's views

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse. - FARGIN_WAR
Wouldn't make a difference - you'd have a room full of folks on their smartphones/tablets/laptops.
lol, true except for me.
I've yet to get on that bandwagon.
I was waiting in line at one of the PAX events when I realized everyone in that line, with the exception of a few older people, were looking down at some device.
Me? I had a newspaper in case I wanted to read something.
@OP: I think some people would be less confrontational, some people would appear more "shy".
Some years back on this site someone put up a poll asking whether the forum goers were introverts or extroverts. For the most part most of the respondents were introverts.
Well, except for me. I was the extrovert. Though in truth I might be an Omnivert.

First thing I'd do is ear punch Narrius, then I'd find Kyleran and talk about the good old days of DAoC.
No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

wow .. you will get violent just because someone like different styles of games and have the guts to talk about it on a public forum?
yes I would.
Another thing I've been wondering is: does sucking the fun out of things come to you naturally or is it something you work on... like a learned skill? From your post history over the past few years I'm beginning to thing that it might be a rhetorical question and that you were both born with this "innate ability" and spend almost 20 thousand posts mastering it.

wow .. you take gaming far too seriously, and you have millions and millions of other gamers to punch.
If this forum is not fun for you, why bother to come? It is a boat load of fun for me.
Gimme a break with the shock and awe; when you behave the way you do on an internet forum, this is the kind of reaction you get. You can call it "forum PVP", "fun discussion", whatever you want. No matter how subtly you do it, when you spend years continuously throwing rocks at the hornet's nest don't act all surprised when you get stung.

Elect Kyleran King (he has more honor and wisdom than most)
Then take a seat and watch the bloodbath ensue.
Maybe listen in on someone's story of an ancient MMO and the unique experience they had.
In all honesty, I'm the type that would probably be sitting in the corner playing my game of choice.
But if someone approached me I would be more than willing to have a nice civil conversation.
Like clicking on a rock for hours upping mining skill, and a griefer came along and kill you and loot all your stuff?
That is pretty "unique" in today's games where players are protected against that kind of nonsense.
