Do you afk a lot?

If I understand it correctly you get Labor points while ingame, do you guys also just idle around afk to get Labor points?  Seems like a odd system, would prefer if it was linked to activity instead.

Yes , i am . From 5 minutes to 20 minutes in some case . But if i need to AFK for longer , better just log off than let my character sit around .

I play in newer servers so the queue wasn't big .

Nah, i normally follow the rules. Atm its against the rules so i dont do it.

Have friends trying everthing they can to keep char in afk mode, one was allreayd be report few times, now have a "high suspicious" buff on account or something like that.

    It's a flawed idea.

They are using positive reinforcement to keep players online.  I see how this would work in Internet Cafes, but over here it just spells trouble.

Yes people are afk'ing all over the place in this game to get labor points.  Especially since they fixed the character screen labor point generation a couple days ago.  Most people are just using click macros to move them every few minutes to avoid being kicked.

Its a stupid system. If you want to be a dedicated crafter you basically have to afk 24/7 as well as roll a couple of alts to chug pots every 12hrs so you can play. I can see this system leading to a lot of burnout for players as it doesn't seem designed with how Westerners play.

Yep. If I need to do something outside of the game for a while I'll just leave the game on, don't really see why not. Doesn't make much sense not to seeing as how incredibly stingy they are with giving you labor points and how incredibly greedy they are with taking them away from you when you want to do anything.

I personally don't afk LP generate, but I see soooooo many doing it everywhere!

I have leveled one toon to 50 and have taken part in many parts of the game. It is impossible even as a Patron to receive enough LP without AKF nd pots. Other parts of the game (the more I play) have become lack-luster and dull. The cities are just empty shells with little life to them nor atmospheric effects. The quests are mind numbing and just repeat themselves to the point reading the content is useless. If you are not a monotonous crafter or a PK'er then there wont be much else to offer you in this game.

It is NOT a sandbox what-so-ever! The fact they advertise it as one is very misleading. There is no creating and changing the environment... you are restricted to set boundaries for farm and house placement.... basically you become part of a virtual projects... being stacked on top of each other (unless you managed to partner with a guild and spaced out your land).

I apologize for getting off topic at the end.

If you don't want to create a macro just go sit down in the courthouse. You can afk and not get kicked.

You get a debuff whenever someone reports you for being afk using the in-game report function.  The debuff name escalates with each new report on the individual until eventually you get banned/booted.  You can remove the debuff merely by pleading your case to a judge in-game... costs like 10 LP to get it removed.

The LP system basically rewards those who are afk.  So long as the game is all about spending time and not so much doing, it will continue.

Don't think you get  LP while afk.

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.

You get 5 LP or 10 LP every 5 minutes while in game.  That's doing nothing or doing something.  I don't think peeps are flagging themselves as AFK... just actually AFK.

This is probably the only way to afk without using any 3rd party programs or macros. The wonderful thing is, people that have those seats are selling them for gold! Amazing how an MMO turned "sitting down in a chair" into something profitable!

That's how you know your game designers have succeeded in creating a compelling and fun experience right?

Ok there seems to be a real lack of understanding here. If you are actually a Patron (as I am) and not just claiming to be you would realize Patrons get LP even when they are logged of so AFK does not matter to us (other than ques).  I am guessing no one who has posted on here is a actually a patron otherwise you would know this implicitly.  As for non paying players everything mentioned does apply.

All the time, have responsibilities that can take up various amounts of time or can happen in an instant. But its apart of life.

It's possible some of the patrons here are afking to ensure the greater LP regen while online. But they may not know that as soon as you AFK, your regen rate drops to the offline rate. So you might as well log off unless you use some prohibited method to remain in game while afk.

    Jaedor,

Good point, I forgot to mention that wrinkle.

Odd business concept. Make you need to stay in game to earn lb to play, but ban you if you stay in game to earn lb to play.
