Hi all , been Playing WoW off and on for about 6 years. I started playing at the end of BC, just before WoTLK. Wrath was my fav by far than the last 2 expacs. The last two expansions were like too different games for me. it just wasn't the same love and fun like wrath. I probably will pick up WoD, cauce,  WoW is the best mmo I ever played imo. No new classes and maybe a new hero class would have been cool( as I liked the DK's. although, that class, was more op'ed than Blizzard expected.)  but, this could be a step backward for them imo. I think its the last kick at the can for Blizzard for this game. I do hope its not, just have to see.

Think about what you will be actually doing:

Boring solo questing > Waiting around to raid / dungeon /pvp.

By the end of your "progression" you will be doing EXACTLY what you are doing now, Or last time you left.

I really like the incentive to explore the zones now, you can find allot of treasures if you look in every nook.

i didn't dabble to much into the Garrisons but from the little i saw i really like them, especially since they will impact your gaming experience, you can use tanks and bodyguards in the game world and even nukes.

Content wise this is definitely the biggest expansion to date.

We're getting less new features in this xpac, then any other xpac released, and it costs more

WoD has more new "features" than BC and WotLK combined...what the hell are you talking about lol

Probably because Blizzard is compelling players with the 'Anniversary' content to buy the expansion immediately. The Anniversary content is really the only reason why I would buy WoD, and the only reason why i would be playing it.

The only reason you would buy a full expansion, one that includes more content and new features than BC and WotLK combined, would be to run an Molten Core LFR?

People buying "out of curiosity" are the reason why MMO genre is dead. Stop blindly buying games, you will do us a favor.

I'm not even going to buy this xpac, like you said - it's just going to be another let down. They killed the vanilla feel with cata, then poured a mountain of sharpy marker panda faces  on top of it... I would have been fine with cata and onward if it hadn't killed my past life so hardcore.

You know it and i know it,  that you will end up buying this expac or subscribing again.

The new models and animations rocks. A lot of old and new players are joining simply for new models because believe me it has a huge impact on gameplay.

More content and new features... nope. Not even close.

I'll also repeat myself - the Anniversary content is the only reason I ever considered getting the expansion, and will be the only reason I play that game. That is why they are making such a big fucking deal out of it. They know that they will get unit sales out of it. I am exactly who that is aimed for, but they hope I will stay.  I'm not and most people are not. Come January when they yank that content, after everybody has got new stuff to do, it will be a ghost town again.

He is right. You can do side by side comparison and you will find WOD is releasing with more over all content.

I am very curious to hear what it is you think constitutes the overall more content. That you are using very general and vague terms such as 'over all' is a red flag.

I'm on PTR as well. I do like the stat squish because it cuts down on dps, heals, etc "Bloat". I like the glowies around whatever you have targeted (beats the crap outta healthbars flying all over the place). However........New character models are lame and still look hideously outdated. I was hoping for something more with the new models but it's so subtle i can barely tell a difference. My wife said the same thing and she is an artist IRL.. Garrison's I am iffy about as i haven't tried them but I've heard alot of negative things about them and professions. I don't mind the not being able to fly bit. That's fine. Most mmo's don't fly. EQ did and made it worthwhile. WoW did and it's just kinda...ok? Why the griffon masters? Just give everyone flying or take it out? Personally i say take it out and enjoy the ground mounts and scenery.

Blizzard is not very adept at pushing out "high quality" XPac's since BC days i'm afraid (my opinion). WotlK was alright. Also it takes them entirely TOO long to add content. Sure quick patches to add stuff here and there but... for the massive player base that plays at different speeds it is a slap in the face to such a dedicated player base to keep us from enjoying new content year after year...normally it's 2yrs or more which is ungodly cruel.

Everquest 1 did xpacs right up until PoK xpac. They pushed out quality content, brutally difficult week long raids, etc etc but they were consistant in releasing content to keep everyone satisfied and NEVER bored. Blizzard could take a queue from SOE (i hate soe now btw) back in the day.

I have high hopes for this xpac but i'm afraid I might be let down just like MoP. I absolutely hated everything about MoP except for Timeless Isle. That was genius. The rest was far from genius. Too much of the same "atmosphere". I got tired of seeing panda's and asian symbols after the first 3 months of MoP release.

We need something diverse, expansive, imaginative, and dare i say it -- groundbreaking; from Blizzard.

These days IMO WoW is an average run of the mill MMO...that i do still enjoy playing but...it could be ALOT better. The reason most people stay is because the fluidity of the game and the fact it'll play on just about any computer built in the last 11 years. The new MMO's that have come out since 2010 have actually been decent MMO's. (SWTOR, Rift, Wildstar, ESO, The Secret World (my personal fave), Guild Wars 2, FFXIV:ARR). But the thing is these games require higher system specifications. Not everyone can afford a new computer or heck a used computer from 3-4 years ago. WoW tends to lean towards alot of noobs and "young" people playing these days and kind of forgot about us old school gamers. I have mad respect for the new MMO companies coming out... it's just that people aren't giving them the chance. Even after several months they end up scattering after launches (we all know launches are 9x's out of 10 terribad. Vanilla WoW had a horrible launch but what changed for Blizzard was the fact they implemented a very quick fix on it and due to the graphics model they used it was relatively easy and inexpensive to fix since WoW is very cartoony. New MMO's are not except for Wildstar. Wildstar had to much flare and not enough fire.

Over all means what it means in plain English. That is why i told you to make side by side comparison. I can do it for you but what is the fun in that.

I think the put the rest of the game in the bin while starting at 90 is reasonable. Of course not for truly begginers but once you level a toon to 90 once or twice it's just a LOT of bussy work. And the coolest things are lategame anyway. Besides, and don't get me wrong it's really well made, but it's really an outdated experience by now. It's probably the best tailored leveling experience even now. But it's still really outdated. At least this is my view.

I did that for Cata and MOP, but will not be doing that this time around; which makes me sad as WoW is still one of the best games I ever played. I bought MOP, and didn't even make it to 90 until about 7 months into the xpac, and barely played after that. I didn't even raid or Arena in Cata the way I did Vanilla through Mid-Wrath for that matter either. I'm just glad I got to play the early years up until around the dungeon finder made it's way into the game.

The game is a lot different now in many ways, and I just can't stay interested enough anymore to justify buying and subbing. Just reading over the coming changes it seems like way less than what was brought to the table for TBC and WotLK. The bar has been set pretty low since the original devs have moved onto other projects. It's really not the same game anymore - which, admittedly, is probably for the best as the target audience changed a while ago.

With the xpac coming and no intention of buying this one, this is the moment I know I've completely moved on from the game even if I haven't really played it for real since around the summer of 2009. GG, WP, WoW, thanks for the first 4.5 years, and good luck going forward!
