Email from late last night (see below). Another thank you but we're too busy. I think I am done with this one. I may try again in six months but no point pursuing this on my end any further,
"Greetings,
Thank you for contacting us in regarding ArcheAge. We want to begin by apologizing for the long delay prior to replying to your request for support. We have been positively overwhelmed by the reaction to ArcheAge over the past week.
Due to this overwhelming response, and the number of support requests we have received as a result, we have been unable to provide each request the individual attention that we would like in a timely fashion. The following support articles might help you resolve your issue. If these steps do not resolve your issue please update your ticket letting us know the steps didn't work."
Game will only launch for me, if I turn off my AV while it loads up....after I get in game, I can turn it back on. They need to fix this. Glyph has lots of issues, I hope they weren't planning on competing with Steam, lol. Once I am done with AA, I will delete Glyph.
You need to disable (completely) Windows Defender, and add exceptions for Glyph and Archeage to any/all software firewalls that are running on your system.
If you're running a hardware firewall then you will need to go into the config interface for it, likely accessed through your browser, and add the required exceptions there.
I had the exact same issue as the OP, and these steps fixed it entirely.
This issue has nothing to do with AV or firewall. It is due to Documents folder being stored on a network drive.
i cannot believe the level of incompetence I have received from Trion regarding this. It appears they have not read my original ticket and keep sending me canned responses that has NOTHING to do with the problem. Then they threaten to close the ticket.
i have NEVER experienced tech support as bad from any other software publisher in all my years as a gamer or in the IT field. It's simply inexcusable.

There was a twitter post a while ago that they are under ddos attacks again and it's affecting all Trion games.

I'm giving up on this Beta test.....life is to short.
The issue of the game not launching has multiple causes. One is like you say that the Documents folder is stored on a network drive.
Another cause can be the AV. I had to exclude the ArcheAge folder in my AV before my game would launch.
