And I am happy to say that Miguel and team have decided to allow players to earn Rogue trader points by playing the game and with them you can buy sidegrade weapons that were cash shop only.

That is a huge news and I can say now that this game is not P2W :) Thank you a lot Miguel and Behaviour, Eternal Crusader got new founder :)

Yea this will likely turn out to be planetside 2 though where it takes ages to unlock stuff if you don't pay.  I just hope the actual gameplay is good.

Miguel should go with the GW2 model with their current subscription option.

B2P the for base game, expansions, and themed specialized packs (Example: Eldar Everything pack from the cash shop at a decent discount)

F2P option with F2Waaagh Ork Boyz (Unlimited Trial essentially)

Cash shop with RMT (Real Money Trade)

    • Players purchase Rogue trader points (RTP) with cash
    • Players can subscribe and earn RTP Monthly
      • +10-2-% bonus RTP for subscribing with consistent revenue
      • Other Subscriber bonuses such as random consumables or free Monthly cash shop item "rentals"
    • Or Players can earn ingame currency that can be traded for RTP at a decent rate much like GW2.
      • Perhaps tie this specific currency to achievements, focal gameplay points (Large World Objectives) or other desired actions the developers want to steer the players to do since this will be a coveted currency. Use it as the carrot on the stick to drive the playerbase to the intended gameplay focus as it evolves.
This would let everyone have their choice of monetary contribution while making everything able to be earned in game.

Also, I am currently owner of the $120 Captains pack plus day one subscriber to date and I have zero issues with making "my" founders perks, rogue trader shop items and RTP able to be acquired ingame by others through play. It doesnt devalue my contribution and I understand the value it will bring to stabilizing the community.

One of these days I am going to apply to work for Miguel! lol

That's the point, in free 2 play games you either spend money or time. If you can unlock stuff stuff too quickly there would be less incentives to put money in the game other than to help the company out of generosity, or like me just to clear your freeloader's guilt.

If you don't have the time to play the game long enough to unlock items/guns through gameplay, chances are you have a job which means you can afford to put a 10 bucks in the game once in a while. If while having a job you still can't afford do that then the game is the least of your concerns.

For those who don't have a job AND don't have that much time to put in the game. If the game itself is fun enough then time will fly-by and you wont worry too much about how long it takes to unlock stuff.
