First thing you need to do is list a budget. How much $ do you have to work with.
As for you old PC chances are some other hardware was damaged when the gpu crapped out. Hardware usually wont just blow up for no reason.
Which R7 200 series model do you have? And what was your GPU before that which blew?
If your current GPU is a mid-range one, then your CPU will also be bottlenecking it although the performance shouldn't decrease then; it would remain the same.
In either case, your CPU is very old and only dual cored. Your first priority should be to replace it as any good GPU you get will be bottlenecked by the CPU.
dont recall the video card i had prior. i know i went big on that tho. was an nvidia and cost me close to $400 i think.
i guess my budget would be $4-500.
how do i see which current vid card i have? just look in the case?(sorry im not too tech savy)
i was thinking of replacing the processor and i guess getting a SSD to replace my HDD?
i really dont want to replace the whole thing as i can save money by not getting a new case, optical drive, power supply etc.
