Who says this game will take 150-200 hours to finish. The developers? Oh, they might not be a little bit biased would they?

MMORPG should do some real investigative journalism instead of just taking whatever the devs say for the truth.

    This is why #Gamergate exists.

    No it won't.

That 200 hour mark will likely only be hit by the extreme crazy completionists amongst us.

I spent 90 hours on my first playthrough of DA:O and it didn't feel too long for a single second. Basically as long as they don't add hundreds of NPC's speaking huttese it is 100% impossible to be too long.

In other words: Choopa loooppaa chowawawa no dinky!!

An RPG being too long?! Inconceivable!

Well, it it ends up being anything like DA2 then it could be too long, because that game got boring fast.

  • DraemosDraemos Member UncommonPosts: 1,521
    Th answer is obviously "No".

I make up to USD90 an hour working from my home. My story is that I quit working at Walmart to work online and with a little effort I easily bring in around USD40h to USD86h… Someone was good to me by sharing this link with me, so now i am hoping i could help someone else out there by sharing this link…

Can a good book be too long ? Maybe. But visual good game. No. My Skyrim has always been buggish and crashing because of hundreds of mods. But still I go back between other games. I don't even have Christmas without Skyrim singers and beer in some northern taverns.

They could combine 2 things to DA3 5.0. To change it to full mmo and allow personal mods (visual appearance and additional objects in own client). But the mmo thing would need heavy thinking and redesign how to make it better than today's mmo's.

Somebody said Skyrim was empty world, no content. There are many who like that even in mmo's that there is no level xx enemy for every second step. My best game memories are not from fights ( I like it, too) but few moments when I saw visual beauty or hear new nice song for example.

Seriously, how can any game be too long?  What a silly question.  Most are not long enough, especially the newer MMO's  developed by the idiots who think that leveling to max level in one month is ok.

I'll go ahead and parrot the "too long?!?"

I miss those RPGs where you could spend oodles of time playing and exploring. My only real fear, as I've mentioned before, is how much of the game, the 150-200 is actually playable without Day 1 DLC, Pre order DLC, I got my copy at "insert store here" DLC. Future content DLC.

If the game itself is 150 without DLC praise will be sung. Do I expect that this day in age there will be DLC, sure, but a game shouldn't launch with it, and If you are gonna advertise 200 hours of playable story, it should require  * xx hours require DLC purchase *

as always, i have only one good example to give, gw1, just shy of 7k hours,

when you are given something that makes you care about, when there hidden things all over your game, when to explore some ares you needed a full party of 8 and still got your ass handed over to you.

so no, i dont believe in this "too long", its all about how the world was crafted, if they copy&paste like they did with da:2, no one will play 200 hours of the same damm city.

on the other hand, da:o ive clocked over 127 hours (with all the dlc) and it never felt like itsa chore, that is because we kept moving along, going to new places, meeting new people, not listening to varric talk about Bianca the 1000 time.

The important questions are not length of game.  The questions are more like is it the same action garbage that part 2 was?  Can I have my tactical scrolling look back?  Will all the class/race combinations be cool enough for multiple plays? Did they cut corner on design with recycled maps? Did they leave the redesigned darkspawn in which looked like junk along with the Qunari. And one of the most important to me is will those stupid flying spawns be back in waves?  I loved DA;O a lot, I played multiple times as different characters and had fun.  Part 2 I killed that Qunari leader and had finally  had enough of the same maps, same respawns (Which ruined formations) Terrible party, i hated everyone in the game in my party, they were all terribly annoying

So the question is not if its long enough, after the disaster of DA2 it should be, is it good enough?

I think even asking this question shows a fundamental lack of understanding of this kind of games target audience.

One question is how they come up with this number, is it a real measure or just some marketing BS? I rather suspect it is BS, but if it is real that is wonderful. I would never ask for less content and I strongly suspect that for the fans of these games I'm far from alone.

The real question is if the content is any good, and given it is from EA if they are going to try and nickel and dime us to death with DLC and other nonsense that really should have just been in the game or perhaps a expansion.

150 hours is just long enough to make me feel like I didn't waste my money. Anything less than that I'm starting to get pissed.

What you all seem to forget is that DA: I isn't just a RPG with quests, but there are also other things you can do, like conquer certain areas, send out companions to do missions and stuff. They probably added the amount of hours you can spend on this to the total hours you can spend on singleplayer.

I just read an article that said DA:I has 40 endings. I'd prefer it had none. It'd be more enticing for me to play if the games were open-ended like Skyrim. Perhaps it's just a far different experience. I never got much further than the part in the first game where if you didn't rescue the dog in time, you'd never be able to have him as a companion.

Irrevocable choices...that's what life is for, hee. I want my games to give me room for error and a place to return to. "The End" is my least favorite part of a game. I pretty much avoid the ones that shut the doors to the realm behind me.

If I remember correctly, DA:O was 120 hours long according to BioWare. So I'd take these numbers with a sack of salt.

All I know is that I can't freaking wait for this game.  Hopefully it will last me a long time like till EQN comes out but somehow I doubt it.

Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!

Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!

Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!

Every video shown on internet is console played video should say enough.

Crappy UI crappy graphics and every limitation you get when a console game ported to PC.

It also has NOTHING to do anymore with the original game which was superb Dragon age Origin.

It´s copy from elder scroll (open world WTF?)it´s action fast pace combat with super hero powers and moves from hack and slash and action games.

UI looks terible characters looking ugly also character creation is bad.

This game is a money grab which ruined the series FOREVER.

I should never have supported bioware with buying DAO they will never be Elder Scroll:Morrowind or Skyrim(i don't see how they gonne sell 25 million copys like Skyrim did, do you?).

They betrayed the real bioware fans from the Baldurs gate series and DA:O.

And not to mention EA and there DRM game portal Origin no go zone for me.

Hope to build full AMD system RYZEN/VEGA/AM4!!!

You're obviously trolling, but this is false.

All their latest streams have been played on PC and they're released plenty of other PC footage aside from that.

Refer to this thread on their forums.
