i took it as a fluff article from someone wanting to give a random 10 reasons, meaningful or not

when EQ1 and EQ2 offered alernative models - those games offered the same "switch off" feature

EQ1 went as far as customizing off/on flags for race / sex / mounts

While the response is good and fluid, the combat itself is boring as shit.  Everything boils down to nothing more than a rhythm game where you try to push the buttons in the optimal sequence.  Yawn.  Not only that but they continue to "streamline" everything further simplifying the already simplistic combat.

    On topic,

    10) ookay, nice but managing my bags isn't exactly something I look forward to even if it is easier than before

    9) Another grind ala Farm 2.0.  Could have been great, but it's not housing, it's not optional, and it's just another grind.

    8) Complexity was nice.  It isn't just simple to understand, it has become so shallow that there isn't much point to it.

    7) They make new models, and the ability to turn them off is in the top 10 things to look forward to!?

    6) I'm not sure why people would get excited about how orcs look.  While better than before, they are more or less the same.

    5) Are we taking about the squish here?  Because that is little more than a temporary fix to an ongoing problem come about from poor design.  Not only that, look forward to smaller numbers...  ookay.

    4) Great if you are Horde, but if not look forward to being crapped on for another xpack.

    3) Probably the only thing in the list to get excited about, and that doesn't only speak to the quality of this list, but it also speaks plenty about the quality of WoD.

    2) Not sure what makes you think it is a return to classic lore, since when was classic lore about time travel.  While it may have existed it wasn't really a big part of the story.  It is basically a Horde history lesson, interesting for one faction and a pile of crap for the other.

    1) You know the game has gotten bad when the number one thing to look forward to is something that allows you to not play the game.

So...... edgy..... don't look directly into the post, unless you have a soul patch of course.

My girlfriend and I are very much still enjoying World of Warcraft. I have been playing a lot longer than she has but she loves the game. We are both looking forward to Warlords of Draenor! :-)

Thats true, which is why they are giving dungeons the same treatment they have given raids the past few years (adding multiple levels of difficulty ranging from easy to really hard).....though knowing the haters, they are gonna run normal dungeons and complain that "WoW dungeons are faceroll".

Pretty much this.  I was pretty big on Challenge Mode Dungeons and getting the unique armor sets.  We even sold runs for like 100k back in the day -- 500k the last weekend before the patch since demand was so high.  Having that place on "farm" mode was quite lucrative after a while.  Haha.  Tanks could get one shot by single mobs and melee DPS had it rough; a lot of tactics had to be used and gear couldn't compensate for lack of skill, like it could in most raid settings (since it was all scaled down to blues, with bosses and mobs hitting harder than raid bosses -- or at least it seemed in many situations).

Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing).  German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century.  Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now).  I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things).  In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while.  If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.

Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this.  If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own.  Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis.  Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.

I'm not sure that this exp will be as exciting or fun as earlier exp. Half of my guild has quit to Archage or other games.

I will play it for the first months, but if it still a grind fest then I will, probably be off to something else. Maybe back to Arpg, witcher 3 and Farcry 4, and maybe Bethesda will release a new ES game.

The bad thing in this expansion is it  only takes 6 to 12 hours to get from level 90 to 100. Kinda sad that leveling content will be over almost as soon as you get the game in your hands. When you are done leveling you will have to wait awhile before you start raiding. To pay full prise for leveling content which lasts 12 hours is very bad.  Back in wraith it tok you about a week to get to max level. in cata and mist from 24 to 36 hours. and now its half the time of that. Very dissapoting. For the first time I am actually considering not bothering getting a wow expansion. I enjoy leveling characters and getting a rich story.  Guess this short leveling is because of the two zones which wont be ready for launch of WoD.

It can't really be 6-12 hours can it for the price they are charging?

    rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar

Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D

BC - World First Level 70 - 28 hours after launch

WOTLK - World First level 80 - 27 hours after launch

Cata - World First Level 85 - 5 hours after launch

MoP - Work First Level 90 - 5 hours after launch

Honestly, if the content lasts 12-16 hours I'd be seriously surprised. That's not to say that there isn't a lot of content, though, it just means that people have become particularly efficient at levelling. Even if I was powering my toon through the MoP content, I found it difficult to do more than one level every 3-4 hours. Of course, the people who do it in like 5 hours have a VERY highly-tuned strategy that they've developed on PTR, etc. I'm not really interested in spending my time trying to figure out how they do it.

That being said, I didn't really find that WOTLK was that much different for me. It was double the number of levels, but I found that it generally took my 1-2 hours per level in WOTLK.

If you're actually following the quests, reading, and taking your time, there is easily 40 hours in there, I'd say. I think that the rate at which you choose to level is your own decision, but it's obvious that there are options for either case.

Complaining that it only takes 6-12 hours to get to cap, especially in this day and age of the genre is just pointless. Most people blast through the content without even blinking, me on the other hand, I actually enjoy myself and appreciate the enormous work they put into it, I mean isn't that the friggin' point to playing games? Anyway, I'm really excited and optimistic about the expansion, I love the new models(I really do), and am surprised how much positive reception there is on this comments section. Of course there are still negative comments here no matter what they release, but usually here its nothing BUT hate for WoW.

It doesnt take 6-12 hours that was beta leveling. It doesnt take a long time but you wont be able to do it in 6 hours.
