No, for me. WoW stopped being fun for me years ago. I have no desire to ever look at the game again. Ever. What I enjoyed is gone.

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse. - FARGIN_WAR
I was on the WoD hype train right up until I saw the new models. For a game that has to be taking in almost a billion dollars a year in revenue where was the quality control? Come to think of it where was the last year of content?
At this point the difference between FFXIV and WoW is astounding. FFXIV is taking in about a tenth the money WoW is and putting out better content at a faster rate. Granted the combat is terrible but you have to admire how much more SE is doing for their customers than Activision.
At this point I think Activision is just fleecing WoW players to fund all their other projects and only a small fraction of the subscription fee actually goes back into WoW.

Sorry, I just play it because it's very fun. I never stop and compare the graphics too closely. You are very right though, almost all games have better graphics, but if you know the history of WoW then you don't need a refresher on why the quality is the way it is! I'm ok with the way it looks and from the poll others are as well.
edit: Also, I don't care what they are doing with the money they are making, it is none of my concern. I'm paying 50 cents a day for a great game.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.

$50 + $15 4x = $110 USD = $126 CAD = $31.5 monthly for me to play the game for at least the first 4 months. I wish I had your wishful thinking.

I'll agree there was a time when Blizzard put out an unbelievably high quality product but imo those times have long since passed. The combat is still fun but I bring up the new models not because some of them look worse than much newer games but because some of them are noticeably worse than the 10 year old models they were designed to replace. Perhaps it's just nostalgia but I think it speaks to the wider theme that the team working on WoW now does not put out the same quality as the the one working on it 10 years ago.

Sorry, no matter how you do your math, it is still a very cheap form of entertainment. If you really want to get picky, figure in the amount your internet cost, how much wear and tear you are putting on your computer, and the electricity it costs to run your system. You can easily have my type of thinking just by not over thinking!

It's a less than a week before finally the latest expansion arrives, especially after a very long period without new raids. So, it's fair to make an official and proper poll for the community to see where we stand with World of Warcraft today. I expect very low numbers to buy this expansion and that will just show how things are much more different for Blizzard in 2014.
Maeby after this expansion they will step up and show bigger competitiveness to attract the millions of lost subs as well as attract, create new market with better prices/deals, faster and bigger content and so forth.
You think wrong. The question isn't even whether WoD is worth buying or not. The question is wtf else are you going to play right now?
I preordered this crappy expansion the call WoD. then I was slammed with the cheese ball prelaunch stat squish and ability nerf and had a WTF moment. Tried it out ran new quests and UBRS and decided not my cup o tea. After 20+ years of Warcraft and the last 10 in WoW I finally realized that the dream was over.
This game has gone to the crapper like all other Asian flavor of the week games. Lacking in any intelligent design and there just to take money from the idiots who still believe there's hope for this crap.
Hopefully Blizzard will allow refunds at this point. It is a complete fraud of a sale. Over hyped and lacking in content, all for a high price tag and a still high sub cost. BTW anyone ever wonder where the hundreds of millions of dollars from subs has gone? Because its not into development.

OP has been wrong on about everything he has ever wrote about WoW...so I seen no reason he will be right now.
Bought it.
+1. He seems to bash the game a lot and the fact that the game will "not waste his time" because of how expensive it is.
I think he's wasted more time than he would in game, writing about the game itself and how it's going to do "bad".
why all the flaming? let him hate
mmorpg junkie since 1999

This will probably be another Pandaria for me.
Buy the expansion, play for 3-4 months and then quit until the next one.

Of course I am going to. It has the most content and is the most polished game of it's type. High entertainment value for very little money.
edit: This is my opinion!
