Dragon Age : Inquisition is already out in US...and it´s coming out on thursday in EU...
I preordered the game yesterday and i´ve been awaiting for it so bad! But something got me worried....
The game is already getting flamed on Metacritic
Have anyone tried it here yet?
Is it true? Is it that bad? :O

The PC controls are terrible. They reinvented most of the game. It almost seems like they designed this game to be an mmo. It's quests resemble mmo quests and they tacked on a bunch of collectibles. Find x location in x zone. The combat was completely redesigned and doesn't feel like Dragon Age combat at all.
I'm fairly disappointed so far.
I´ll try it for myself tomorrow night when it launches in Europe...
but reading all these reviews is breaking my heart.
Not gonna speak to the game...just that metacritic, is the absolute worse thing to use as any type of reliable way to judge A game on release.
You can rate things from 10 to 0 and most people do that it seems. And no games are really that good or bad.
Until you have a few thousand reviews..you can not average the scores out and get any meaningful info from metacritic.
I dont listen to reviews so just throwing this out there loving every minute so far very big step forward from DA2 , no it's not DAO combat but am liking it so far .
Play it yourself best rpg this year for me .
Its hard to judge an major IP with user reviews. You will have some how are so enamored with the old way. Just look at wow and those that trump Vanilla being the best thing. People will compare sequels to the original and put the original on a higher pedestal than it would if there were no sequels to the game and it will distort their rating.
Also look at some of the low scoring, "The reason I
Metacritic is too extreme without any proper critical reviews. Either far left or far right.
Wow, it must suck if the metacritic reviewers are giving it low scores. Everyone knows that metacritic is apex of video game reviews.
Aside from everyone else stating to ignore metacritic (which I agree with), I will also add that games are pretty subjective, especially RPG systems. Some people will hate certain systems and love others and the only way to make up your own mind is to play it.
If there are any professional and/or independent critics you trust, then wait for them if you really want input before purchase.
I know how internet works... I fairly understand how those reviewers may score...
but what got me worried is the coincidence in their bad reviews... bugs...crashes...bad optimized...bad storytelling...clunky combat...terrible controls... I don´t really mind about the "MMO ish" quest style that they say DAI has ,since i love MMOs
....but is all the rest that got me worried
I'm enjoying it and it's running very smoothly on my PC (i4770K @ 4.2 and AMD 7970) with graphics maxed.
I've seen a 0 at metacritic because the guy didn't have enough HD space and says he now needs to buy a new HD lol... that's metacritic user reviews for you in a nutshell... i.e somewhere south of totally useless.
The graphics are very good - especially the character models and facial animations.
I'm using mouse and KB and the controls feel intuitive. Some of the things people are bitching about (you right click on loot and your character doesn't auto run to grab it for example) are petty and just a matter of them not being 100% like everything else.
Normal setting gives you a good enough challenge - especially in an open world where you can easily wander off into an area where you shouldn't be yet.
Zero crashes or bugs so far... but then I'm only level 7 and it's software so there will be bugs in there somewhere for me to find.
Cinematics on the PC are clamped @ 30 FPS but someone already has a command line tweak that unclamps it if that bothers you.
No regrets here

GLAD to hear your positve experience with the game
I am so awating to play!!!
I guess those minor problems like cinematics at 30fps and so would be solved in future patches and that doesn´t worry me at all.
And as I responded to you in the other thread "no they are not they are perfectly fine". I'm using the mouse and keyboard with no issues at all.
And as far as metacritic, it's getting half glowing reviews and half scathing reviews. Might as well just changed the title of this thread to "Dragon Age Inquistion is getting praised!
If anything is to be criticised, in my opinion, it's the character creator.
So many ways to make odd looking characters. Well, in fairness, the elves. I haven't tired the other races yet.

Metacritic is only for Critic consensus.
The user reviews are getting worse and worse, I think. Giving a game like DA:I a 0? Even if you HATE it it's worth a 7 simply because it brings more to the table than...well, almost any game aver. I'd rate it a 10 for exactly that reason. I mean, it's Skyrim with a story, people. And folks whine about the combat? SKYRIM'S COMBAT! Remember it? What it entails? DA:I is a masterpiece compared to that, and it has room to improve (unlike first-person slash-hacking).
The worst is people giving mmo's a 0 because of launch day issues, or any game a low score because of day 1 bugs. People need to calm the hell down and start being more appreciative of how much work is required to impress people in this medium.
Sure, some deserving games get high user scores, but only often if the game is bound to be largely under-appreciated (aka: Divinity: Orignal Sin, which is a tactically awesome game with a largley throwaway story). Dragon Age just has so much to live up to...ignore the user reviews--it's amazing.
Hell, one guy gave it a 0 because he didn't have room on his hard drive to install it? Just...wow.
Additionally, I think I've seen people complain about frame rate stutters.
I had that too on "Ultra". As I had believed I had an uber rig.
Turned the settings down and it solved that.
I highly suspect people are putting the game on settings higher than their computer can handle. And not admitting it's time to upgrade.
Additionally, there is a new Nvidia driver out as I've seen people complain about the game with Nvidia cards. So maybe that will help whatever their issues are.

Very engaging and extremely well done... this is where the superb facial animations really shine... lips sync and the changes in expressions are subtle but very noticeable.
The story draws you in gradually just like your companions do.

The reviews I've seen are pretty positive. But do try it for yourself and make your own decision.
Yeah, taht's another thing. Someone on metacritic said there were absolutely no facial expressions. So I launched the game and saw disgust on the seeker and wondered "wht the hell are they talking about".
I saw worry and panic on my character's face.
I'll just leave this here for those who need it:

It might get better but it starts off terrible.
A bunch of nobles dressed up in costumes talking in goofy accents. That and half the people in the game worshipping you as a God. Your advisors droning on about every decision.
Esc,esc esc esc, esc ....
I've had the same experience as the above.
I mean, it's the internet. It's Bioware/EA. It would be shocking if the vast majority of user scores on metacritic were positive. Raging about hard drive space and black screens (While the latter is not cool.) is not indicative of the quality of the content.
I wouldn't pay too much attention to metacritic scores from users. There are people in there blaming Bioware for their hardware not being up to spec to play DA3 and giving it 0's because of that. I mean, really?
However, there can be great pieces of information in the user responses that can help you determine if the game is right for you. So far, what I'm seeing is that the game tries to borrow from MMORPGs a bit and predictably disappoints RPG veterans to varying degrees because of that. There are also some control and pathing issues, both of which I'd assume would be smoothed out in the months to come.
What can we say? It's EA doing what EA does: Franchising. Just because it carries the name doesn't mean it is made by the same developers. I'd be willing to bet most of the people who developed DA3 are completely different individuals than those that developed DA1.
Otherwise the game is being looked at positively. You can find some detractors saying that the story isn't as good, but that is kind of subjective anyway. The only time I pay attention to that kind of criticism is if people are saying the story starts to contradict itself in very obvious ways or it is delivered poorly. But the game is good, and I'd be willing to give it a whirl once I muster the will to buy it.
Because it's easier to shoot the messenger than admit the game you love might suck.
Anyway, it crashes a lot for me, the controls are terrible, and frankly, it's no DA:O and never will be.
Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!
Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!
Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!
