1. Its just too hard as a game.
- It took 5 hours to sus out controls and play around to get the ship to work properly with keyboard
- Its too hard to kill anything in a starter ship. I know its a starter ship but any other similar game e.g. jumpgate etc. a new player could still kill low level ships easily enough. I have managed to kill 1 in 3 weeks and I have been trying hard.
- Too hard to navigate universe map. It takes time to load up/laggy and is just too confusing. Need support to plot courses and I would prefer a 2D map.
- I died because I forgot to request docking permission. I then get killed even though I am trying to request docking just inside. I now have a wanted badge as I lost my mission cargo. I pay all my fines but I still get murdered each time I leave the station. I am for rules but it seems overly aggressive and it forced me to stop playing because I forgot to ask for docking?
- Hard to find items to purchase and services. I love realism but it kinda sucks that I have to go online and check out wiki to find out where to buy ships/weapons etc. Games need to ease players in and I would have liked to see some starting hubs with a few ships to purchase.
The game has a lot going for it and I am a big EVE, Elite, Jumpgate, Freelancer etc fan. I have been persevering with Elite probably more than I should and its a struggle. Overall it feels too hard to get around, buy anything, read map, fight, mine and basically do anything.
My performance is an issue to but I figure its because I live in Australia and our halfwit prime minister thinks copper cable is futuristic...total tool
Anyone else feel the same way as I do or am I out in the cold on this one? I am trying to so hard to like this game but its pushing me away and I am losing hope...

I agree and I am one of the first players to leave a game if I think its too easy or has light penalties for dying but for ED it seems its more of an obstacle than having to use your brain power.
I am just hoping they do enough before launch especially around the universe map which I think is under worked for such a key function in a game like this. I remember having the universe map out for EVE and Jumpgate and literally studying it.
Here's hoping anyway
These are pretty common complaints for people who haven't played the game since Alpha. I fear if Frontier doesn't have great tutorials come release, most people picking it up will give up on it before getting to the point where they can play it.
