Does ESO deserve a second chance? Video

Gyva02Gyva02 Member RarePosts: 499

After the Archeage disaster I've decided to give this one a go again. Looks like the devs here are actually trying to make things better for the players and actually listening to the player base. This video might help those of you that quit to give this game a second chance. He does a good job at telling and showing us what they are planning to do with this game. For now I've re-subbed and giving it a go...

Will questing still be liner from left to right of top to bottom across each zone ?

ESO has really nice graphics, aesthetically, i can't really fault it, but, its the game play itself that lets it down for me, i hope they keep on working at it though, as its possible that the game might eventually be worth a second chance, just not yet, but i am hoping they keep at it, it really can only get better. I just wish they would improve the magic system in the game, as that for me is one of the games worst features.image

I like ESO and it's improved over the last months but they should remove VR grind and fast because imo this is one of the main reasons why people leave. Fixing group finder wouldn't hurt either.

Im a big ES fan but not an ESO fan. The design of the game is for me completely wrong. Its a beautiful game, but as with old girlfriends, the love is over.

I wish them GL and really hope they will continue to make it better for those who like it, but for me there will not be a return.

You are aware, I hope, that if you didn't like the questing style here there are popular mobs that do things like removing the quest markers.  And the game has enough internal clues - it's actually very well designed - to let you find things and progress without any hand-holding at all.  Disable your skyshard and lorebook addons and *find* them.  *Find* the quest-givers.  *Find* the people they want you to talk to or the things that you need to do.  It's the closest you can get in a modern MMO to the feel of EQ1 questing without handholding.

*Of course* you can always reducing questing in MMOs to known checklists with addons and internet cheat sheets. But this game does not have to be played that way.  At all.

As an example of what I'm talking about:

Good video, he talked about the main things I had an issue with. Looks like things are improving a lot.

    +1

They should also add player created quests.

I did give it a second chance and lasted only for couple of weeks. Broken LFG and veteran grind is why i discontinued my subscription.

I would advise anyone who did not stick with the game in the first place to not play for at least a year after launch. At least, the two year point might be best for you.

I would just save my money instead of playing Eso,

    will buy Dragon Age Inquisitions.

Played it for 3 months then get Witcher 3.

Pardon my English as it is not my 1st language :)

All the stuff they have announced sounds nice and dandy. I would strongly recommend waiting until it is actually implemented though.

Something comparatively simple like the vet xp change in 1.5.x was a complete screw up, just imagine how well completely changed or entirely new game systems will work initially.

In a year or so the lfg tool might just be fixed too...

This was the biggest disappointment in the MMORPG world in a very long time (maybe ever?)- I love the ES franchise and have played every ES game since Daggerfall (even revisited Arena) and while some were far better than others, they all had merits ... Except this abomination imho.

I think its unfixable. I think I certainly dont trust the devs to implement any real changes and fixes that will fix this game in a meaningful way. Even as a F2P , I wouldnt be playing and honestly thats really sad considering my love for the ES World.

The game is actually beautyful and looks incredible for an mmorpg. Butit ends there. I bought one ofthe $10 copies before Wal-Mart discontinued selling the game and I wasnt impressed at all and felt my $10 was wasted. A cup or two of Starbucks overpriced coffee would have been a better investment.

It pains me to say this but this ca$h grab of a game will never see another dime from me regardless of their promises. I went from being happy as he;ll that there was an ES game being made online, with a sub (no F2P garbage to wade through, paywalls and p2w) to watching the entire thing turn intoone of the worst mmo failures I have ever seen (based on the anticipation and hype)

    Oh well =/

Well after thinking it wouldn't last long after trying it during beta I decided to give it a go now that it's been out about 6 months. And, well I'm enjoying myself.  The story's are interesting and more interactive than normal quests imo.  But, the best part honestly is the community and I think that will be enough to carry this game until it gets the features it needs (such a proper LFG).
