[Column] Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft: Overwhelmed, Yet Excited for Goblins vs. Gnomes

Will I be able to adapt once Blizzard launches Goblins vs. Gnomes next week? I’m not sure. I’ve already felt overwhelmed by all the new Hearthstone cards that have been steadily revealed since the expansion was announced at BlizzCon, but I also can’t help but be excited for all the new possibilities.

I am disappointed with this expansion, from what I've seen.  Too much RNG...never been a fan of goblins or gnomes...meh

Hearthstone is kind of a weird game.    It kind of looks like blizzard is trying to create a product intended for viewing more than playing.  For a game intended to captivate the player they have made terrible design choices, but as a product designed to get viewers to watch it is fairly entertaining, and the GvG expansion just pushes the game more in that direction with all of the ridiculous OP cards that will be added.

As someone whose been forced into playing Paladin as a main because its what I have had the best cards for, I don't see the new set really fixing the fact the Paladins are not in a good place right now.  Might be time to switch to a different class.

What do you feel they need to be better?

Looking forward to seeing how these new cards change the game.

    Really looking forward to it.

The whole PvE stuff with Naxx wasnt my cup of tea. Just give the players more cards  every year and Im fine.

As one person noted, they have done it seems to be a better game to watch than play however that is not really the design but the drama most streamers create or have inside of their streams.

These new cards seem to be aiming at mech but not enough to aid current THEMES which is what the game sorely lacks.

Something MANY have missed is that Hunter and Zoo are the two main rush decks but not because of the cards as many have thought and cried foul asking for nerfs. The reason is that Hunter gets a 2dmg to face hero power and Warlock has the best hero power in game with the card draw.To anyone that has played mtg in the past, they understand how powerful and important card draw is,that hero power is the first and ONLY idea that should have been nerfed.

I would have nerfed the Warlock hero power to 1hp+ per use,so if used in subsequent turns it would be 1/2/3/4/5.The Warlock hero power will be o/p powerful once more and more  healing mechanics are added and trust me there will be lots more.

As to the PLD guy i would try and utilize that weapon that buffs +1.IMO the ONLY thing that differentiates classes is the hero power and most would agree that PLD has the weakest although i am not a big fan of Shamans either.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
