Blizzard has introduced Personal Loot for raiding and dungeons in their last two expansions. Personal Loot is essentially no competition for items (no NBG). Each character has their own personal loot table per boss fight. You have a chance to gain gold or an item.
I think Personal Loot is an interesting concept to evenly distribute gear to the raid. It does solve the problem of a DKP system. It gives each player an equal chance to drop an item for them. However, one could argue that the DKP system is an incentive program to show up for raids.
Does Personal Loot take away from the community of raiding? Does it down play the player to "earn" an item?
These are all interesting questions to ponder. I do like the idea of personal loot. For me personally it can hinder the player to "earn" an item as well. But I do like the fact of even distribution as well.
So what do you think? Is Personal Loot the way of the future for grouping/raiding content? If you vote 'maybe' please comment below and let us know how you would tweak it?

Nice , it make MMO become more singleplayer , people love it and it sell well .
So it a solution to turn MMO game closer to singleplayer game .
not ready bad ,
All MMO with instances contents should have Personal loot .
lol , it not like there are any new MMO with only open world contents
I like it so far!
Competition for loot was the last reason I raided, I wanted loot sure, but the competition part was just an unnecessary hassle for me.
We all did a good job, we all deserve equal rewards.
I like it.
My opinion would be different, however, if raids took less than 1 hour. I have a wife and kids. I rarely get a full 1-2 hours of uninterrupted gaming. I don't think I've ever been in a raid where we didn't have to deal with someone running into performance issues / players going AFK for potty / snacks etc. Everything takes forever...
Moreover, what's the point of raiding the same boss over and over and over and over and over again for DKP? That's more redundant and mind-numbing than Battleground-grinding the same maps over and over.
Yeh, i like it.
No loot drama in single player game. Same loot drop system in D3, and Marvel Heroes.
I think it is worthwhile to limit player interactions when such interactions caused problems, and are not desirable for many (not unlike forced pvp).
I think it's great if your only doing the content for the gear.
If your playing the content for fun then it's not an issue as you'll probably be repeating the same content over and over anyway.
It is if there is loot drama. That degrades fun for everyone (unless you like loot drama).
I think it is a great thing and surprised that it took them so long to implement in WoW. Now each and every player is recognised for their collaborative work in completing the dungeon/raid.
With personal loot and it being random there is really no one to blame for not getting the drop you want except the loot system, so people just accept it.
If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.

Kyleran: "Now there's the real trick, learning to accept and enjoy a game for what it offers rather than pass on what might be a great playing experience because it lacks a few features you prefer."
John Henry Newman: "A man would do nothing if he waited until he could do it so well that no one could find fault."

LacedOpium: "So the question that begs to be asked is, if you are not interested in the game mechanics that define the MMORPG genre, then why are you playing an MMORPG?"
Yeah, it sucks when you do a dungeon and don't get anything but it is so much better than doing a dungeon and having something drop then stolen.
All theme park MMOs should adopt this loot system.
I remember it taking four months to get Rag down in vanilla WoW's 40-man raid. And then he dropped loot for only a couple of people. It was a big deal back then to be a raider and wearing that gear meant you had put in the time and effort to make it happen.
Today's mmo gamer doesn't seem to be as interested in the teamwork and hard, slogging grind to get a boss down and wait your turn for RNG to favor you. So as a method to still have RNG in the mix but be able to satisfy the "Now! Now! Now!" gamer, I think this works.
You do realize this is literally almost no different from need greed right? Only a couple people will get loot after a kill with personal loot. The most i've seen get loot in a 40 man raid(world boss) was 4 people. In 25's, most i've seen is 2-3 get loot.
If you're doing guild runs or running with a regular group. DKP doesn't work for PUG's and LFR groups though.
Plus, it does not solve the problem of guildie just ninja stuff and begone. Rolling one's own loot solve it much better. There is no longer any possibility of loot interactions.
Another vote for yes,DKP like most things big guild related only serves guild drama and to divide even more the community.
I'd much rather be pissed off at RNG and luck than a ninja!
I feel like drops should make sense in an immersive gaming world, which means "No" for me.
It makes it easy to get gear, though and is also already implemented in ESO (which I'm playing) and other games so it's not a new thing.
Still, I prefer loot make sense and honestly it pretty much never does/never has... lol.
Why? Is it so hard to believe that a spider has a 2-HD sword in its backpack?
And yes, personal loot is a much better system.
