What need the most is a Expansion, what ever that come with, who knows as I have some problem with the game at endgame how it ending up.
  • ThebeastttThebeasttt Member RarePosts: 1,130

For the audience they are going for this game really only needs one thing.

    Purpose

  • mazutmazut Member UncommonPosts: 988
Expansion indeed is the part that is missing. Living story is neat, but is not giving us enough to chew...
  • alf2oooalf2ooo Member UncommonPosts: 139
    Guild versus guild.
  • a dedicated open pvp server?

    guild wars?

    territory control and political warfare?

less living story that nobody cares?

    more classes?

more specializations like dedicated healers, tankers?

there is a lot that can be done to make this game less boring and redundant, but i guess is too much work to anet.

for me at the moment, the game stay unistalled.

an expansion pack would be cool.

    my top MMOs: UO,DAOC,WoW,GW2

most of my posts are just my opinions they are not facts,it is the same for you too.

One of the best changes they made to living story compared to personal story was the removal of the horrible marionette shows. I love that almost all dialogue is now done in-game. The minus side is that our characters now have no voiceovers anymore, but I can sort of understand that with having to cast 10 people for the same lines.

Overall I'm pretty pleased with how the story is presented in LS2 versus personal story (and god forbid, LS1).

Excited to see what the finale of LS2 brings along. Also hoping for an expansion announcement for 2015-2016.

I think whatever is coming in 2015 it's too late for me. 2 years of downhill road with boastfull promises is too much for me. I'm at the point that if Anet would close all servers, I wouldn't care anymore, as long as Colin and Mike won't touch GW1.

But if they would go FFXIV Realm Reborn road and shout down game to reopen it and actually deliver promises that made me purchase it in the first place, I would reconsider my attitude :P

If you want open world PvP, I don't know why you'd be playing GW2, which is based on cooperation.  If you see someone dead nearby, you rush over to res them.  If you see a player in trouble, you automatically help them - you'll get a "ty," not an "omg you stole my kill, report" response.

Let's have a proper expansion; if the engine is the same as for GW1, surely it can't be too difficult to bring in Elona and Cantha, preferably with the same geography, slightly more weathered.  Ritualists, Paragons, the long-awaited Guild Halls, which could be identical to the GW1 versions... there is a lot of potential to keep the Guild Wars franchise running for a long, long time.

Really tempted to buy GW2 cause I've been pretty bored recently, is it worth it or not? I'm hearing a lot of mixed opinions on it.

If You want "single player game expirience" (buy the box, finish game, uninstall, forget) - it's one of the best games around. It really is.

But if You want to invest Your precious time in "MMO expirience" avoid it like a plague.

And one more thing - do not watch or read anything official about GW2. They are highlighting unfolfilled promises. Read forums - this game have some sweet features (costumisation!) that are unspoken, where some shitty (in my opinion) and underdelivered bling blings are on foreground (Living Story/World, PvP, WvW).

Problem with open world PVP is it encourages greifing and i rather not have to murder hundreds of little kids daily on my thief, i will keep that in WVW thank you.

Buy it. It's worth the cost. You'll get more than your money's worth. The issues people have come later.

Despite it's innovations GW2 seems so soulless compared to the original. The living story, as I remember it a year ago, is poorly conceived replete with 2 dimensional characters supported by weak lore.

I also miss the 'build' concept of the original game. GW2 touted over and over how removing class rolls would revolutionize the genre but all it really did was ensure that everyone was just a different form of DPS. Most instanced combat involves everyone doing there on thing. In fact most dungeon runs revolved around hiding in some corner line of siting targets down.

GW2 is about conveniences which ultimately reducing the ancient mysterious Tryia of GW1 to a Saturday morning cartoon.

    dont listen to this guy

gw2 is not single player game if you play it like that you are missing alot of stuff

Umm what about making the game so that appeals to actual MMO players on average? Instead of kids and college somethings with the attention span of a mayfly give or take. Because right now all it is a glass cannon zergfest, with a added on Sims game at max level.

That's what happens when you don't have things called roles. No dedicated tank or healer, so the name of the game is, you play dress up, dailies or zerg your damn brains out. The thing is if you are going to have a game with no roles, you need outstanding PVP.

Arena Net failed in their quest to make this an esport because their class balance is a roll on the floor laugher. Not even to mention how the combat itself is an issue.

Set roles and a new expansion could work wonders for this game. Assuming the expansion added content and wasn't just more story to play. 10 man raids, more dungeons, real optional quest, even more world bosses to zerg and events.

What exactly are you missing out on? Living story is completely solo. Dungeons you can get a group for easy through random match making (not that they are worth doing anyway). Jumping puzzles solo, random events solo it's all random players. World Bosses zerg fest solo.

It's a solo game. That simple.

Unless you want to take PVP seriously, you will want a group for that, but who wants to take GW2's PVP seriously? Better offerings.

Actually out of dunegons you are not missing anything. There is not even a need to group. It is very solo friendly game but at the same time like every typical MMO offer group content too.

So yeah people can play it as a single player MMO. Nothing wrong with that. options are good.

This game was NOT DESIGNED for open world PvP so don't ask for it. It will never happen.

Open world PvP just draws people who like it and not other types of players.

Endgame is the problem.  Nothing to do for such a beautiful game.

WvW will get going during primetime hours for T1 servers (NA) but doing this daily gets boring.  Matchups WvW wise never change.  WvW is slowly dieing.  Tourneys bring back a lot of players and WvW is very fun then but once tourney is over, people leave WvW.  A lot leave the game!  <<<  I am guilty of this.  Sorry, large scale competition, bragging rights and a descent reward are what drives me.  Realm pride means more to me when my realm wins a tourney.

Endgame PvE is laughable at best.  Not much to do.  SERIOUSLY.  Champ trains are the norm which is a grind for Legendary weapons pretty much and currency.  Dungeons are 5-man only.  Nothing new in them.  Burn out quick from them.  Fractals are so boring once you go through each part once.  A lot of repeat in PvE.  After 2 years of what, only a fractal level increase for 5 man content?  No thank you!

Living story was cool but I lost interest after S1.  Tequatl rising is the best release by far.  Was an epic battle to take the dragon down and I was lucky enough to see her go down first that night long ago on BLACKGATE server.  Completely EPIC and will remember that for the rest of my life.  Dragonbash was another cool one.  Toxic ones were cool too.

Crafting system I feel is very nice with all the ascended recipes now but, once your main is full ascended there is nothing left to do(im not an alt-aholic)

PvP I rarely play.  Small scale does not interest me.  Put a 40v40 in.  LOL, more large scale! I can see epic GvG's in this format.

Nothing against the achievement system.  Seems pretty solid.

    My wishes are

More Living Stories that players will remember.

More perma PvE like the huge map I see with all the blurred areas need opened up!  w/ Expan

More 5 man dungeons with difficulty modes.  w/ Expan

RAIDS using the squad party system, capped of course...  w/ Expan

WvW that is a constant touney.  Rewards handed out every 4 to 8 weeks along with a tourney reset.

PvP throw in a large scale map like a 40v40 or bigger.  Go big or go home.  w/ Expan

Player Housing pretty please!  w/ Expan

A lot of my wishes will need an expansion so yes, GW2 needs an expansion.
