Am I the only person who loves MMOs and isn't currently playing one?

Love MMOs, been playing since SWG pre-NGE, but since ESO I haven't found anything worthy time and none of the current games on the market appeal to me.

To the people who respond that aren't currently playing an MMO. What games are you looking forward to?

I play Wizard101 every now and again. I may pop into a "special" EQ server maybe once or twice every 1 or 2 months for a few hours at a time. Other than that, no MMOs for me. Nothing in the near future interests me, either.

An MMO is not the same without the "RPG" part for me, which most companies are steering away from, now. There is that Jane Austin one, supposedly high on the "RP" part, but I have no interest in anything Jane Austin.

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

Mmos have lost their spark. Now its all about who can make the most repetitive quests to quickly lvl to the top instead of making every few lvls meaning something or trying to be creative with quests. I have moved to the servival world and cant wait for life is feudal gets closer to release... probably end of next year if lucky lol

I love MMOs but I'm not looking forward to any particular one.  I've become jaded by time after time seeing a vague concept that I like get developed in a specific direction that makes me dislike it. :/  More motive to work on my own MMO design I guess, but game development as a hobby really can't compare to actually playing a great game.
I want to help design and develop a PvE-focused, solo-friendly, sandpark MMO which combines crafting, monster hunting, and story.  So PM me if you are starting one.

i am opposite to you. I do not love MMOs (they are just some online games to me) but i do play Marvel Heroes. Very fun MMO that can be enjoyed as a single player game.

There are probably VERY few people on these boards that were playing rpg's before me  yet i am not playing one right now because nothing is worth my time investment.I think it is quite the proof that seeing so many gamer's complain of grindy games that they don't like their games either because they want them to be over with as fast as possible.

There is not a single rpg i have much faith in,so the only game i am looking forward to is a game i been playing for 15 years Unreal Tournament.Epic games is making a modernized version of the greatest pvp game ever, and that is the only game i see on the horizon that i will like.

I guess if Quake ever comes out with another new game,i will like that as well but rpg's not many good producers or developers right now.

Personally i would love to see SOE get their Naughty Dog productions team to make a MMORPG,i think they could do a much better job than anything Everquest has brought us.The Naughty Dog team btw created the Sega cartridge rpg  when it was just a few young lads who made Rings of Power a very different/unique rpg way way back 23+ years ago in 1991.That is what we need some creative thinking minds.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Me.  I've been playing SMITE, the 3D MOBA for two years at a semi competitive level.... but I actually despise it.  Don't get me wrong, I love the game and I love mythology, I just despise that this is my "gaming life" now.

I've never liked the themepark style of MMO, yet I've tried nearly every single one that has come out.  I'm tired of MMOs that challenge that model shoving out half-assed pay-to-test alphas that lack content or polish or enjoyment and never reaching the promised land of, uhh... What they promised you for your support?

I didn't realize it as a child and damn do I wish I could go back to the golden days now, but my favorite MMO of all time in retrospect was definitely Dransik, which became Ashen Empires.  Before any of the expansions, before the tanking population due to it's age, this game was fun, and it was that elusive sandbox where both PvP'ers and PvE players could mingle.  Maybe it was because there was fewer options so the PvE crowd had little else to choose from, or maybe it was a different time and a different crowd when the social aspect of the online game still existed... No matter the reason, I still come to these forums every couple days, half drunk and longing for heartache, waiting for the announcement of that one sandbox MMO that can rehash all those old feelings.

    You are not alone OP.

I played WoD when it came out. It had some nice additions. But I quit after getting to lvl 100 and geared up.

But it's ok. There are some great games out there. It's just a shame that no one of them is an MMORPG :)

Prob the only ones I am looking forward to this year are The repopulation and H1Z1 as they are the types of games I enjoy these days.

Same here. Since i stopped playing eve online because i lacked the serious amount of time the game needs tto be played properly i am on the lookout for a decent MMO.

I tried them all and nothing could keep my interest. My last big hope was archeage but it could not keep my interest either.

I do play lobby - progress games like War Thunder and Star conflict and atm i play elite dangerous.

What i am really looking forward to is a nice MMORPG i can invest my time into again though. I am hoping for the repopulation but it is far from release and while i could play i hate progress wipes. It is kinda similar to SWG pre-CU wich is why i think it could be my game. Also waitong on novus aetherno release wich i backed on KS.

Trove and Marvel Heroes is all I really play. Out of both? I play Marvel Heroes the most. It's a very fun game and fits perfect with me since I hated Diablo 3 and love Marvel.  But I need something more fantasy. I played World Of Warcraft since BC and that always seemed to scratch the itch. Even through Cata I made it.

Ever since MoP dropped and I just lost the spark. I stayed for friends but they quit before WoD launch. I liked WoD and questing certainly captured the original WoW magic. But life at 100 was not fun, Garrisons killed the game for me in multiple ways.

Went back to ESO, trying LOTRO. Which ever captures the spark, I am sticking with.

But I can say with certainty I am not looking forward to any MMOs in 2015. Even the one I was mildly interested in, I forgot the name of - hopefully I get in the Beta. Must have left a great impression right? Just looked it up it's called SkyForge. But I am not expecting much.

I hope one day their will be a good mmo.i bought WOW dreanor and play a view hours then I am bored only to play again in a view days-I am waisting my money on developers making average old games.

    waiting for bloodborne!

the only reason they make mmos its a huge cash cow.

instead they should make great games that you can play with one or two friends.

    /raise hand

Not waiting for any particular game but rather for F2P and cash shops to go away - which will likely never happen so I think I'm done with MMOs.

People that like good games? Bayonetta 2, Mario Kart 8, smash bros, fatal frame and Toad Treasure are far better than any MOBA/MMO released in the past 3 years.

Not playing anything as well right now, due to:

    1. No time to play

    2. No time to play the MMOs I really enjoy "EVE Online, Darkfall Unholy Wars, Tibia - in some ways"

    3. Not really feel for any particular game, honestly. They are all MEH

I do end my studies summer 2015 and have high hopes for Star Citizen. Not hyping too much, just hoping that the game will bring me back to gaming. Otherwise, I'll just move on with life and spend more time with music and other stuff that I do find more "worth" the time.

My biggest problem with most MMOs out there as well. Right now enjoying Phantasy Star online 2, which is not so much a real MMO but more a HUB game. But at least that game doesn't have the 'rush to cap' so much. Only problem there is the lack of different missions. Good thing the (re used) areas do change from entry to entry...

I've not played anything since I quit AA. EVE is usually my go-to game to pick back up when I'm not playing anything else but I just decided to not do that. I'm playing my entire steam catalog to completion instead, and I've got The Secret World in there so i'll be getting back into that.

I'm just sick of hotbar combat, sick of simplistic AI and aggro table threat managment, sick of copy paste questing (ESO was the recent exception) just generally sick of all the little pieces of games where mmo devs feel like they can devote the bare minimum of resources. If devs want to actually put time and money into the aspects of their games that are the same now as they were ten years ago,  I may be able to pick up an mmo and feel like it's fresh and new. As it is now, I've played this game again and again, I don't feel like playing it one more time.

Indeed indeededly i am always looking for new mmorpgs but it seems there are no good ones, i don't care about AI or PvE  or quests or whatever, its about player interaction for me only, all i want is aim based combat without many AoE skills and open world PvP or maybe with large PvP zones for roaming the lands. So far no luck, but i am sure someday an game gets aim based combat right and then the search is over, so its just an case of patience daniel-san over here.
