I'd be surprised if we had both hype for more GW2 content and Blade and Soul's North American launch in the same year. NCSoft West tends to do one big ticket item at a time. Don't forget Wildstar is theirs as well. They may have to focus their marketing resources on that title to keep it afloat.

I think 2015 will be a year in which we long for projects we already know about, in development, like Camelot Unchained (for me at least) and EQ Next. I don't think we'll see a huge launch this year.

GW2 needs something, the status quo ain't cutting it. I am with you, this whole trinity-less MMO experiment has failed, the game needs a true healing class among other things. How about more incentives for defending but less aoe damage from arrow carts?

I guess I'm the only one excited for FFIV's Triple Triad, oh and the other stuff its releasing too I guess. . .

ESO and SWTOR's updates mostly, with TSW and Neverwinter following a bit behind them.

When it comes to new MMOs, then probably Black Desert and The Repopulation if those are actually coming in '15.

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

Project: Gorgon is the only MMO I'm playing at the moment. Probably too indie/niche to be mainstream but the unique aspects of it have me enjoying it more than I have any other MMO with the exception of Asheron's Call.

Uff, seeing this list I'm actually quite depressed about 2015 mmo-wise. There's absolutely nothing I want to play in the list. Maybe Everquest Next... but something tells me it won't be out before 2016.

Thankfully, 2015 will be a good year for the RPG -without the mmo part-, which makes up for it.

My opinion is my own. I respect all other opinions and views equally, but keep in mind that my opinion will always be the best for me. That's why it's my opinion.

Considering they said at the last SOE Live that EQN was about 60% complete I am not sure if it would be shallow or not.. Early Access is coming this year for sure though.

The rumor mill keeps spinning about ESO going f2p or b2p we will see.

I would prefer buy to play no cash shops

    ***My payment model hierarchy***

-begging of 2015 until the new game devs aka (accountants) come up with another one ....

F2P with cosmetic shop  >=  Buy to play with no cash shops > Buy to play no cash shops but dlc > Buy to play cosmetic shops > F2P with microtrans > Buy to play with microtrans > P2P sub fee > buy to play with sub fee > pay to win > p2p with sub fee with microtrans of any kind

B2P no cash shops? I presume that means no DLC either since you listed DLC as another option. So how exactly do they make money once the box sales slow down? Though I can't imagine anyone would play too long term with no new content lol.

An expansion every year would do the trick I think.. Something that GW2 should have done instead of them letting it stagnate.

How mmo ending up going this pass year, some become better then hit rock bottom again, just let see for this year.

GW2 have not showed me that is going get better and better just in a stand still.

Skyforge may try it, but will not put any more time on to it or my penny in to it, after how allod teams like to do thing very shady.

  • greatskysgreatskys Member UncommonPosts: 451

Hard to know what will get a release in 2015 . Repopulation sounds interesting .

Skyforge is a joke where the devs talk about solo instances.

EQNext will probably be on this list next year.

I'm excited to see what will happen with The Repopulation, Star Citizen, EQNext and hope something awesome will come out of left field but really I'm looking forward to RPGs like Withcer 3 and sandbox games like Space Engineers, MineCraft, 7 Days to Die, From the Depths etc more than MMORPGs.

Couldn't agree more however GW2 just needs to get it together period. Now they are coming out with yet another talk about upcoming expectations, I've gotta say I'll believe it when I see it, not going to hold my breath. Oh and GW2 is produced by NCsoft as well which is a subsidiary now of Nexon, a whole other reason to boycott.

I've seen these "games to watch in 201X"-lists every year -only to watch the same games go circle the drain 2-3 years after. There are barely any games worth watching anymore since the industry took a turn from "gamers making games for gamers" to "suits trying to make money at all costs".

Sadly, the community in general supports fraudulent schemes like they come from Trion, Funcom, most asian studios, but also from some of the big names. Hence my prediction: players will be getting just what they deserve in 2015.

    Who likes babysitting anyway?

Chicks. Well, not I, but nurturing mother types who get dragged into games so they can be considered "cool girls" by their boyfriends. That movie was fantastic!

Oyoy when's tree of savior out, 2015? DFO is 2015 for sure, some others, ESO's patch I'm definitely lookin forward too.

  • WhySoSeriousWhySoSerious Member UncommonPosts: 156

Camelot Unchained - looking forward to it, hope it can bring back that DAOC feeling, but with updated gameplay and graphics. Doubt it will launch in 2015 tho.

MapleStory 2 - I'm digging its style. Looks like it could be a lot of fun... if they don't ruin it with a P2W cash shop. Will definitely be out in 2015. Probably in the first half of it.

EQ: Next -  Has some interesting ideas. 2015 launch? I have no clue.

I wouldn't say that, sure this list shows the fails of past and present.... My money is on Citadel of Sorcery still.

I agree though This is just a rehash of left overs and upcoming clones. Only two games are keeping my interest and  they are Star Citizen and Citadel of Sorcery.

Played: UO, LotR, WoW, SWG, DDO, AoC, EVE, Warhammer, TF2, EQ2, SWTOR, TSW, CSS, KF, L4D, AoW, WoT

Playing: The Secret World until Citadel of Sorcery goes into Alpha testing.

Tired of: Linear quest games, dailies, and dumbed down games

    Anticipating:Citadel of Sorcery

They did say something about transferring characters (or is it whole accounts?) to the PS4 when it launches... tempting...

I'm on a PC/MMO hiatus since update 5 since Zenimax wasn't able to fix my combat stuttering issue on my gaming laptop despite 4 weeks of extensive testing. With that said, it forced me to focus on a console for the first time in 10 years. Playing Dragon Age Inquisition on the PS4 on a 70" screen with surround sound..I only wonder why I waited this long to try. Maybe because Dragon Age is the first game on the PS4 to interest me. I LOVE IT. With that said, since I have so much remodeling to do in my home, I'm in zero rush to purchase a high end gaming PC just to play ESO. Depending on the timing, I may come back when it moves to consoles because I now have new faith in them. The graphics on the PS4 for Dragon Age are excellent.

When the Nvidia cards are more capable of running 4K and the 4K gsync monitors come down in price..that will be when I start to think about the new PC. in the meantime, PS4 all the way. By then ESO will be on update 1.8 or something and the game will even more awesome.

You say ESO is stuttering on your "gaming" laptop?

What kind of laptop do you have?  Do you have problems running other games on it?  I'm running ESO on a crappy HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC with stock graphics card and I don't get those issues.  In fact, it runs better than my desktop.  I suspect it's because ESO was designed to be run by 5 year old run-of-the-mill machines in mind.  You can pick one up for 400 bucks right now.  But if I needed an upgrade on an existing laptop, I would do like you are saying and just pony up for a PS4, honestly.

My biggest gripe with your list......

-->.  GW2, Skyforge, blade and soul, Eq next...   All have no trinnity..

FF14, is just to slow paced for my taste ....

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

  • Loke666Loke666 Member EpicPosts: 21,441

A far more interesting list then Robs but still are most games released or like EQN something unlikely to release this year.

2015 probably wont be a big MMO year.

  • erictlewiserictlewis Member UncommonPosts: 3,022

I am not looking forward for eq next,  sorry but the lion king/tony the tiger look for kera, the pouty humans, the huge shoulder pieces, the artwork looked like something from disney.  Quite frankly it will not be installed on my computer.  Not to mention all the supper action of it all,  as in you will need a top notch cpu/gpu to run it without it lagging you to death.  I think someblower is going out on a limb.

The rest of the games on that list meh.

  • caveogre72caveogre72 Member UncommonPosts: 30

Not seeing anything new with features i want.  would LOVE to see a game with the "trinity" set up with a great setting and TSW style character skills, I was really hoping TSW would change how the market made new games, I loved how you could change your character as needed and keep 1 character ( and keep contacts/friends) and do anything and everything. I even enoyed the slow clunky movement and combat, except they OP'd a few skills so everyone used them.  I just absolutely hate Funcom for the way they treated players in that game.

I don't understand how EQN is making all of these 2015 lists, yet Camelot Unchained isn't.  CU has about as remote a chance of releasing in 2015 as EQN, which is next to none... yet EQN makes all of these lists.

There will be a cash shop.  They have just not turned it on yet, for the public.

Boy: Why can't I talk to Him?
Mom: We don't talk to Priests.
As if it could exist, without being payed for.
F2P means you get what you paid for. Pay nothing, get nothing.
    Even telemarketers wouldn't think that.
It costs money to play.  Therefore P2W.
