DF:UW does not have fanboys everyone stopped playing a few weeks after release as it was so bad haha.. nah only kidding I am sure a few still play its but its nothing compared to the first Darkfall.
really? that's the kind of comeback you give to proof that you're totally out of touch with reality?
take your lumps and don't bring up shit i was never talking about in the first place.
clue: i stated YOU were WRONG (about assertions YOU made, i didn't assert any other shit of my own), and i proved it.
any other side conversation you want to have is with YOURSELF. keep moving them goalposts when you got nothing else to do. keep bringing up your own irrelevant talking points when your assertions are destroyed.
Basically that video helped to confirm the player skill, or lack of, that is needed to pvp in this variation of DF. The pvp in the game is so dumbed down that it poses little to no challenge and is mostly gear and prowess dependant. AV can say all they want that a person is pvp ready at day one but the reality is that a person with 200k prowess will never be able to lose to a person with 20k prowess regardless if the 200k person was a newb and the 20k was a skilled vet. In DFO you could kite around and mana missle a maxxed toon down because player skill and terrain played major roles in the fights. This game is nothing more then a click fest pvp mmo that lacks a lot of sand in the sandbox and still should be considered in beta.
well if you want actual sandbox MMO, there is not really much choice, so I think they are doing fine.
Eve, Life is Feudal, Darkfall, Repopulation - I think that wraps it up in the sandbox MMO department.
Let´s see how H1Z1 and EQ Next will fit in, but they will surely be carebear friendly a.k.a., no real sandbox MMO
There are some options out there but there aren't many good ones. Darkfall is a pvp oriented full loot mmo and there are very few of them out there. However, that is the only reason this game is still up and running it because of its lack of competition. It has nothing to do with the game being a great game or even a mediocre good one. The original Darkfall was many times better then this game on so many levels. The developers of the game simply stopped working on it and began working on Darkfall Unholy Wars. Had they simply continued their work on the original you would have a full loot, pvp, sandbox, mmo with a large playerbase and a well rounded game for the "hardcore pvper" and the "miner and gathering" players. The devs were showing upcoming patches for DF2010 with complete character models revamped, dynamic lighting upgrades, weather upgrades, terrain upgrades etc etc....then suddenly they scrapped the idea and opened up an inferior game to the original. This game has bland character models that all look the same, 1/3 as many skills, boring skilling up system(i.e. killing 1000s of mobs for prowess), completely skewed crafting system, about 75% of the content not in the game at its launch. They still haven't implimented all the content and still are lacking on the balancing of classes that brings player skill into a pvp fight.
The frustration of about 80% of the players that have played this game and have quit comes from the fact that they have completely ruined this game. DFO was far from polished or finished and had numerous bugs and was in need of a lot of fixes....but it was head and shoulders over DF:UW in just about every aspect of the game. That is why many of the people left the game...the devs closed a game that was great for a game that is terrible.
these kind of huge battles have been happening everyday lately
MANY clans involved. like 10-15 clans
you can't argue against reality flamboys.
So I watched your most recent video and you are correct, no one can argue with the fact that even with a small battle such as 20 vs 50 or even 100, you still have people lagging out. In fact, it's stated by several of the people you recorded in the voice channel that they or someone they are fighting is lagging out.
However, in response to that travesty I would like to point out that I do like the animosity offered in this game. I think all open world PvP games should make everyone unknown. No name or guild tags. You have to either wear a guild tabard to be identified or garnered a reputation in the local area. Such as someone being a mass murderer could eventually be recognized as such if you examine them, even from a distance.
Other than that, I'd rather see another Shadowbane as that game was far more interesting. For now, I'll enjoy ESO's version of the RvR system developed by Mythic Entertainments DAoC.
again....trying to have a conversation with yourself. keep moving them goalposts, and bringing up other side tangents.
Its funny, the DF:UW fanbois come to other sites and try to pump up UW as a great game....and then each post after that has people pointing out the facts that the game is dead, and a dud. DFO was 100 times better then DF:UW. AV needs to stop focusing on the "fluff" of the game and focus on the pvp balancing, the fluidness of pvp, the diversity of pvp. Instead each of the classes all look like each other.
In DFO high ground mattered, in DF:UW terrain means nothing. In DFO skill mattered, in DF:UW skill isn't a factor. The game has been dumbed down to a boring mob fest of killing thousands of each type of mob for prowess and the pvp has been simplified to a skill spam rinse and repeat.
It's funny how the game is ranked 6th best on this very website out of hundreds of other MMO's.

you post a video of 20 vs 50 people?
arent you argue'ing with yourself here?
not only is it small scale ffghting.. but thats the whole server @ one place..
you cant even show me 1 vid of unholy wars with more then 100 people on 1 screen..
last siege i did in darkfall 1.0 was close to server shutt down.. and that was a battle of 100vs100 between 2 clans
currently the uw server netcoding is so fcked up you cant have that kinda battles due to epic crashes and lagg, if uw had the population for it
again stop exaggerate things about this game for your own benefits
