With 1.6 being the last update til consoles then I am sure consoles will be the focus after that. Then just top it off with the whole cash shop ( since this is the revenue maker it tends to become the focal point for development )
Do we think we will see anything this year as far as new content?

I just finished reading all the answers provided by the ZOS developers in the most recent reddit AUA, but certain answers really have left me quite puzzled.
Game developer Matt Firor stated that: "1.6 is going to be the last major update before console launch, for obvious reasons." Does that mean they are launching ESO on consoles with Veteran Ranks still in place? This just seems like such a bad idea considering they will be promptly removed once the Champion System is fully integrated within the game (there's only one phase left after 1.6).
Furthermore, Matt Firor stated that "We have other teams already working on DLC and expect to see that start rolling out at some point after console launch settles down." Why in the world would anyone maintain a subscription from now til June if there's no new content being added in that time frame?
Fortunately, you only need to keep your sub until March... but still you are dead on. This is a long time to go without an update.
I am going to keep playing, but I also have a bad feeling about this.
"Here we can observe the MMORPG in its natural habitat. Ah, the MMO has stopped updating! This kills the MMO."
Do most people only play games waiting for the next update? Are people usually not content with the (albeit limited) sandbox offered by the game and its mechanics?
To clarify my thought, people are still playing chess and having fun with it even though the game has never been updated. This is a serious question - no trick or anything.
I mean I like to explore, but once I am done with it I usually do a lot of PvP or WvW in those games, so I suppose I don't mind the lack of "updates" for a while as long as I am happy with the core mechanics of the game I am playing.
I have a feeling we haven't heard everything about the removal of veteran ranks yet and they will go away with 1.6 after all even if it's in 1.6.5 and not 1.6.0.
No, subs between March 17 and the time that the first DLC is sold sometime in late summer/fall make no sense and, depending on the cost of outright buying a DLC and what that DLC gives you, may continue to make no sense until several DLCs are out.
“Microtransactions? In a single player role-playing game? Are you nuts?”
