Marvel Heroes didn't win most improved game for nothing it is an AMAZING game with a unbelievably talented development team behind it and a fantastic community!! And free to play to boot!
Marvel Heroes just keeps getting better. Weekly patches to fix any potential bugs along with weekly events. A new hero every month along with big overhauls to some older heroes with "52 reviews" of which they're almost done with. Also those that got some of the 1st 52 reviews are getting good QoL updates to make sure they're still fun/usable for endgame stuff. They already have one Raid (both Normal and Hard Modes) with another one based on the latest big comic event, AXIS, on the horizon. This past week there has been a special cow event as a throwback to D2, with David Brevik even joining in on the fun last Saturday as the Cow King, and This Friday Winter Soldier will become the 44th hero, and has the voice of Solid Snake (David Hayter). And he's just the 1st of a line up for the year that includes Vision, Iceman, Blade, Dr. Doom, and more.
Very much my thoughts too. I feel for all the people who poured their heart & soul into making those games.... and others that have fallen by the side.
Making a successful game seems ever more like trying to bottle lightning.
Marvel Heroes 2015 has gotten my vote. Great game, amazing community and it has one of the best if not THE best dev teams out there. The launch was pretty bad but the game is so different now, for the better. The future is looking amazingly bright for this game as it keeps getting better and better.
Hands down the only choices for me, though i would have given my first vote to Risen 3 if it had been on the list. It wasn't as fantastic a game as Inquisition was but it was still a TON of fun and a great buy.
Marvel Heroes gets the vote on the other side bar none. WoW is a shadow of itself, GW2 and Rift are great but nothing knocking my socks off at this point, Star Wars... was always just 'eh', Didn't care for Wildstar or ArcheAge, personal taste as they are not bad games at all- same for FF.
ESO was a huge letdown for me though, i was super excited for it and really wanted to enjoy it... but for a series so steeped in lore and background, this game was/is soooooo dull.
Marvel Heroes is finally getting more recognition. People should forget the bumpy start and try it again. It's an awesome game now with weekly updates, events and tons of things to do and collect.

You do he same PvE again and again and again. Then you get a new toon and do it again and again and again. I really liked it at first as I am a big comics fan, but it was just too same old grind.
Marvel Heroes is winning for a reason. It's a changed game from launch, and for the better. It won awards recently for the most improved MMO, it's simply natural progression now for it to be the best MMO.
DA:I and ESO. Wildstar gets honorable mention because of it's taxi bot npc. Game itself wasn't any good imho but I used to take a cab only to listen to that bot's rant.
Is Marvel Heroes even an MMO? it might well be a multiplayer online game, but, i'm not sure it really falls into the category of an MMO, even less so than GW1 did imo, as that game had far more credibility as an MMO. It doesn't even allow you to create your own heroes afaik.
Personally i voted for Shadow of Mordor and FFXIV;ARR.
Shadow of Mordor because it was innovative and fun, and the nemesis system was just awesome. FFXIV;ARR because it remains a consistently good game, with imo, a great and friendly community.

Is an MMOPRG. so problably could fall on both of them but would be unfair so i think they chosen the MMO category. Just my theory :P

Marvel Heroes is an ARPG, why the heck would you use WASD keys?
